The Rarest Motorcycle in the World

Throughout the history of the motorcycle, nothing is more rare than this motorcycle. Well, a Traub motorcycle was produced in 1916, now on display at the Wheels Through Time Museum, USA.

The motorcycle history is very unique, including the time of the discovery. At 45 years ago, when the motorcycle was discovered by a worker in an old apartment in Paulina Street, Chicago, when he will knock down one of the walls of the building. Not mistaken, when the wall collapsed, and the figure of this old bike saw.

An elderly, the old apartment building owner claimed that her son had stolen a motorcycle before he went to participate in World War I, and never came back since then the possibility he was killed in the war. But who makes and where was the motorcycle coming from, the elderly did not know about it and until now the mystery has not been revealed.

When cleaned, known then the engine is very powerful. These 1916 Traub motorcycle is equipped with the 80 cubic-inch side valve engine, handmade piston with the best piston ring and most advanced of its time.

Here are several engine pictures of the 1916 Traub motorcycle. (All pictures taken from: http://bit.ly/1XGIEFl)

Everything inside the bike is very special and extraordinary. Motorcycle piston is handmade, and has a piston ring with good quality, the design of the motorcycle and its engine is most advanced of its time," said Dale Walksler, one of the classic motorcycle expert and also manager of the museum, as quoted from Leatherup blog, on Thursday, August 28, 2015.

Not only that, the bike is made of cast iron and has a side valve. With the power generated by the engine, making this bike is capable of carrying its riders ran over 136 kph easily. Unfortunately, until now, who was built these sophisticated motorcycle is still a mystery.

From several sources that we had managed to collect, it is likely that built those bike is Gottlieb Richard Traub (1883-1954) of Chicago. He was not just a talented machinist who lived in Chicago from at least 1900 to 1920, but he was also very interested in motorcycles.
Most likely the builder of these 1916 Traub motorcycle is Gottlieb Richard Traub (1883-1954). He was a talented machinist who lived in Chicago from at least 1900 to 1920, and interested enough in motorcycles to have his own shop, as seen in the picture. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/20iw6pR)
He was interested enough in motorcycles to have his own shop, as seen in the picture, and he wrote letters to the editor of Motorcycle Illustrated in both 1907 and 1910. in one of the letters to the editor he describes a motorcycle he was building that matches the 1916 Traub’s specs..
This 1916 Traub motorcycle ever changed hands several times before finally tucked neatly in the Wheels Through Times Museum since 1990. In addition, the museum also collects approximately 300 other rare motorcycles. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | WHEELS THROUGH TIME | MOTORCYCLE CLASSICS | LEATHERUP]

Gem-filled tomb found in ancient Greek city

Archaeologists have recently managed to find the grave of a soldier from the Bronze Age were filled with precious metals and colorful gemstones in an ancient city in Greece. The tombs dating from 3500 BC - 1500 BC was discovered by an international research group led by archaeologists from the University of Cincinnati.

Among the artifacts found in the ancient tomb, there is a sword of bronze with ivory handles coated with gold, gold cup as well as hundreds of beads made of precious stones such as amethyst and jasper. Also surrounded by the remains of the Mycenaean warrior who lived near what is now the town of Pylos, the southwest coast of Greece.

Archaeologists did not expect this discovery earlier because within a few decades, researchers from the University of Cincinnati has been dug around the city of Pylos as part of Pylos Regional Archaeology Project are trying to uncover the historical center of the Bronze Age known as the Palace of Nestor, a complex of extensive mentioned in the Legend of Homer.

When they dig in a particular field in May, archaeologists think they will uncover the remains of a Bronze Age house, said Jack Davis, a professor of Greek archeology at the University of Cincinnati and one of the researchers who participated in the dig this ancient tomb.

Mycenaean grave is rectangular burial structures were buried in the ground deep enough. This soldier graves hole as deep as 1.5 meters by 1.2 meters wide and 2.4 meters long. The rchaeologists digging ancient tombs for 2 weeks with a depth of about 1 meter before revealing one of the treasures that have been buried along with the bodies of soldiers from the Bronze Age.

