Renata Huber from the Ministry of Culture and Archaeology Switzerland said that the mammoth fossil discovery was interesting. Because the discovery of mammoth fossils last occurred 50 years ago.

However, unfortunately, although the entire area where the discovery of the mammoths fossils that have been investigated, the team could not get the whole mammoth bones to reconstruct them in their entirety, as was previously done on the mammoth fossil findings in Zurich.

Until now, experts are trying to investigate the age of the fossil mammoth sure are then used as the data related to the study of ancient inhabitants of species millions of years ago. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | NEWS SOFTPEDIA]

The first known venomous frogs found in Brazil

Finding the poisonous frog is not surprising. However, finding a venomous frogs, especially if its venom come out of the head, then it is very special.

Edmund Brodie from Utah State University and Carlos Jared of the Instituto Butantan in Sao Paulo spends of their life to studying the food chain inter-species of amphibians in Latin America.

In one of their expeditions in the Caatinga jungle in Brazil, Carlos holds a frog species. Not surprisingly, then, his hand ached and burned for approximately 5 hours. Initially, he did not connect the pain with frogs. It realized until he observed the new frog collection, and realize that the amphibians remove toxins.
An image shows sharp spines protruding from the skull of the venomous frog, C. greeningi. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1KYFNBC)
Moreover, he found that the frog produces venom. The head of species called Greening's frog that there is a similar bulge thorns. That bulge that remove the venom. The discovery of venomous frogs is something special. Many frogs can produce toxins, but very few were found to produce a deadly poison.

Poisonous and venomous are different things. Poisonous frogs have a passive defense. Toxins will only kill if opponent frogs or another animals in contact or eat it. Not so the venomous frogs. This type has an active defense, capable of deliberately inserting a similar bulge thorn to kill the opponent.

In the expedition, Brodie and Carlos found two species of venomous frogs as well. The venomous frog that held by Carlos is 'Corythomantis greeningi'. Meanwhile another frog is 'Aparasphenodon brunoi'.
Utah State University biologist Edmund "Butch" Brodie, Jr., right, and toxinologist Pedro Mailho-Fontana of Brazil's Butantan Institute. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1KYFNBC)
The venom of the two types of frogs are very deadly. For comparison, the toxins of C. greningi two times more lethal than pit viper snake, while A. bruni 25 time more lethal. Where for every one gram of venom capable of killing 300,000 mice or 80 humans. Because of toxicity, the CBS authors called the two frogs as "frogs from hell".

However, for one-time injection of venom wasn't probably equivalent to one gram. So it does not mean that when we exposed to the toxins of frogs then we instantly die.

"Finding the venomous frogs are something we never expected, and found the kind that secrete poison more deadly than pit viper snake is something very admirable," said Brodie. The findings were published in the journal Current Biology on this month edition. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SCI-NEWS.COM]

It is the first time a Elasmosaurus fossil has been found in Alaska. The above image is a painting made by James Havens, an artist from Anchorage, depicting life in the ocean at the end of the Mesozoic era that shows Elasmosaurus who were swimming.

Patrick Druckenmiller, a curator of Earth Sciences said in a statement, "So far, we have only to imagine how the shape of the giant mythological creatures, and now we can really know how to shape. This is an exciting discovery because it is the first Elasmosaurus ever found in Alaska."

Some of the vertebrate fossil skeleton was first discovered by Curvin Metzler, a fossil collector who lives in Anchorage. He has hiked in the area for 25 years and saw fossilized bones sticking out of a cliff. The skeleton was located about half way from the vertical cliff as far as 60 feet.

The team has managed to dig the fossil partially but there are still some left to be excavated and plan to return next summer. Scientists estimate that at least the specimen length measuring of 25 feet. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FORBES | CAPITAL WIRED]

Unfortunately, this project still leaves a shortfall. DAMD apparently did not come to replace the innards or car engine. They continue to use the original Toyota engine. However, apart from that, this work deserve invite admiration.
