New Chapter of the HP Tablet

HP SLATE 8
HP TouchPad was a dark history of Hewlett-Packard. Launched on July 1, 2011, the first tablet from the vendor based in Palo Alto, California, was declared to stop production 49 days later. Not only that, Web OS, the operating system used on this tablet, also donated by HP and became an open platform.

HP TouchPad.
Since then, HP TouchPad price plummeted to "only" U.S. $ 99, or around Rp. 850 thousand for the 16 gigabyte version and $ 149 (approximately Rp. 1.3 million) for the TouchPad with a capacity of 32 gigabytes.

Though the initial price is quite competitive tablet, which is U.S. $ 500. But seeing the sluggish market, the price slowly fell to U.S. $ 450, then fell further to U.S. $ 400, until finally stopping at U.S. $ 99. It died young.

Entering the market dominated by Apple iPad tablet is not easy. However, HP did not give up. Meg Whitman led the company is again trying her luck with the second tablet, the HP Slate 8.

By using the Windows 8 Professional operating system, a segment that HP has clearly targeted the businessman or professional users. Not only that. In the HP Slate 8 tablet, HP adds security features, such as HP ProtectTools Software and Computrace.

HP Slate 8 also participated in a "race" thin compete with other brands. Reportedly only 9.2 mm thickness. Difference of 0.2 millimeters thinner than the New iPad. The weight is about 680 grams with a 10.1-inch display.
