Tricity using Multi Wheel Leaning mechanism (LMW), which used similar technology of rival Italian manufacturer, Piaggio MP3 125, however LMW is a Yamaha patent. The system makes the front wheels leaning and tilted to adjust the chassis when cornering.

Tricity can do so because of parallelogram link that makes the rider can tilt the vehicle as a regular motorcycle. Another important component is a special telescopic front fork cantilever type tandem with two separate tubes at each wheel. Its function is keeping the distance between the two front wheels during cornering while maintaining steady handling when on bumpy roads. The technology is different from the Piaggio MP3 which uses coil-over shock on the front wheels.
