Mars may have a ring someday

Millions of years from now, Mars may have ring like Saturn because of the destruction of its moon, Phobos, which then forms a ring of dust.

"One of the main factors for Phobos crash into Mars or lose power. When Phobos is too weak to withstand the pressure of the waves, we think it's going to break," says a graduate student at the University of California, Tushar Mittal, who is also one of the authors of the study in the journal Nature Geoscience, on LiveScience.

As known that Mars has two moons called Phobos and Deimos, are named after the children of the god Ares, the Greek counterpart to Mars, the Roman god of war. Phobos circling the Red Planet rapidly and rises every day Mars. The moon moved closer to its parent, 2 meters in a century, previous studies estimated that the moon will crash into the surface of Mars in 30-50 million years.

However, after studying the pressure on Phobos Mars, Tushar Mittal and Benjamin Black, a graduate researcher of University of California Berkeley seeing different conditions: Phobos will be destroyed by the gravity of Mars.

On Earth, the Moon's gravity causes a tidal wave and tidal rise in the sea. Although there is no sea in the Moon, the Earth's gravity on the Moon is also called a "power surge".

Phobos, and the other moons in the solar system, also felt the wave of its parent planet. After comparing with several satellites, Black and Mittal found that Phobos is made of porous rock which damaged up to the inside.

Bugatti continues to teased the Chiron potential buyers

The news about Bugatti Chiron come again. Now, the French automaker is launching a teaser image that are specific to the prospective buyers of this Veyron successor models.

According to data speculation, Chiron will carry a W16, quad-turbo petrol engine that has a capacity of 8.0-liter. Buggati claims, the drivetrain is capable of producing 1,500 hp of power and torque of 1,500 Nm, and claimed able to run from 0-100 kph in only 2.3 seconds.

In fact, reportedly the Chiron speedometer available up to 500 kph, so the super fast car be able to accelerated to 300 kph only in 15 seconds. This virus could be the key to the eradication of dengue fever

Scientists from the University of Queensland found the virus 'good' in mosquitoes that could potentially help efforts eradication diseases caused by mosquitoes such as dengue fever. The virus, known as Parramatta River virus is found in a joint study by scientists from the University of Queensland (UQ) and Sydney University.

Dr. Jody Hobson-Peters, of the Center for Infectious Disease Research UQ said the Parramatta River virus can only infect mosquitoes and can not infect humans or animals.

"We believe if the mosquito is infected with this virus, then the mosquitoes will be difficult infected with a disease caused by a virus," he said.

This means we may be able to stop the transmission of viral diseases that come from mosquitoes by using these findings. Moreover, the Parramatta River virus belonging to the same family of viruses that cause dengue fever.

Therefore, according to Dr. Hobson-Peters, the virus can be passed from generation to generation in mosquitoes. "This will be a very effective way to overcome the dengue fever virus," said Peters.

He added, "This is an unusual type of virus. We can deliberately infect Parramatta River virus in mosquitoes from infecting diseases such as dengue fever in humans."

Until now, scientists have only found the virus Parramatta River at Aedes vigilax species, which is known to redeem Ross River virus. However, scientists are still searching for the possibility of another virus found in Aedes egypti mosquitoes responsible transmit the dengue fever.

"We are still researching the many viruses that we have found and build a new system to find all kinds of new viruses," said Peters.

According to Peters, if we can prove that this virus and other viruses that we find it really can prevent mosquitoes infected with dengue fever virus, then maybe in the future we can stop this disease as well.

Peters said the researchers also learned a lot about the types of microbes found in the body of the mosquito. Now that he is reviewing new surface course and learn about how the behavior of these mosquitoes.

The ultimate Kelevra Café Racer

Kelevra is the name of the latest Ducati Monster S4R based modified motorcycle of a Milan-based speed shop named South Garage Cafe (SGC). It was first presented at the EICMA 2012 and was crowned as the 'Best Café Racer'. When viewing the appearance of this motorcycle the judges were astonished by technologically advanced and the nostalgic charm which perfectly outlined by SGC on this motorcycle.

Inspired by the lines of the Manx Norton, the Monster's factory bodywork has been replaced by custom made South Garage fiberglass components. The new bodywork transforms the Monster into a classicly styled Café Racer as well as revealing more of the S4R's beautiful engine. The Kelevra's tank is 5 cm wider than the original to match the width of the Monsters trellis frame.

This change in width has also resulted in a larger fuel capacity even though the overall dimensions are smaller than the original. The tail section is again inspired by classic Café Racer styling. A wasp tail, single saddle seat that sits 6 cm higher than the stock unit, matches the lines of the Kelevra's new tank while also leveling the bodywork with the road.

Double turned collector around the casing is made of about 70 tig welding pieces, which is coupled to the vintage "Trombone" counter-cone muffler. The ignition has been relocated to the bottom of the tank to keep in theme with the build. Tank and tailpiece are handmade fiberglass composite materials.

The handmade 2 in 1 stainless steel exhaust was custom built on the SGC specifications. The whole process is assisted by Fabrizio, a SGC fabricator starting from a pencil sketch on a sheet of paper to be a beautiful work of art.

To manage the changes in airflow from these modifications South Garage remapped the bikes ECU to 'optimise power'. With a output figure of 113 bhp (83.4kw) from the S4R's 996 cc, 90° twin the Kelevra is capable of eye watering 10.8 second quarter mile runs.

