Largest saltwater crocodile in history have been found

Crocodile is one of the animals that survived of the age of dinosaurs. These animals are not much evolved since the birth of millions of years ago, but the size is shrinking from its ancestors.

But you know, how the size of the largest crocodile ever found? This fact may be very surprising. The largest crocodile ever inhabited the ocean, was found to have emerged in the Tunisian desert. Then why these large predators could be stranded and appeared in the desert?

This prehistoric predators, able to grow with nearly ten meters long and weighing up to three tons. The paleontologists have dubbed the new species as Machimosaurus rex and described in the Cretaceous Research journal.

Although only found fossilized, but can identify the creature lived about 120 million year ago to be the largest known from pedigree crocodile who spent their life in the sea.

"This is a new discovery of the neat parts of the world that has not been widely explored for fossils," said Stephen Brusatte, a paleontologist of the University of Edinburgh.

The fossils were found, including parts of the skull and some other bones, discovered by Federico Fanti of the University of Bologna with the support of colleagues at the National Geographic Society.

Scientists are waiting for the discovery of more complete skeleton, to know exactly how big this Machimosaurus rex was. But assuming that new species have the same proportion as their close relatives, Machimosaurus rex estimated to have a length of 9.6 meters.

Meanwhile, the largest freshwater crocodile ever found named Sarcosuchus imperator, which lived about 110 million years ago, and is able to grow over 12 meters, weighing up to eight tons. But since then, the Deinosuchus giant and his line was dead.
"Machimosaurus rex likely to have a stocky body, relatively short and relatively rounded teeth. And the size of the skull is able to provide exceptional bite force," Fanti said.

For scientists, the most important aspect of Machimosaurus rex is not on its size. The paleontologists have long debated whether there was a mass extinction at the end of the Jurassic period, 145 million years ago.

The Machimosaurus rex fossils discoveries in the limestone suggests that if there is a mass extinction at the time, but did not kill all life on this planet. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC]

2. Honda Zodia
Honda Zodia is a cruiser concept motorcycle equipped with large capacity engine. The motorcycle concept has fierce and unique look and was first introduced on the Tokyo Motor Show 1995 is indeed had a quite remarkable value.

How's it going, the Volkswagen Hover Car concept?

We often seen in the sci-fi films, that in the future there is a sophisticated car that can float even fly. Indeed such concepts has long existed in human minds, even since the 1980s. To realize the dream, many designers who are trying to create a future concept car with futuristic shapes, unique, can float or fly and has a myriad of features that are not provided on the conventional cars today.

Among the many concept cars that have been designed and made the prototypes (perhaps), so we try to dug again about the existence of the unique future car concepts that ever presented some years ago.

You all may remember with 'The City Egg' concept car developed by Tomasz Mikrut that specially designed for one passenger. Many similar concepts have been developed by other designers, one of them is the future Volkswagen concept car which has been participated in the "People's Car Project," is a 2 years project of building the next People's Car together with the people which held in Beijing, China some years ago (January, 2011 - April, 2013).

The concept is named 'Hover Car' is much more sophisticated than The City Egg. Why? Because the car is not running in the street like a car in general, but rather float! If you imagine that this car is designed like the iconic DeLorean car in the 'Back to the Future' movie, or even could say much more cool!

The unique two-seater concept car was very futuristic and has an unusual round shape like a wheel with a tiny tail in the rear. From the CGI video that created specifically to explain the workings of the car concept, it is controlled by a very simple way that relying on a single button to turn it on and single lever that can be moved to the right, left, front, and rear.

Shortly after the car is turned on, it will lift up and float as high as two feet and moving on the electromagnetic track (the car is driven using electromagnetic power that is implanted on the ground).
One of the advantages of this concept car is its ability to detect several approaching obstacles or dangers. By using the sensors embedded in the control system, the car will automatically reduce speed when suspect any danger in the vicinity. Thus, the risk of accidents can be minimized. This car can also move automatically when set to auto mode.

We wonder whether this concept car is indeed feasible to be developed and produced in large-scale, and we'll waiting further news in the future. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CARGOCOLLECTIVE.COM]

In 2030 ESA will build the first Human colony in Moon

Tales about the existence of a land on the Moon turned out to be a myth. When the first time set foot on the Moon on July 21, 1969, human ensure that the Earth's satellite was dry. There's no rabbits especially goddesses inhabiting it.

However, with the science and technology almost makes everything possible. Including, to makes the barren Moon as a human habitation.

The European Space Agency (ESA) revealed the plans to build a human base on the Moon. Amazingly, a program called 'Moon Village" will be built with the help of three-dimensional (3D) printing technology. The forward base will help humans to explore the galaxy and the universe.

Not necessarily sent the humans to there. The plan, the robot will be the first landed on the Moon, to prepare the Moon's surface to be inhabited by humans. A number of the base concept designs has also been made.

In the future, the astronauts can use the Moon to explore other celestial bodies like Mars - NASA's main target. Previously, the water was found in the surface of the Red Planet, which further fueled speculation alien presence there.
ESA suggests the target of colonies on the Moon in the 2-day conference, titled 'Moon 2020-2030 - A New Era of Coordinated Human and Robotic Exploration' was held at the European Space Research and Technology Centre in Noorwijk, Netherlands. The conference, which followed 200 scientists and experts discussed human leap in the future in terms of exploration of outer space.

Kathy Laurini of a NASA scientist optimistic, the ESA's base on the Moon would be a stepping stone for astronauts to be sent to Mars.

"ESA's space exploration strategy is to make the Moon as a priority goal, which can be used as a stepping stone for a human to Mars," as she told the SPACE.com, as quoted by News.com.au on Monday, January 4, 2016.

"And talk about the 'Moon Village' generate positive energy in Europe - which plays an important role in the scenario of human exploration of the universe," added Laurini.
In 2013, ESA conducted a serial of tests about the possibility of using the Moon soil as a 'building materials' for the manufacture of the human base. With the help of three-dimensional printers - that process the materials to be used as a dome, which protects humans there from space radiation.

"3D printing technology can be used to produce an overall structure," said Laurent Pambaguian, the project leader. "Our industrial team is investigating whether the technology could be used to build habitats on the Moon." *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | NEWS.COM.AU]
