5 Chevrolet's concept cars on SEMA 2013

Chevrolet was good at utilizing various events to introduce special variants. For example, in the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) event, which held on November 5-8, 2013 in Las Vegas Convention Center. SEMA is the world’s largest convention of automotive aftermarket parts and accessories.

The cars brand that made by General Motors is bringing various ranks, ranging from the tiny Spark, large sedans such as Impala, until Sonic RS as the concept car. The following are 5 car concept that was brought by Chevy at SEMA 2013,

Sonic RS Concept
Chevrolet is still prioritizing planning concept models, including variants of the Sonic RS. This Sonic RS is painted in a unique Lemon Peel Yellow hue combined with blue graphics, and tinted headlamps and fog lamps. The interior gets seats in black leather with Lark Yellow contrast stitching.

The concept was updated from top to bottom, and it includes engine performance, suspension, brake and appearance upgrades. Chevy has added a cold air induction system and high-flow exhaust system, to increase the power from its 1.4-liter engine turbocharged. Thus the engine will allow to deliver more power than its stock 138 hp and 148 pound-feet of torque. Until now Chevrolet is still keeping the output level of this concept car, but according to estimates it'll generated power ranges from 160 hp.

Performance of the Sonic RS is also equipped with a track-tuned suspension system that lowers the car’s ride and offers a sportier appearance. The concept sits on18-inch, split-five-spoke wheels combined with a higher-performance brake upgrade kit with Wilwood front calipers.

Spark EV Tech Performance Concept
An exciting one at SEMA, Chevrolet will also show the performance version of the Spark EV. The basic Spark EV is a battery-electric urban mini-car delivering 400 lb-ft (542 N·m) of instant torque—more than the classic 1969 Camaro SS muscle car with a 350 V-8. The EV It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds. Touted, Spark EV now has a better performance with the application of the algorithm of power-delivery system, to provide better acceleration.

Stronger axles support the greater power. Additional features on the performance concept include: custom exterior color and graphics, a unique backlit Chevrolet “bowtie” emblem in the grille and performance billet aluminum wheels; Chevrolet Accessory sill plates, floor mats and pedal covers; Body-color trim plates and green stitching on the shifter boot and steering wheel; A military-style flip-up “activation switch” on the instrument panel to add a fun, high-performance-oriented touch of style; and Lightweight features that enhance performance.

Cruze Diesel Concept
For those who prefer green technologies, Chevy also will feature a modified version of the Cruze diesel. Dubbed the Cruze Diesel concept, and with its 2.0-litre clean turbo-diesel engine, the Cruze Diesel delivers 350 Nm torque and has the capability to go from 0-60 in 8.6 seconds.

The performance concept adds a ground effects package by 3dCarbon, as well as an updated front fascia and chin spoiler. Inside, the sound system is upgraded with Kicker Audio components and an ambient lighting package.

Urban Cool Impala Concept
The Urban Cool concept builds on the Impala LTZ with custom-painted grille accents, Chevrolet Accessories concept ground effects and Chevrolet Accessories concept 20-inch wheels painted to match the grille accents.

Malibu LTZ Concept
The Malibu LTZ SEMA features performance-style ground effects and Chevrolet Accessories 19-inch wheels with a Sterling Silver finish. A Borla exhaust system lends a throatier note to the 259-hp, 2.0L turbocharged engine. A concept Stage Kit and cold-air induction system support greater performance, from an engine that already delivers 295 lb-ft of torque (400 N·m), the most in its class.

All the SEMA concepts feature accessories designed to allow personalization while maintaining refinement and ride characteristics. General Motors’ engineers developed most of the accessories shown on the concept vehicles. Some of the accessories are available from Chevrolet dealers. Others are being evaluated for production.
