Many people believe that the American and European engines are more muscular. As for the appearance, Japanese design is more flexible. If then everything are combined then the results would be extraordinary.
That's what Hideki Hoshikawa, a crew of Asterisk Custom Cycles (the motorcycle home modification company in Northern Japan) doing until succeeded to create a masterpiece from a Harley-Davidson Sportster.

That's what Hideki Hoshikawa, a crew of Asterisk Custom Cycles (the motorcycle home modification company in Northern Japan) doing until succeeded to create a masterpiece from a Harley-Davidson Sportster.
It stems from the a customer request who wanted a cafe racer style motorcycle. "I'm not interested in the old-style cafe racer. In my opinion, it is a time for modern cafe racer style," he commented. With a Harley-Davidson Sportster Evo engine, Hoshikawa successfully create the Avanzare, that's the name for his modern custom cafe racer bike ('Avanzare' word derived from the Italian language, which means 'development'). |

Amazingly this motorcycle immediately won the prestigious award, Best of Show at the LA Calendar Bike Show, in July, 2012. At first glance, the Avanzare is very slim despite carrying the typical of Harley-Davidson V-Twin engine. It does not feel stiff such an old-style cafe racer. All the lines are very flexible design and seemed to flow. His appearance was clean and light but still demonstrate the strong and dashing impression.
To that end, the framework overhauled and elevated a few centimeters from the standard. Its swing arm and twin shock absorbers removed, replaced with a swing arm and monoshock, which is inspired by the Honda NSR500 Grand Prix Racer. This motorcycle uses the Öhlins shock absorbers, including upside down front forks. Front fork tilt angle is narrowed, from 29 degrees looks "more lazy" be 24 degrees to make it look a little more sporty.

The all finished parts are then spliced with an addition of aluminum frame as a connection point for the tail. Including the Pro Circuit's exhaust taken from moto cross bike. The exhaust looks dominant as it is designed like a snake. Two part arises from the combustion chamber, then put together to be forwarded to the exhaust tip. While the oil filter is hidden in a tapered tail section.
Because this bike themed is modern cafe racer, then there's no round design fuel tank. Instead the tank created with the teardrop shaped, tapering down to the seat. While the colors were chosen to support the theme, is a mixture of brown and white, with simple graphics accented. To keep the vintage impression, there's a round light following chrome speedometer. Then, a blue patterned rim bars with a set of gold gear, making the Avanzare more attractive.
