Volkswagen prepares the legendary "Kombi" car rebirth

The latest Volkswagen microbus called Volkswagen I.D. Buzz Concept, is likely to soon be losen its concept car status. From believable VW's internal source information, this model will be going into mass produced in the next few years.
Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, and Eckhard Scholz, Chairman of the Board of Management of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, announce the decision to go into series production with the electric VW I.D. This concept car appeared looks similar to the VW Kombi legendary car which is also quite well known in the world and Indonesia as well. As we all know, these legendary  VW Kombi which famous at that time became the flower generation rides in along the 60s and 70s, certainly will be reborn with a technology that was far different from its old version.

The I.D. Buzz Concept car made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show 2017 which was displayed with an electric drive. This future Volkswagen microbus will be encouraged as a long-term green-car product.

The Volkswagen I.D. Buzz itself moves forward by using the electric motors that allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds, with a maximum speed of 159 km/h. With such capabilities, the VW I.D. Buzz is claimed to be able to roam as far as 400 to 600 km in a fully battery state.

This concept car itself has a front and rear weight distribution of 48:52 percent, thus providing neutral control. The battery can be recharged through a cable or battery charging station that utilizes induction power to be fully charged within 30 minutes.

As quoted from Autoguide, high-rank leaders at Volkswagen, reportedly have a lot of positive about the rebirth of VW Kombi, through the concept of The I.D. Buzz will be continue as a production version, one of which is Herbert Diess, VW's Brand Chief, who is one of the VW Kombi fans as well.

"I know what you will ask, and the answer is in 2022. Diess wants it," said the source, when asked when the VW Kombi "Reborn" would be mass produced.
Not just as a passenger vehicle, but also will be as the good transports. "Besides being presented as a minibus version, we will also present the I.D. Buzz Coargo to deliver goods," said Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles CEO Dr. Eckhard Scholz.