Former Tesla employees makes a mysterious car, what is it?

Former Tesla employees has built a startup company named Faraday Future. They are trying to make a car with a seductive concept and planned to be ready to 'explode' at CES (Consumer Elctronics Show) to be held in January 2016.

Faraday Future will launch a  'fully-electric' vehicle and offers intelligent connectivity, as quoted from Auto Guide, November 24, 2015. Currently, the company has around 400 employees from various backgrounds and include former Tesla's famous employees, like Nick Sampson (former Director of Vehicle and Chassis Engineering).

Not only that, the former director of manufacturing, Dag Reckhorn also joined the Faraday Future team. There is also Alan Cherry, a former senior director of human resources and Tom Wessner, former purchasing director. Not to forget Richard Kim as head of design who is a former the BMW founding member and lead designer for the i3 and i8 concept.

Do not underestimate the Faraday Future, because they will be supported by Jia Yueting, a Chinese billionaire who now runs a technology company named Letv.  While One of Letv’s partners is Aston Martin. The company currently is aiming to launch its first production vehicle by 2017 and plans to invest as much as $1 billion into a new factory located in the US.

The model of 'Faraday Future' as yet unnamed features a battery with a capacity of 15% of more than 85kW-hr unit used by Tesla Model S. That means the possibility of having at least a 300-mile cruising. "We will start with a fully electric vehicle that will offer intelligent and seamless connectivity to the outside world," reads the official statement of the company.

JOHN LOGIE BAIRD (1888 - 1946)
Televisi merupakan salah satu kebutuhan penting bagi umat manusia sekarang ini. Televisi menjadi media untuk menyalurkan informasi ke masyarakat. Dan tahukah Anda siapa penemu televisi? Penemu Televisi adalah John Logie Baird.

John Logie Baird lahir tanggal 13 Agustus 1888 di Helensburgh, Skotlandia, ia menerima pendidikan di Technical College Royal dan Universitas Glasgow. Karena mengalami kondisi kesehatan yang buruk, dia tidak dapat ikut dalam Perang Dunia I dan akhirnya ia memilih menjadi seorang insinyur listrik.

Ia lebih berkonsentrasi pada bidang elektronik, terutama setelah gelombang demonstrasi radio temuan Guglielmo Marconi dapat digunakan untuk membawa sinyal audio. Baird yakin bahwa melalui proses yang sama dapat mengirimkan sinyal visual, dan ia mulai bekerja dan melakukannya pada sebuah desain.

Desain televisi pertama yang dibuat oleh Baird adalah sebuah perangkat yang disebut Nipkow disk, yaitu disk scanning yang diciptakan pada tahun 1884 oleh Paul Nipkow, seorang ilmuwan Jerman. Pada dasarnya, perangkat ini terdiri dari disk karton dengan serangkaian lubang persegi, terletak dalam posisi spiral. Ketika digabungkan dengan photoelectriccell dan berputar, Nipkow disk mampu memindai area terang dan gelap dan mengkonversi informasi yang menjadi sinyal listrik. Dengan menggunakan seconddisk, dan disinkronkan dengan yang pertama, Nipkow mampu menterjemahkan bahwa signal ke gambar visual primitif.

Baird mengambil ide Nipkow dan maju satu langkah lebih jauh, dengan mengembangkan sistem dimana sinyal dapat dikirim melalui gelombang elektromagnetik, bukan kabel. Sementara masih dalam tahap perkembangan awal dari penemuannya, Baird menemukan sedikit dukungan keuangan karena sebagian besar investor menganggap ide Baird sebagai hal yang kurang menguntungkan.

Hingga ia berusia 35 tahun, Baird hidup dalam kondisi serba kekurangan. Selama waktu ini Baird bekerja sebagai penjual sepatu dan salesman silet, dan mendapatkan uang hanya cukup untuk membayar makan, tempat tinggal, dan membeli beberapa perlengkapan mekanik. Sehingga banyak dari prototipe penemuannya dibuat menjadi barang-barang keperluan rumah tangga seperti kue kaleng, jarum rajut, lampu sepeda, dan lain-lain.

Pada tahun 1923, ia mulai berusaha kembali mengotak-atik mesin penemuannya untuk mentransmisi gambar, sekaligus suara, lewat gelombang radio. Tak lama kemudian ia berhasil mengirim citra kasar melewati transmiter tanpa-kabel ke pesawat penerima yang berjarak beberapa meter. 

Baird menjadi terkenal hampir dalam semalam, dan segera banyak investor memberinya cukup uang untuk mengejar tujuan yang lebih ambisius. Pada 1927 ia berhasil mengirim sinyal televisi dari London ke Glasgow dan pada 1928 dari London ke New York. Saat itulah John Logie Baird tercatat sebagai Penemu Televisi Pertama.

Segera, setelah itu penemuan Baird tersebut digantikan oleh desain televisi tabung sinar katoda dari Vladimir Zworykin. Namun, Baird terus berusaha untuk membuat desain televisi yang lebih baik. Dia membantu mengembangkan sistem televisi berwarna definisi tinggi (High Definition Colour Television System) serta layar proyeksi televisi besar yang ia bayangkan pada akhirnya televisi dapat dilihat publik seperti  layar film.
