Going to Venus (Part-1)

NASA's ambition to build the 'floating city' over the clouds of Venus
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to India's ISRO busy to send a satellite, and the daredevil astronauts who were prepared to run a one-way mission, Curiosity rover sent to the surface to look for signs of life there, if we can detect alien's life in there. Now the Red Planet to be excellent space exploration goals.

As a close neighbor of the Earth and its similarity to human habitation, the Red Planet is the best destination for human exploration of outer space. However, in terms of distance, it is not the best candidate.

Another neighbors of the Earth, Venus is closer, between 38 to 261 million kilometers. Meanwhile, Mars is in the 56 to 401 million. Venus was almost the same size of the Earth, also has the density and chemical composition are almost similar. However, why the planet takes its name from the goddess of love was not a priority of human expedition?

It was not easy to reach the Venus. Man-made satellites were sent to the surface, the longest is only 2 hours, before perishing due to the severity of the condition on the planet. The harsh conditions including atmospheric pressure is 92 times greater than the Earth, the air temperature reaches 462 degrees Celsius, which is too fierce volcanic activity, extreme density of the atmosphere composed mostly of carbon dioxide, a little nitrogen, and a layer of clouds made of acid sulfate.
To cope with the extreme conditions, NASA racked the brain and finally found a way that allows people examine closely the Venus. Namely, building a floating city on the top layer of very reflective sulfuric acid of the Venus clouds which makes the surface of the planet can not be seen clearly from space.

The scientists from the Systems Analysis and Concepts Directorate at NASA's Langley Research Center to design a concept spaceship called The High Altitude Venus Operational Concept (HAVOC) for use in missions to the Venus.

As quoted from CNET on Monday, December 22, 2014, a lighter rocket than air is designed to float on a cloud that envelops Venus for a period of 30 days, which allows teams of astronauts to collect data about the planet's atmosphere.

Unlike on the surface of Venus that will kill a human, by floating on a cloud, at an altitude of 50 kilometers, the conditions experienced there similar to Earth - where almost the same atmospheric pressure and gravity are only slightly lower than our planet. These conditions allow the astronauts to stay relatively long, also effectively eliminates the side effects that often occur during a stay in a long time in zero gravity conditions.

The temperature at the altitude ranges from 75 degrees Celsius, which is much hotter than Earth, but can still be controlled. Being in the atmosphere of Venus at that height also offers protection from the sun's radiation (to be Continued). *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CNET]

It's the fast-mini car of India

This Indian mini car, Tata Nano got a magic touch of JA Motorsport, an Indian automotive modificator transformed into the fast-mini car.

Initially, with the title as the cheapest car in the world make the Nano specification was limited, but its rear wheel drive system could be made as a modifications capital into the fast-mini car. This JA Motorsport composition cars is called Super Nano, because the specification is now much different from the standard model.

The first, its 2-cylinder and 624cc engine was replaced with a 1.3L engine that capable of producing 230hp with the position of the engine is under the rear seat. Total power generated from the previous jumped nearly 200hp, and the car maximum speed is 190 kph. So the claim as the cheapest car now turned into the fast-mini car.

Accompanying its engine power, so the Super Nano aerodynamic reinforced with body kit, roll bar bolt on type became standard features. The "ornament" in the cabin is not only that, there are a lot of carbon fiber material on the seats, steering wheel and gear lever. Although not explained this car can be used on the track or road legal.

Analyzing from the fourth tire position is widened, it can be concluded there was improvement in the chassis. On the legs sectors are also equipped with disc braking system on all wheels.

All quality would cost, JA Motorsport claimed to have spent up to 2.5 million rupees, or about Rp. 500 million to make the Super Nano becomes real. And with that much money could be used to buy 12 units of the cheapest Nano.. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | JA MOTORSPORT | INDIANAUTOBLOGMOTORAUTHORITY]

There is a good cop and bad cop, the latter is always made a headache and frightening for the community, because the police task that should protect but sometimes works in reverse.

Los Angeles is no exception, in there may also exist the bad cops so recently the LAPD has been purchasing body-worn cameras in a large number (about 7,000 units) which will be provided to all police officer in there.

