The world's first flying motorbike will be launched next year

~Ready to FLY~ It seems human desire to fly as a bird continue to thrive, along with the invention of the airplane in the early 20th century and continued on today's modern era with flying cars, flying suits, and many other flying things. Moreover now designers and engineers are also trying to develop flying motorbikes, and we've also had ever published several articles about these kind of rides such as it made by a Japanese company named Air-Mobility "Xturismo" Limited Edition or the flying motorbike called Lazareth LMV 496 made by the French.

Here's another good news related this kind of rides, soon the flying motorbike will no longer be a part of fictional stories only, because a California-based company called JetPack Aviation (JPA) plans to launch its first flying motorbike named the Speeder (we've not known yet whether that its official name?) in 2023. As we've looked from its appearance, it almost similar to the flying motorbike under the same name seen in the famous George Lucas's sci-fi sequels titled 'Star Wars'.

Currently JetPack Aviation is focused on manufacturing a kind of micro-VTOLs rides intended for human-operated and AI-powered flight. It's known a team being tested a prototype of the world's first fully operable private VTOL, or as some call it, the Flying Motorbike at its plant-facility based in the San Fernando Valley, just north of Los Angeles, California.

In fact, JPA had introduced the Speeder for the first time in 2019. But at that time, this Los Angeles, California based company was still designing it to be used safely and comfortably. As quoted of the Daily Star, the company said that its flying motorcycle prototype had completed the first flight.

Further the maker whose previously succeeded to develop the jet-powered flying suits is disclosed that the Speeder can fly at an altitude of 15 thousand feet and stabilized the rides automatically while in the flight, as it's equipped with a unique flight control software program developed over 1.5 years is functioned to monitor and adjust thrust while in maneuver on the air such as a regular motorcycle on the land.

As quoted of WebBikeWorld, the Speeder will be available in three versions, ie the Civilian Speeder for recreational puposes, the second is the Military Speeder geared toward supporting troops and first responders, and the third labeled the Cargo Speeder as a model that has identified as a Military model with a cargo hold up top would be flew autonomous or piloted by AI.

For Military Speeder, JetPack Aviation claims that this kind of flying motorcycle could be flying at speeds above 250 mph with a maximum thrust of 544 kg. Beside that the military version will equip the box for the weapons and tools used in the mission. While the Cargo Speeder featured with boxes, and also equipped with autonomous flight.

As for the Civilian Speeder is divided into two options, namely the Ultralight (UVS) version and the Experimental version. The UVS version does not require an FAA pilot license to fly it with an empty weight of only 105 kg and offers a maximum thrust of 320 kg and will be limited to a maximum speed of up to 60 mph. Meanwhile the Experimental version has a speed of about 250 mph, and requires a FAA pilot license to fly it. Its flight time will also differ between 35 minutes for the full-Military version, down to 15 minutes for Civilian versions.

As quoted of SupercarBlondie, in the current 2nd prototype configuration, the Speeder uses 4 turbine jet engines fueled by Jet A, kerosene and diesel in every corner of its body which has weighs about 136 kilos that capable of carrying payload twice its weight and is also equipped with a number of features such as hand control, a 12-inches navigation screen and a built-in radio systems. However, the final design of the Speeder (it's said would be powered by up to eight turbine jet engines) has yet to be decided.

The motor maker further stated that the latest Speeder had passed tighter testing series in the summer of 2021 then entered the production lines and now going to its final phase. The California-based company hopes that its flying motorcycle can be immediately marketed commercially and used for the Military and Public Safety Organizations.

For that the company has set an initial price of US $ 381,000 or Rp.5.4 billion, and also has opened pre-order for 20 units of the Speeder via its official sites (it doesn't take long to be sold out). The price above is only for the civil version. As for the Military or Cargo versions, the official price has not been announced yet.
