Rows of 6 Amphibious Cars

Many ways are done by humans to anticipate terrain will they pass with the vehicle. Then man created a vehicle that has the ability to be driving on land or waters called amphibious vehicle.

The specialty of the car with the performance amphibious course is cruising ability and can take part in land and waters. Following the sixth amphibious cars are.

1. Mini Cooper Boat
Mini Cooper Boat unit was launched by Mini USA annual Motor-Tober. Manufacturers make this car as an element that is believed to liven up the annual Head of the Charles Regata in Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

In this annual celebration, Mini Cooper uses a 6 hp motor powered boat converted into, is the result of cooperation with ACI Composite Inc. based in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

2. TVR Scamander
Amphibious all-terrain vehicle was originally envisioned by Peter Wheeler, owner of British sports car manufacturer TVR for 23 years, but he passed away before it came to fruition.

So his wife and a team of engineers made sure the Scamander was eventually built, Peter's dream car as well as a team dedicated to Peter.

On the street, the car can reach a maximum speed of 120 mph, V6 engine equipped with the power of 300 horsepower. Has impressive performance because it can drive in any terrain on land and water.

3. Sea Lion
This car was made by Marc Witt, a car enthusiast who has 6 years of working on his own dream project made amphibious cars. Eventually he managed to create The Sea Lion, the sports car that can "swim" in the water with a speed of 60 mph and 125 mph on land.

Even for success, Marc Witt ready to sold this amphibious car with the price of 259,500 U.S. dollars, or approximately Rp. 2.33 billion per unit. This car was made from aluminum and stainless steel for the body to be water resistant and using Mazda 174-hp rotary engine.

For now, the speed of the car was made by Marc is the fastest amphibious car, while other amphibian car only 45 mph of speed.

4. AmphiCoach GTS-1
Not only vehicles with small to medium size could swim in the water, the large one such as the bus also took part as an amphibious vehicle. There are 2 buses with a length of 12 meters, the first has been operated to transported tourist in the Budapest beach, in Hungary.

This AmphiCoach GTS-1 was used to transport the tourists sailing in the waters. If it's crossing on the water surface, this bus is capable of accelerating to a speed of 20 knots. A second AmphiCoach GTS-1 vehicle was operated by the owner of the resort in Belfast.

AmphiCoach GTS-1 was designed by George Smith and made in Malta by his own company, GS Specialist Vehicles. The production process AmphiCoach GTS-1 is largely using manual method. Borrowed another term, this vehicle is the result of hand-crafted, not manufactured in a factory.

5. Gibbs Aquada
Aquada is a new vehicle from the England's Gibbs Technology. Gibbs Aquada, a vehicle that can drive up to 100 mph on the highway and 30-plus mph on the water.

In less than 13 seconds, the wheels retract and power switches from a four-cylinder, 175-hp V6 engine to water-jet propulsion—like a robot walking on water. But the buyer should beware. Even if the Aquada is a water skier-friendly, you will probably need a boat license.

The amphibious vehicle has been available in the U.S. from the first half of 2009 starting at $ 100,000 approximately Rp. 1.96 billion per unit. In addition, the British company says this boatmobile is unsinkable, even if it’s swamped in. (See Gibbs amphibious trucks here).

6. Rinspeed Splash
Another amphibious car that beat the speed of the Gibbs Aquada on water was called the Rinspeed Splash. On the surface of the water, this amphibious car can go at a speed of 80 kilometers per hour.

This amphibian car this one is slightly different from the Gibbs Aquada because Rinspeed use Hydroplane concept. Thus, similar to the use of water skis.

Transformation to a speed boat involves deploying a propeller at the rear, the large rear spoiler rolls under the car becoming the rear hydrofoil, and two hydrofoils integrated into the left and right sides of the splash swing down to form the front hydrofoils. So that when driving on the surface of the water, the bottom of the Rinspeed will rise to as high as about 60 centimeters. No wonder this type amphibious car capable of driving up to 80 kilometers while gliding on the water surface, and naturally Rinspeed has constructed the Splash's interior from waterproof materials.