By using a Taser Axon body camera that costs US $399 (about Rp. 5 million) and expected will be the proof that the LAPD would be transparent and increased the confidence level of LA citizens.

As seen on the Taser official website, this camera has some advantages such has wider viewing angle than its competitors (130 degrees) and start recording automatically before arriving at the location (pre-event buffering) so that it can collect more evidence photos. Equally important, this camera has a battery that can last for 12 hours.

This camera also provides convenience in terms of storing all the data, every police officers will simply put it in a data transfer tool that has been provided and the data can be stored in the storage locally or in the cloud, precisely in Evidence.com. Back to the LAPD, in the early stages there will be 800 cameras were immediately used by LAPD officers.

It seems the police in Indonesia also have to use it, instead of do not believe but there is nothing wrong to applied this technology because so far there are still many bad cops are often did contrary conduct. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | TASER | ENGADGET]

Discovered an ancient cemetery, where millions of mummies resides

Archaeological team from Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah, United States find historic sites in Egypt, which is an ancient graveyard into a dwelling for more than 1 million mummies.

The cemetery was called Fag el-Gamous - which literally means 'the Buffalo Water Way', as the name of the street near the cemetery. So that was quoted by DailyMail on Wednesday, December 17, 2014.
Scientists have already excavated more than 1,700 mummies, preserved by the hot dry desert in the Faiyum region of Egypt about 60 miles (96km) south of Cairo. They believe there are around a million to be found. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1C1B0Nx)
These findings obtained by a team of American archaeologists after a long research in a number of pyramids around the cemetery for about 30 years. During this period, they found more than 1 million mummies.
The mummies were found in deep shafts hacked into the limestone bedrock beneath the surface of the desert. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1C1B0Nx)
From The location structure, the scientists believe that the millions of mummies were buried in about 1,500 years ago when the Byzantine or Eastern Roman Empire ruled Egypt from Ages 1st to 7th century AD.

"We believe this cemetery is a place for more than 1 million mummies. The place is very spacious and 'solid'," said Kerry Muhleistein, the archaeologist chairman who is also Professor in the Ancient Book of Brigham Young University.

On the exposure which conveyed by Kerry in his presentation at the Society for the Study of Egyptian Antiquities Scholars Colloquium in Toronto, in November 2014.

He explained, the funeral is not the final resting place for kings or nobles, but ordinary people. Because millions of mummies buried without a coffin. "I'm not sure whether the mummy in this place are those who also was mummified or embalmed in bulk," said Kerry.

Archaeologists also found a number of valuable items that allegedly belonged to the mummies. For example, linen, mirror, and colorful shoes. "There are a lot of possessions they had and placed in this cemetery."

Furthermore, said Kerry, other findings are a child mummy that buried with some adults mummies. This small mummy was wearing a necklace and two bracelets on each arm.
A mummified 18 month old girl with bracelets still on both arms was recently found at the Fag el-Gamous site. (Picture from: http://dailym.ai/1C1B0Nx)
Researchers suspect that the little mummy is a 18 month old baby girl. With the way the bodies were so maximum burial indicates that the family is very fond of her.

"We found evidence that they tried to embalm the corpse to the maximum. The fingers and toenails, tongue and brains preserved extraordinary," said Kerry. "They managed to do it perfectly. That's beautiful funeral for her."

From where the actual origin of those mummies? Can not be ascertained. Archaeologists are still investigating. There are allegations that they are citizens of the Ancient City of Philadelphia in Egypt, but the size of a small town, not comparable to the width of the cemetery were found.

Meanwhile, a small pyramid near cemetery is built on more than 4,500 years ago, 2,000 years older than the funeral.

Furthermore physically, the mummies were measuring 7 feet or about two meters. The outstanding high at that time, where the population is undernourished. "It's really incredible. We've found the mummified man more than 2 meters high, and too high to put this funeral," said Kerry. Hence, he was buried with a stooped posture.

Previous findings stated that the mummies are blond and red. "These allegations reap if they live clustered in one area or move," said Kerry. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | DAILYMAIL]
