A state fraction of Czechoslovakia was successfully build a supercar, named R1. Supercar maker is claimed to have an affordable price compared supercar made Europe's top automotive manufacturers, such as reported by Carscoops on Tuesday, 24 June 2014.

Praga as a manufacturer of R1 wants to abolish the notion that an affordable sport car was produced at random and not using quality materials. Therefore Praga in creating R1 trying to present a car that has high performance but at affordable prices.

When viewed at a glance, the design of the face of R1 is almost similar to the design of the Ferrari 458 that has vertical headlamp design. The design is flat and sloping aims to maximize the aerodynamics of the car like a F1 racing car.

To suppress the price, Praga will installed the supercar with a small capacity engine capable of spraying power but big enough ie a Renault RS engine that has a capacity of 2.0 liter.

Praga said that the supercar prototype introduced in Britain Donington Park circuit is not going to their mass production. The manufacturer still wants to improve R1 by creating R1 Turbo that carries the turbo and electric propulsion. For the price, Praga still not divulge what price range is priced for what they say the affordable supercar. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CARSCOOPS]

Is Ferrari will make cheap supercar?

After successfully creating the California T which is the entry level sport car, Ferrari is now preparing an idea about cheap supercars based on the 458 generation. Fact, the capacity of the engine of the latest Ferrari sport car will have capacity under the three-liter with six-cylinder engine configuration.
The supercar concept will based on 458 variant and carry a 2.9-liter V6 engine capable of spraying power of 500 hp. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1phBaLo)
Ferrari seems to not want that sport car market which they have mastered it was taken by McLaren. As we know Mclaren is being intensively make the latest models have a wild performance, especially McLaren has succeeded in creating P13, a cheap supercar concept.

As reported by Topspeed on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, the last time Ferrari configured six cylinder engine wear at Dino models were retired in 1974. Since then all Ferrari's V6 engine dedicated exclusively to F1 racing cars between 1980 and 1988.

The Ferrari's cheap supercar will carry a 2.9-liter V6 engine and is equipped with a twin turbocharged. This supercar is expected to be a formidable challenger in the sports car segment which has been dominated by Porsche 911.

Besides being more economical, this supercar will be very popular in China and some countries are implementing high taxes on vehicles with engine capacity above three liters. What's more, Ferrari has had a tailor-made center in Shanghai that can accommodate customization of consumer demand in China and Asia.

According to reports, this supercar is capable of spraying power of 500 hp and torque of 400 lb-ft. Greater engine output is certainly tempting supercar lovers who may prefer a Ferrari than McLaren P13 and Porsche 911 Turbo when considered in terms of engine power produced.

Ferrari's supercar will be a realistic option amid rising oil prices and regulations that require vehicle emissions produced should be as low as possible. Meanwhile, for the price range of unnamed supercar will be priced in the range between U.S. $200 thousand - $250 thousand or approximately Rp. 2.4 billion - Rp. 3 billion. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | TOPSPEED]

Discovered an Earth-sized diamond

Instead of pretending to poetic when astronomers said, 'This star is a diamond'. The heavenly bodies indeed true a giant gem that has an Earth-sized.

Scientists have recently identified what is probably the coldest white dwarf ever detected. White dwarfs are considered as the end point of the evolution of a star and a star's core where fusion takes place. Or in other words, the final form of burned out after presumed dead.

The faint stars 'bodies' are so cold, that makes the whole carbon crystallized. Or effectively forming an Earth-sized diamonds. "It is a remarkable object," said David Kaplan, the leader of the study and professor of University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in a statement issued by the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), as quoted from SPACE on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. "Objects that certainly there, but because it is so dim, it is hard to find."

Kaplan and his colleagues could find the existence of the cosmic jewel is more striking thanks to its companion. The white dwarf orbital doing a dance with a pulsar - a neutron star that rotates rapidly, which is formed from a supernova explosion that sends radio waves flow like a lighthouse beam.
An image taken in visible light at the SOAR telescope of the field of the pulsar/white dwarf pair. The exact location of the white dwarf is known to a pixel. But it’s not there. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1lOjh2T)
It called PSR J2222-0137, the pulsar is located at location 900 light-years away from Earth, near the constellation Aquarius. Its existence for the first time detected belong NRAO Green Bank Telescope in West Virginia.

Astronomers realized that the radio signals from PSR J2222-0137 is sometimes hindered due to the companion object passes in front of it. By studying what was the barrier using the Very Large Baseline Array (VLBA) help scientists determine that the pulsar has a mass 1.2 times that of our sun. Meanwhile, the companion has a mass 1.05 times of the Sun.

The team suspected that the pulsar companion is a white dwarf, or a solid core remaining after the death of a star. Sure that the object can be detected using infrared rays, the researchers scan wearing Southern Astrophysical Research Telescope (SOAR) in Chile and 10 meters in diameter Keck telescopes in Hawaii. However, there is no instrument that can detect it.

"Based on radio observations, we know exactly where to look. So, we direct the SOAR there and collect light for 2.5 hours," said Bart Dunlap, a member of the team who is a graduate of the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

The final image obtained team, the companion 100 times more pale than any white dwarf orbiting the neutron star and 10 times more pale than white dwarfs known. "But we did not see anything. If there is a white dwarf in there, it's almost certain to be very cold."

When talking about the object of, 'cold' is a relative term. White dwarf itself is still smoldering with the temperature 2,700 degrees Celsius. But that means 5,000 times cooler than the core of the Sun.

Scientists say it will crystallize cold star carbon, similar to a diamond. Astronomers have a theory, objects like that there are many in the universe. However, 'diamond star' it is difficult to detect because it looks so sketchy. The study of this findings was published in the Astrophysical Journal. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SPACE]

As reported by Autoblog on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, that the four-door sedan that has the most futuristic designs in the 70s to 80s will be manufactured with a number less than a hundred units. The company would like to repeat that triumph was achieved by carrying back the Lagonda name on a premium sedan that they are working on at this time.
Consequently, Aston Martin asks Q as modified division to take over production of the Lagonda with customization services division Q. In addition to being slow, this limited production quantity also makes Lagonda will be very expensive.

Broadly speaking, the design of the latest Lagonda is not too much changed. Hood belongs to the premium sedan remains elongated with sharp head lamp design that resembles a shark but now has a much wider grille.

Aston Martin will retains  the sporty and futuristic design of Lagonda with its doors and side more modern when compared with other UK premium cars such as Bentley, Maserati, and Rolls Royce. Not only has a sporty design, Aston Martin will use the body of carbon composite materials to reduce vehicle weight.

On the engine section, Lagonda will use a machine that is the result of Rapide evolution ie V12 with a capacity of 5.9 liters and can generate power of 600 hp. The machine is powered by an eight-speed automatic transmission that was adopted from the Mercedes-Benz S65 AMG.

The latest rumor circulating mentions that the Lagonda will be formally introduced in the summer of 2014, but it remains unclear where the date or the exact location of this premium sedan introduced later. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOBLOG]
