Apparently Humans do not Stand Silent More Than 45 Minutes

Adage says silence is golden, but the man was not resistant to the silence for more than 45 minutes. That is the record for the longest time is achieved by volunteers in the "anechoic chamber" at Orfield labs in South Minneapolis, USA.

The lab was a place to test the limits of human patience in the face of silence. The most quiet places in the world is a room measuring 3x3 square meters consisting of thick fiberglass acoustic board 1 meter is affixed perpendicularly, plus a double wall insulation and armored concrete walls as thick as 30 centimeters.

Such a configuration makes the room to absorb 99.99 percent of the sound and create a level of silence at -9.4 decibels. The human ear can generally hear higher than zero decibels.

Previously owned by Eckel Industries room is used to test the noise range of machines and electronic devices. One of the tools tested in this room is a sound monitor felepon smart phones.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) plans to use this room to test the durability of an astronaut. In the absence of noise, is estimated to experience a sense of awkward man by the sound that should not be heard. NASA wants to know how well the astronaut concentrate in silence.

Laboratory owner, Steven Orfield, said the man could hear his own heartbeat in this room. Stomach sound movement also sounded very loud. Sometimes the heart sounds could be heard.

"Inside this room, your body becomes the source of sounds," Orfield said. Experience is what disrupt the uncommon human experience. Disorientation in conditions like this, he said, people should sit. If too long to be in the room, will begin to experience hallucinations.

Laboratory records show humanly possible to survive in the quiet room is 45 minutes. Orfield itself only lasts for 30 minutes in solitude. Apparently he could not bear to hear the voice of an artificial heart machine installed in his body. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | DAILYMAIL | ANTON WILLIAM | KORAN TEMPO 3846]
