Rebirth of Stratos made Ferrari anxious

There is a concept of a super car that is quite interesting to be able to review here, namely the Stratos, albeit with no sign of Lancia in sight. These Italian legendary sports car finally return and had made its official debut at the 88th Geneva Motor Show 2018 held in March ago

And reportedly the latest Stratos car will be produced by Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) rather than Fiat Chrysler-owned Lancia, which now focuses solely on compact city-cars for the Italian domestic automotive market. And the new Stratos car is no mere city runabout.

The 21st century Stratos car was first shown in concept form back in 2010. The car is the work of the company called New Stratos GbR. It was based on the chassis of a Ferrari F430 Scuderia wrapped with a new design which designed by a well-known Italian automotive design house, Pininfarina

However, an Italian premium car manufacturers Ferrari proved less than amenable and finally those prancing horse logoed manufacturer did not want to contribute and blocked the car’s production by refusing to allow New Stratos GbR to source the components it needed. The refusal from Ferrari was not only for the chassis, but also the 4.3 liter V8 F430 engine needed to make this concept car.

This refusal is believed because the Stratos GbR tuned up the engine power higher than 540 hp. Certainly, the power produced is higher than the standard engine made by Ferrari. As reported by Slash Gear, Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT) has signed a cooperation agreement with New Stratos GbR to be able to put the new Stratos car into the production line. Of course these new car uses the same design and technology as their owned cars.

For initial production, MAT will only make 25 cars and those car manufacturer also claims that the Stratos car is a super car that can be relied for daily activities. According to MAT also, the platform used by the latest Stratos cars has the opportunity to be used by GT drivers and also the Safari version.

Reportedly the car will be produced with engine power of 550 hp or more. Of course the MAT will also equip this car with a special suspension that can be adjusted to the ideal balance according to the driver. MAT also claims that the car will provide an experience that other supercar cars cannot provide, which can be used on winding and dense roads.
These car used a 4,308 cc plat-plane V8 engine can burst maximum power up to 540 hp at 8.200 rpm and peak torque of 519 Nm at 3,750 rpm. Those engine power channelled to rear wheels through six-speed sequential transmission system can make the car accelerates 0-100 kph in 3.3 seconds, 0-200 kph in 9.7 seconds, 100-0 kph in 2.2 seconds and reaches a top speed numbers of 330 kph.

If you are interested in owning this car, first it must be ascertained whether you can afford to buy a Ferrari F430 Scuderia for use as a donor car then prepare as much as €500,000 equivalent to US. $624,715. Wow, it turns out this car is expensive too...! *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MANIFATTURA AUTOMOBILI TORINO | MOTORING RESEARCH | AUTOBLOG | EVO | SLASHGEAR]
