The longest Jeep Wrangler ever made

Jeep Wrangler with a capacity of seven passengers is indeed not a new product from Chrysler Fiat Automobile. The modifier who made the Wrangler with six doors was Swat Motorsport, one of accessory automotive repair shops in Las Vegas.

As quoted of Autoevolution on Monday, May 2, 2016, the vehicle that is expected to have approximately six meters long, has the addition of the middle section of the body. Extra long dimension is used to increase the capacity of the room with three rows of seats to carry seven passengers.

Swat Motorsport itself still add a back room as the luggage compartment is unchanged from the standard model of Wrangler manufacturer. But the roofless Wrangler is not equipped with the windows for all passengers.

Size longer than the original dimensions of the Wrangler's which only 4.2 meters, still rely on original four wheels driving system. With such dimensions certainly modifications to the axle adjustment.

Swat Motorsport themselves are not released the engine sector in use, but with the addition of weight from the body and the use of large diameter tires, as well as the distribution of power from the engine to the wheel axle which increases, this car been anticipated having to rely on large capacity machines. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOEVOLUTION]

Chinese scientists managed to create colorful sheep

Consumers may get more choice of natural colors for wool products, because Chinese scientists can change the color of the sheep fleece by editing the animal genes. Scientists from Urumqi, Xinjiang, managed to raise five lambs in a variety of colors by using a technique known as CRISPR-Cas9.

In Xinjiang Academy of Zootechnical Science, there are five sheep that attract attention. Two of them had color shades of black and white, the other two are black with white spots, while one sheep was brown and white like a cappuccino.

"The sheep are born in March, it has become our beloved pets," said lead researcher, Liu Mingjun. And according to Liu, this is the first time scientists alter the fleece color of large animals through the CRISPR-Cas9 techniques. Previously, the experiment performed limited on mice only.

As quoted from Xinhua on Tuesday, June 7, 2016, Liu team chose ASIP, which is a key gene to affect the color of fleece, which is used to edit the colors as their wish.

CRISPR, or Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats, was chosen as the latest breakthrough in 2015 by one of the US science journal. The findings were assessed as molecular scissors that can selectively discard unwanted parts of the genome and replace it with new DNA. Meanwhile Cas9 are certain types of proteins related to CRISPR where patterns can be altered by genetic modification of the genome.

By using CRISPR-Cas9 techniques, consumers can buy wool products with more variety of color choices without having to add artificial coloring. Not only that, farmers can also order different colors according to their needs or preferences.

"Compared with the traditional approach of gene mutations, in which researchers require decades to develop new seeds, by editing of the genes are much more effective," said Liu.

In the past year, his team has designed 38 sheep that outperformed ordinary ones in muscle and wool growth. Those animals will be studied more about the genetic stability during reproduction in the autumn of this year.. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | XINHUA]

Bumblebee's new face on the latest Transformers 5

As we all knew, the fifth sequel movies of "Transformers: The Last Knight" is scheduled to premiere at the upcoming June 2017. No doubt this is a film that quite eagerly awaited both by the film lovers, as well as automotive enthusiasts.

As quoted from Autoblog and Carbuzz on Monday, June 6, 2016, one of the Transformers movie's icons that had many fans, ie Bumblebee will return action in this episode. As previously the Autobots sidekick is still performing with a Chevrolet Camaro.

Not only that, such as the picture which is incidentally uploaded by the movie director, Michael Bay, showing the Camaro has a new look. While it is still based on the new generation of Camaro that sold today.

However, there are some bravely additions on the body kit and front spoiler. While the spoiler on the rear is not so noticeable, but it seems the face of Bumblebee on the Camaro today's increasingly assertive, aggressive, and frightening.

It is the only picture of Camaro submitted by Bay right now. But certainly, the Transformers fans and automotive enthusiasts expect to see more of the Camaro's form will be present later.
As expected many people previously, when the first Transformers film appeared, the Bumblebee would use a Volkswagen Beetle, as in the cartoon. However, after aired it turns Bumblebee comes with stylish Chevy Camaro. This part of the great deal that provides many benefits for General Motors as the car's manufacturer. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOBLOG | CARBUZZ]

The rejuvenation look of R90S

We all knew that the modification has no limit, not only can be done on the latest motorcycle, the old one could be a challenge. As reported by Autoevolution, a neat modification result shown by a modifier named Sebastien Beaupere who have changed the old school appearance of 1973 BMW R90S into a modern motorcycle.

The original motorcycle form of BMW R90S who have long bodies cut off, leaving one seat only. By using the framework of the BMW R50, this time the display of classic motorcycle looks more highlight on the  engine power of two cylinder, 4 stroke which has a capacity of 898 cc.

