5 Car Designs of Student's Work

The creativity of product design student has received a positive appreciation of a number of global auto manufacturers. In fact, there is the work of students from Asia who received the highest award from Ferrari. More than that, now the students were already involved car manufacturers to develop their latest products. Here are five car designs created by students who collaborate with the world's automobile manufacturers.

1. Ferrari Eternita
This concept is the work of three students from South Korea for the future of Ferrari cars. This car concept shows futuristic design as well as elegant. The three students of Hongik University Seoul that Kim Cheong Ju, Ahn Dre, and Lee Sahngseok become champions in the annual design contest (World Design Contest).

The concept car named Eternita was able to defeat dozens of other competitors who represent about 50 universities from around the world selurah. Eternita design is not only focused on the exterior is made very elegant, but also emphasizes the reduction of fuel consumption through alternative system booster.

In this contest, the three students were able to resolve them with the design concept in the form of two-dimensional drawings, three dimensional and making 1:4 scale model. The award is given directly Ferrari Chairman Luca di Montezemolo.

2. Porsche 929
Design Porsche 929 was made a student at the Royal College of Art named Julliana Cho. The idea was inspired from the design of the Porsche 918 Spyder that looks aerodynamic character of the curve of her body and aggressive front display. These concepts are integrated with the design of the rear lights use LED technology and scissor cabin entrance.

Lines and curves of this Porsche 929 designed by Julliana Cho seems to flow seamlessly from front to back. The figure is reminiscent of sports car enthusiasts on the character design of the stern-BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics concept.

Porsche 929 is a 4 seater vehicle specially designed for an exclusive sharing car membership. Targeting the potential Porsche customers in both Asian and European major cities, it is suitable for long distance drive as a weekend family car. Rather than hiding that it’s shared, Porsche 929 shows more that it’s shared with symbolic design elements providing strong emotional benefit for the customers by making them feel proud to be part of the exclusive eco friendly membership.

The shared fluidic body frame structure is the identity of the sharing car club which links between the unique parking architecture and exterior styling with integrated form language creating  symbolic graphics of the design.

3. MUTE
German students from the Technical University Munich (TUM) to make the future of electric cars called MUTE. A total of 20 faculty at UTM and 30 companies in Germany such as Bosch, Daimler, BMW, Eibach, Michelin and many others working on cars together, prepared for mass produced it. Unique two-passenger car is quite sporty. As a source of energy is 15 Kw lithium battery that can travel as far as reaching up to 100 kilometers and speeds up to 120 km / hour. In order for a light weight body, then for the construction of the body using a plastic material and carbon fiber.

“Light weight becomes very important for electric vehicles. If the load more, would need a larger battery capacity and consequently higher costs. Our goal is to create an environmentally friendly car, but have affordable and comfortable driving,” said Professor Mark Lienkamp, Chairman of the Automotive Technology Department TUM. 

4. Lamborghini Madura
Slavche Tanevsky, a student at the University of Munich, Germany, creating a future concept car, Lamborghini Madura. Use of Madura, Tanevsky referring to the name of the island in Indonesia. This island, according to Tanevsky, famous for its bull. This concept is working Lamborghini and Audi. Lamborghini themselves prepare all project materials. 

This project is a product of the first hybrid Lamborghini scheduled to come out in 2016. The design is quite futuristic and elegant just like the Lamborghini Reventon and the Estoque.

The Lamborghini hybrid sticks to the brand’s performance and good looking basics, and gets a sleek and more aggressive profile. The hybrid powertrain is mounted up front, where the car has huge air intakes, a curvaceous hood and slim headlights.

5. Tesla EYE
Tesla in collaboration with a group of students at Instituto Europeo di Design (IED) of Turin makes the concept car called EYE. Designers like Luca Borgogno of Pininfarina and Franz von Holzhausen, Chief Designer of Tesla Motors oversee these activities. 

Considering there's almost no chance we'll ever see the EYE concept cruising the streets, we'll just have to enjoy the car for what it is: a good-looking show car with a Tesla badge.

Sure, we can imagine putting an electric powertrain in there and showing up at the soccer game in one of these, but for now we'll just have to click through the gallery below and ask ourselves if the IED students managed to create a new status symbol with the EYE, something they said they were shooting for.
