BMW Sprintbeemer

In each race, participants always strive to be dropping his opponents mentally. One common way is to create a vehicle design that makes it looks grim, like this one. As reported of Bikeexif on Monday, April 20, 2015, The Lucky Cat Garage modified motorcycle repair shop owner, Séb Lorentz which originally used to handle repair old BMW motorcycles. He then got the idea to make the racing version of the motor used is often used for the war.

By Séb, the motorcycle is named Sprintbeemer. However, many of his friends have dubbed this bike as 'Drag King'. Appropriate nickname, this bike is specifically built to be used in drag race event as far as 402 meters.

In the Glemseck 2013 event, this bike was ranked the first. Now, Séb back to make the modifications to improve the power, in order to compete with other motors. The BMW R100RS engine which has a capacity of 980 cc gets a new intake valve is larger, which has a camshaft opening angle up to 336 degrees and measures 40 millimeters Dell'Orto carburetor.

To channel the engine power to the rear wheels, selected BMW R100R transmission combined with the clutch plates made of ceramic. The inside of the machine also overhauled, including a special racing pistons, cylinder heads R100GS and four plugs for the second cylinder.

It combined with NOS (Nitrous Oxide System) features, this bike is claimed to have 25 percent more power than before modification. The entire electrical system is regenerated, because the original alternator removed to lighten the work of the machine.
The unique motorcycle part is the fairing design, the shape is made to resemble a jet fighter nose. Fairing decorated with stickers of arrows that is claimed to make his opponents confused, because the direction of the arrow pointing both to the front and rear.

The largest object found in the area of mysterious universe

Astronomers find giant objects in the universe. The object is supervoid, has a diameter of about 1.8 million light years. Imagine the size, the distance span from Earth to Pluto have only 5.3 hours of light.
A strange empty hole has been found in the universe as taken by Planck telescope. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1HpRvUM)
Istvan Szapudi, an astronomer who led the study at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, said that the object of the possibility of "the largest single object ever discovered by man".
The largest object found during Szapudi and the team is studying the phenomenon of "cold spots" in the universe. Areas that have a material 20 per cent and 10,000 fewer galaxies than other areas.

"Cold spots" are areas that are so mysterious, discovered in 2004. Until now astronomers have not been able to describe the origin of these areas as well as its impact on the understanding of the origin of the universe.
The Cold Spot area resides in the constellation Eridanus in the southern galactic hemisphere. The insets show the environment of this anomalous patch of the sky. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1HpRvUM)
In the middle of the decoding of the "cold spot", in one of the studies, Szapudi and his team found the biggest supervoid this. Compared with other parts of the universe are solid, supervoid been likened to a hole.

However, Andras Kovacs of Eotovos Lorand University in Budapest which also involved the study said, "Supervoid not completely empty. They are just very less dense."

"What we found was the largest ever found supervoid. With the combination of size and emptiness, our supervoid very less dense. We estimate that there are only a few supervoid this magnitude in the universe," said Kovacs.

The discovery of this supervoid little shed some light on the mystery of "cold spots". Areas that may be cooler and have fewer galaxies because of the presence of large supervoid at its center.

The existence of supervoid can decipher the mystery of "cold spots" because the universe continues to expand as it is understood today, photons of light would move more slowly when crossing the void.

Along entered supervoid, the kinetic energy of photons of light is converted into potential energy. Imagine the movement of photons of light entering the supervoid like human climbing the hill.

In a universe that is stationary or not fluffy, the light of photons will get more kinetic energy is so out of supervoid. Thus, the speed will be just as fast. Imagine like a man down the mountain.

However, the expanding universe, the scenario is different. Space will be larger so supervoid, if considered as a hill, will be lower when humans descend. Therefore, the speed of light photons will be slower when it came out.

Although it gives a little insight, supervoid only accounted for 10 percent of the anomalies "cold spot". Thus, the findings have not been able to solve the mystery of "cold spots", it added to the list of questions to be answered.

"Now we have to answer how the void was formed. This is a very rare phenomenon," said Roberto Trotta of Imperial College London who was not involved the study as quoted by The Guardian, on Monday, April 20, 2015. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE GUARDIAN]

A slick designed Hot rod

In any industry there are innovators who change the playing field. Think back to what Facebook did with social media, or what iTunes did to modern music. Something comes along, and we're all utterly blown away.

In the early 1980s, hot rodding was by no means in its infancy, but that didn't stop a partnership of two men from substantially transforming the scene. One of those men was Jamie Musselman, a Texas oil magnate and car collector; the other was hot rod legend Boyd Coddington. The very first product of that patron-artist partnership was Coddington's famous 1933 Ford Roadster. It cemented his spot on the hot rodder's map and went on to set a new standard of hot rod fit and finish.

The clean cut simplicity is quite deceiving for sure. Coddington rigorously reshaped the Ford's grille and cowl angles to match the rake of the windshield, while also crafting a commanding profile from the roadster's snout all the way to the rear. Subtle tweaks and tucks to the body give the viewer the impression that every Ford Roadster was meant to look exactly like this.

Interestingly, the wheels (seen directly above) were cut from a sold piece of billet aluminum and were the very first set Coddington built, effectively the set that started the whole Coddington wheels craze.

But strip away the iconic bodywork and its footwear, and Roadster still impresses. The '33 Roadster chassis features a hand-fabricated unequal-length-control arm front suspension and a heavily modified independent rear suspension gleaned from a Corvette. Under the hood lies a potent 5.8-liter Chevrolet V8, but key to Musselman's wishes, the car was set up to be a driver rather than a twice-a-year show car. In fact, Musselman once told Coddington that the '33 Roadster “ran better than my 928 Porsche.”

It made its grand debut at the annual Roadster Show in Oakland, California for 1982 and instantly came away as the show favorite, winning the coveted America's Most Beautiful Roadster award, which Coddington likened to wining the Indy 500 or taking home on Oscar for the hot rod world. But it wasn't all good press and fanfare. Many saw the big budget build as a significant blow to the backyard hot rodder and a seminal change in the hot rod scene. No longer was 'good' considered 'great', and it earned the pair some unwanted ire from within the community.

It certainly didn't hamper their partnership however. Over the years, Musselman enlisted Coddington to build 16 cars in total, though this is the one that steals our hearts. There are now innumerable “ultra rods” prowling hot rod shows and city streets, yet many still point to Coddington's '33 Roadster and affirm its status as one of the game-changing greats. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BOYD CODDINGTON GARAGE | BOLDRIDE]