Until finally discovered ancient treasures one by one. In addition to the weapons of gold and precious beads, also found some soldiers with some amount of wealth such as carved ivory statue depicting griffon and a lion Midfight. In the tomb also contained dozens of seal stones or gems carved with images of goddesses and animals that may be produced on the island of Crete.

Ancient Mysteries

Researchers are still trying to figure out who this ancient soldier or perhaps the remains of soldiers from the Royal Nestor who lived near the Palace of Nestor about 200 or 300 years, says Sharon Stocker, a senior researcher from the University of Cincinnati.

This is not the legendary tomb of King Nestor who led the Greeks forces at Troy in Homer's 'Iliad. Nor is it the grave of his father, Neleus. And this may be the tomb of an important figure at the time of the Greek section dealing with the island of Crete, an island with the most advanced civilization in Europe, Stocker said in a statement.

The number of stone seal found in tombs and other artifacts, indicating that whoever this ancient warrior he had some kind of association with Crete Island, a civilization place for the Minoan tribe.

The discovery of this treasure tomb could help researchers to answer other important questions about the history of this area during the Bronze Age. The rulers in the Palace of Nestor covering all modern Messinia in western Greece were inhabited about 50,000 inhabitants at that time.

But the discovery of the tomb of the soldier precedes this regulation. This indicates that the area began to develop before King Nestor appear, according to the researchers. Is the area at the graves of soldiers gained their wealth by robbing or trading is one of the unsolved mysteries. Davis and Strocker hope to solve the mystery of the present invention. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | LIVESCIENCE]

Toyota Mirai goes 'Back to the Future'

Of course you all remember the 'Back to the Future' movie. And yesterday, on October 21, 2015 is a day where Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd), Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and his girlfriend Jennifer Parker (Elizabeth Shue) arrived from the past, October 26 1985 uses the old Delorean car.

In the video duration is less than five minutes, Toyota showed how the gas is processed in a factory and then shipped to the hydrogen gas filling stations. Michael J. Fox, also commented. "For a long time we were guessing what the technology of our films that will really happen in the real world." The brand also revealed the full video of Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) and Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd)’s reunion:
In August, Mirai has ordered up to 1,000 units in Japan. The order allows Toyota to increase Mirai production capacity in Motomachi Plant, Toyota Motor Corp. in Japan, as well as create Mirai pivot process must wait for one to two years.

Results of tests conducted by Toyota Motor Corporation, Toyota Mirai has a cruising range of up to 700 kilometers on a single charge of fuel. Greeting the public, especially in Japan and America to the Mirai hydrogen technology was very good because it is more efficient and environmentally friendly. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | GIZMAG | SLASHGEAR]

Oxygen turned out really exist in the Comet

The presence of oxygen in the comet is not groundless. In a publication in the journal Nature on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 revealed that the oxygen is really present in the comet.

The presence of oxygen in the comet was revealed thanks to the analysis conducted by scientists at the data from the Rosetta, a spacecraft which flew along with the robot Philae to browse the world of comets.

Since October 2014 and, Rosetta spacecraft passing near the Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko. Those spacecraft were also landed a robot the size of a washing machine named Philae on its surface.

With the help of the Rosina instrument on Rosetta spacecraft, scientists analyzed coma or comet dust. They find oxygen in free form in addition contained in water vapor, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide.

The discovery of free oxygen was very surprising. Kathrin Altwegg from Bern University who participated in the research said that, at first scientists thought the research data is wrong.
Oxygen was the fourth most common element found near the comet. (Picture from: http://bbc.in/1Hi9Qkl)
"When we look at the data the first time, we were a bit deny because the results are not in accordance with what is expected to be found in a comet," she said.

That's because oxygen is a molecule which easily reacts with other elements. These results indicate that oxygen is formed in the early solar system and trapped in the comet material.

"This is the most surprising discovery that we managed to make today," said Altwegg as quoted by the BBC on Wednesday, October 28, 2015.

Current theory says, the solar system was formed with the full "violence". The formation process of heating the oxygen contained in hail and make it react with other elements.

However, with this discovery, the formation of the solar system may not "as hard" as previously thought. The process may be more "peaceful" and "gentle". *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BBC]