Furthermore, the fuel tank display also looks so futuristic with grooves that are intended as a rider's knee patches. Then sturdiness of its legs clearly visible, by using a dual suspension at the front and rear and made the vintage elements more viscous in it. An extreme impression also shown by the election of black spokes rims wrapped with wide tread tires.

If usually the modifiers try to stay on the original impression, but not to Beaupere. It could be seen on the headlamp appearance, it displayed at the bottom side of the tank right on beside the front suspension. Likewise with the stop lamp that is inserted on  the exhaust at the top left side and affixed with license plate number beside it.

Then switched to the machine, the modifier does not change its standard engine that combined with 5-speed manual transmission system. Although it has been old aged, the old Bimmers engine capable of being brought sped up to reach a top speed of 200 km/h, and its torque up to 76 Nm.

I guess this can be an inspiration for those of you who want to improve the appearance of your vintage motorcycle. Kept spur your adrenaline on the power of two-wheeled monster and stay alive with the true safety riding. God will forgive Your sins.... *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOEVOLUTION]

It turned out, Pluto is not dead

Human knowledge about Pluto is now increased. Things that once called the farthest planet of the Solar System that was not cold and dead. The dwarf planet turned out to be alive ... geologically.

Last year, New Horizon spacecraft passed the Pluto and has been photographing its surface features. The most amazing feature is Sputnik Planum, heart-shaped surface feature such as a symbol of love.

Unlike the other Pluto's surface, Sputnik Planum very smooth and free of collision. The area also has features similar polygonal-shaped bubbles, measuring up to 6 x 24 miles. Two research papers published in the Nature journal on Thursday, June 2, 2016 to uncover the origin of the creation of alleged features of youngest in the Solar system.
This artist's impression of NASA's New Horizons spacecraft encountering Pluto and its largest moon, Charon, is seen in a NASA image from July 2015. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1RvzXhj)
William B. McKinnon of Washington University, the author of one papers, said, "(Sputnik Planum) is not only the heart of Pluto, but the living heart."

"There are many things going on. If we went back 100,000 years, then the pattern will change," McKinnon said as quoted by the Washington Post on Thursday.

According to the study, the mysterious polygonal features on Sputnik Planum are bubbles that rise to the surface, due to the heating system at the bottom. Actually the entire layer of Sputnik Planum is a nitrogen ice that is slowly heated by convection by radioactive elements in the dwarf planet.

At Pluto, solid nitrogen softer, can flow slowly. As the heating of the Pluto, nitrogen becomes warm, and some rose to the surface, as if the volcanic lava. Over time, the bubble is cooled and sinks again, leaving room for a new bubble to rise and take place. Nitrogen bubbles could merge with each other before sinking, creating complex lines.

The scientists believe the bubble is renewing itself every 500,000 to 1 million years. It sounded too old for humans, but geologically relatively short, especially in a world far away from the Sun.

"Here we find evidence that the cold planet is billions of miles from Earth, there is energy to geological activity, as long as have the right materials, meaning that something as soft as nitrogen," explained McKinnon.

The nitrogen heating process is precisely what the secret of Pluto's subtle heart. Nitrogen that rise to the surface over time remove traces of collision that may exist on the surface of Sputnik Planum.

The New Horizon Investigation Leader, Alan Stern, said, "Sputnik Planum is a remarkable geological discoveries in planetary exploration for 50 years." *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | WASHINGTON POST]

This DeLorean autonomous car can be drifting

Researchers from Stanford University, California, USA, had another ideas in the development of autonomous technology. Very different from the manufacturer who wants the cars to work and run automatically on the highway, but they chose a more pleasant innovation, which is makes this car can be drifting automatically in the circuit.

The study object used was also of interest, namely the DeLorean DMC-12, a very famous car from the 'Back to the Future' movies. The typical car which has the gullwing doors and also the only one who ever produced by the DeLorean Motor Company.

On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, a DMC-12 car with the autonomous technology is introduced. The car, named 'Marty' like the character played by Michael J. Fox in the movies, and was able to take the burning tires action or drifting. The action is better than any human driver because the computer systems can control the limits of traction. In addition, the technology also can avoid a scenario of extreme accidents.

"We're not developing automated vehicles on the roads that could produce a white smoke cloud of tires. Even though it was cool," said Stanford professor, Chris Gerdes, as reported by Automotive News.

If in the movies, the DMC-12 car need the plutonium radioactive element and electrical power similar the needs of a small sized nuclear plant of 1.21 gigawatts to move and visit the future. While Marty is designed as an electric car and as the result of collaboration with Renovo Motors.

Let's check out the car tires burning action in the video below.
There are two additional electric motor that works to help move both rear wheels like a drift car. The entire of car development project had been spent of US. $529,000 (or the equivalent Rp.7,2 billion). Turn out this toy was expensive too!! *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOMOTIVE NEWS]
