Is Mercedes Benz making a new hybrid hypercar?

Apparently, the renowned German automotive manufacturer Mercedes Benz is developing a fastest hypercar. In fact, two-door vehicle, named Mercedes Benz R50 is claimed to have the engine power almost equal to Bugatti Chiron.

The difference is, the development of the engine will be embedded in the R50 this time, already carrying the hybrid technology. And the driving system is equipped with two electric motors to drive the front wheels. While the rear-wheel drive still comes from the conventional machines.

As quoted from Leftlanenews on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, technically the second electric motor capable of generating power up to 300 hp. For conventional engine power generated rumor says it reached 1,000 hp.

Besides having a large enough engine power, Mercedes R50 also developed to have a total weight fairly light of 2900 kg. Most construction R50 is made of carbon fiber. And the R50's suspension system, the Mercedes Benz will rely on the suspension of GT R variant that launched some time ago.

Rumored Mercedes Benz will launch this new hypercar next year to commemorate the AMG racing division 50th anniversary. The price offered to bring this hypercar reach the US. $3 million or equivalent to Rp.39 billion.
