How do blood formed was redefined by scientists

A new view of how human blood is made has been discovered by scientists, dropping conventional dogma of the 1960s. The stem cell scientists led by Dr. John Dick has found an entirely new view of how human blood is made, upending the 1960s conventional dogma.

Stem cell Scientists led by Dr. John Dick published the findings online in the journal Science, proves "that the whole 'book' classic view we think we know, absolutely nothing," said Dr. John Dick, Senior Scientist at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, University Health Network (UHN), and Professor in the Department of Molecular Genetics, University of Toronto.

"Instead, through a series of experiments we finally were able to find answers to how the type of blood cell that is different are formed rapidly from stem cells (blood cells are the most powerful in the system) and does not flow far down as it has been thought traditionally," said Dr. Dick , who holds the Canada Research Chair in Stem Cell Biology and Director of the Cancer Stem Cell Program at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research.

The study also dropping view of the conventional text book which states that the development of the blood system is stable as it is formed. Not so, says Dr. Dick. "Our findings suggest that the blood system particularly two levels and change in the early days of human development and in adulthood."

Co-authors, Dr. Faiyaz Notta and Dr. Sasan Zandi wrote that to redefine the composition of blood formation, the research team mapped the potential offspring of nearly 3,000 single cells and 33 different cell populations of stem cells and progenitor cells obtained in a human blood sample, based on various stages and ages of life.

For people with blood disorders and diseases, the potential clinical utility generates significant findings, open a different route to personalized treatment.

Dr. Dick said, "Our discovery means that we will be able to understand much better the various disorders and blood diseases in humans, such as anemia, in which no cells sufficient blood, leukemia, where blood cells are too much. Think of it as agents of change from the old world with the black and white television to a whole new world with HD (high definition) television." *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SCIENCEDAILY]

Chimera person have two DNA or Blood-type

The world's science evolving continue to amaze us with new things that previously seemed strange and impossible. One of them is an invention of  human chimera; a rare condition when a person can have two DNA or blood type.
The couple feared there had been a mix up at the fertility clinic. (Picture from: http://ind.pn/1LuFnn3)
Recent cases of human chimera pretty much get the media spotlight since there are a couple from the United States who have biological children with different DNA from the parents. In that case the child has a twin DNA of the father who had died in the womb.

Human chimera condition occurs when the fetus absorbs twin cells that die within the womb. This makes the fetus has a 'ghost' DNA of the twin who was never born. This phenomenon eventually makes a person has a unique DNA or condition but is often not realized.

The double DNA and strange situation itself is actually quite common in animals. However, during this chimera of the human condition is still relatively rare. Given this case, scientists suspect actually has been pretty much a human chimera cases but not realized.

In some cases there are people who have two blood types. There are also people who have different genitalia of the other organs in his body. A female human chimera may also have different DNA in blood cells by the ovaries.

This strange condition may occur in the fetus is contained as a twin or triplets. It may be that we, too, is a chimera, but never realized because this condition can only be known through the test. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | INDEPENDENT]

Allegedly, in Pluto there are volcanoes spewing ice

In the "Heart" of Pluto saves a mysterious phenomenon. Scientists strongly suspect that it is a volcano that is strange because not emit hot lava, but the mountain spewed ice!
'Nothing like this has ever been seen in the outer solar system,' said NASA scientists studying mountains on Pluto. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1iSUOLm)
Alleged ice volcanoes on Pluto was revealed by Oliver White, a researcher of National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), at the annual meeting of the Division of Planetary Sciences, Astronomy Association of America on Monday, November 9, 2015, in California.

The phenomenon of suspected ice volcanoes was revealed through the data analysis of New Horizons spacecraft passing near Pluto in July 2015 ago. If this analysis is correct, there are two ice volcanoes on Pluto.
This artist's impression of NASA's New Horizons spacecraft encountering Pluto and its largest moon, Charon, is seen in a NASA image from July 2015. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1RvzXhj)
Each informally named Wright Mons and Piccard Mons, located on the southern boundary of the heart-shaped area, called Sputnik Planum. Wright Mons has a height of about 1.6 kilometers, while the Piccard Mons about 5.6 kilometers. The diameter of each mountain 160 kilometers.

At the top of the mountain, there is a similar crater basins, such as those found on Mars and Earth. There, astronomers discovered a phenomenon such as traces of the eruption, hints of volcanic activity.

If the material emitted by volcanoes on Earth are rocks and mud, the volcano in Pluto erupted water, nitrogen, ammonia, and methane in the form of ice.

"There is no such phenomenon is found in the outer solar system," White said as quoted by The Guardian on Monday. The idea of the existence of volcanoes on Pluto does sound crazy. Because the dwarf planet has a distance of 30 times the distance Earth-Moon, Pluto should not receive enough heat energy to support the volcanic activity.

However, the ice volcano is the most reasonable explanation of phenomena that exist. "Whatever it will still sound strange," said White.

In addition to finding an ice volcano, New Horizon also revealed the existence of a fault in the area along 322 kilometers. The upper part of the fault is 4 kilometers higher than surrounding areas. "The fact that there are many major faults in Pluto indicates that the crust undergo extension in its history," said White.

Scientists suspect, the radioactive activity of Pluto nucleus becomes a source of heat for geological activity. Now, the New Horizons spacecraft continues its journey to exploring the world of Kuiper Belt. And 2019, the spacecraft will pass close to one of the objects there. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE GUARDIAN]
