Donkervoort, No Compromise!

Not many are familiar with this brand, but once knew surely instantly fascinated. Donkervoort, an ultra-light weight sports car brand which has a pretty interesting design. This car is only produced in limited quantities and are hand made production.

Donkervoort has been the exclusive automobile manufacturers that are inspired by the Lotus-7 model. The company was established in 1978 as a result of Joop Donkervoort's desire to create his own sports car, has produced a symbol of freedom, pure driving pleasure and enjoyment for the brand as well as road car production.

Effect of becoming a super light track car manufacturer that is not too often put out new models. Therefore, when they announced the all-new D8 models, this is great news. And now there are even more great news, because the first 6 units has completed off the assembly line in Lelystad and already in the hands of their new owners.

Donkervoort has a lot of experience with Audi 4-cylinder engine, but this is their first model to use the TFSI 5-cylinder 2.5-liter Audi's engine, which could produces between 340-380 hp depending on its tuning. Torque tops out at 450 Nm from about 1,600 rpm. To access the extra power, a switch is located in the dashboard, next to a button for the traction control, another first for the D8.

This combined with a total weight of only 680.39 kg (1,500 lbs) to make this car very quickly accelerates from 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in just 2.8 seconds. Its weight was lightly partly derived from a minimalist design, but the use of composite materials and a lot of carbon fiber body.

All new D8 (GT, GTO, 270) models that are manufactured by Donkervoort have the race car basic elements such as anti-roll bars that make the car owners prefer to bring Donkervoort sportcars to circuits than the highway.
The price of the new GTO is between €100,000 and €150,000 excluding taxes. At the first viewing half of the first 25 specially designed GTOs are part of a series of numbers known as Premium D8 GTO were sold.
