Toyota prepares an electric pickup prototype said to be the Hilux EV

nEW rIVAL Lately, the development progressing of electric-powered vehicles seems very rapidly, lots of automotive manufacturers from around the world are competing to develop these kind of vehicles with many reasons. The main thing, aside from being a form of concern for environmental issues, is also as an effort to anticipate the depletion of conventional fuel availability.

As well as one of the Japanese automotive giants, Toyota Motor Company (TMC) don't want to miss in the development of electric-powered vehicles, this can be seen after some time ago the Japanese manufacturer launched an electric-powered production car model named Toyota bZ4X, which is said to be the first to be seriously produced and sold under the Toyota's marque.

And the latest news from the Japanese manufacturer states that the company are also getting ready to launch the upcoming Toyota Hilux model in an electric-powered vehicle (EV) version. However the Hilux EV mentioned above wouldn't be launched in the near future.

The leak of the birth of the Toyota Hilux EV as one of dozens of the cars that will become the future of Toyota's electric car up to 2030. As is known, Toyota recently announced its plans to market electric-powered vehicles, one of them were produced and sold electric pick-up models which could be the Toyota Hilux 2024.

According to Akio Toyoda, President of Toyota who chaired the virtual press conference in person revealed many prototypes of electric cars called the "Dream Product Group". Unmitigated the Japanese automaker is ready to sell up to 30 models in the next eight years with an investment budget of up to ¥8-trillion ($70bn)!

Currently, the Toyota Hilux EV 2024 has been not revealed yet its true looks and identity. But in the list of Toyota's future electric concept cars, there is one prototype that has been introduced in the form of a modern and dashing electric-powered pick-up trucks.

Although it is still as the speculation, it is also possible that this car is the next generation of the current Toyota Hilux which will make the double cabin pick-up market hotter. Because in the almost same time in fact the new Tesla's controvertial Cybertruck has been introduced and has not been sold in general around the world.

If you want a quirky weird looking electric pick-up like the Tesla Cybertruck, you might be dissapointed. Because the design of the Toyota Hilux EV 2024 concept version is quite 'normal'. There is no such a rigid angled form of the roof as it's present in the Tesla Cybertruck.

Instead, there is a frightening appearance that at a glance is similar to the Toyota Tacoma circulating in North America today. Due to the size of the Toyota Tacoma itself is larger than the Toyota Hilux. So that the pick-up model is not properly called the successor to the Toyota Tacoma.

Furthermore, as you can be seen from the shape of the main headlight which appeared in a sharp angle at the inner end and showcases the use of a contemporary DRL and LED projector. The frightening and dashing impression is seen while maintaining the identity adopted of the new Toyota Tundra design with black panels and horizontal fog lamps at the bottom of the bumper. So that the pick-up feels thick with an aura of typical American pick-up.

The strong impression typical of Toyota's double cabin pickup also survives as You can see in a whole of the car. As seen in the grille of the Toyota Hilux EV 2024 itself, it only provides two horizontal holes at the top and bottom. While the large air grille is now coated in a body-matching white color with subtle honeycomb accents.

Turning to the side, the emphasis on a firm impression appears in the combination of the squared C-pillar and the rounded muscles on the door. There is also a clear line in the black wheel housing that matches the roof panels.
In the presentation of the EV pick-up figure, Toyota not reveal the platform would be used. However, it is likely that the e-TNGA electric vehicle platform used. As a support for mobility in all fields, an all-wheel-drive system and a relatively large battery are also prepared, as it also used in its SUV model, the Toyota bZ4X and said has a power of 71.4 kWh. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | TOYOTA | STUFF.CO.NZ | AUTOFUN | AUTOCAR | EVCENTRAL | DISPATCHLIVE.CO.ZA ]

The Cadillac InnerSpace concept is all about a calm, relaxing atmosphere and luxurious too

New Concept In major trade show such as the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2022 which took place in Las Vegas, United States some time ago, of course, many industry players attend and present their latest products.
The Cadillac InnerSpace concept car is the third of the 'Space' concept car series under development after the PersonalSpace and SocialSpace concepts revealed at the CES event last year. (Picture from: OtoDriver)
Likewise with General Motors (GM) revealed many things through its virtual conference at those events. One of the highlights is a concept car called InnerSpace is presented using Cadillac's badge as one of the luxury auto marque under the auspices of GM.
The Cadillac InnerSpace concept car has a spacious and comfortable cabin for two people and implies a relaxed impression with a sofa model, complete with pillows and plus a large digital screen in front of it. (Picture from: HiTechGlitz)
As is well known that Cadillac previously did have a "Space" concept series under development. As revealed at last year's CES event with the PersonalSpace and the SocialSpace. So the InnerSpace concept car revealed this time is the third of the "Space" concept.

As the name suggests, InnerSpace is all about creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere that is also luxurious. As quoted from Motor1, the American manufacturer built the InnerSpace concept as a fully autonomous car that allows users to interact with the outside world through existing digital connectivity using Artificial Intelligence (AI) software as personalization.

It is also mentioned that AI technology allows the car passengers to interact with various car functions through a large panoramic LED screen. Those screens offer everything from augmented reality to entertainment, suc as watching movies or playing video games.

“Electrification and autonomous driving will fundamentally change the role of vehicles and the experiences customers have with them,” said Bryan Nesbitt, the Executive Director of the GM' Global Advanced Design, and Global Architecture Studio.

"We are exploring where this is going with these innovative concepts. Envisioning mobility as a health advocate, giving customers the ultimate in luxury, more personal time than taking it," he continued.
The Cadillac InnerSpace concept car has a lot of openings ranging from the front, sides up to the roof, so it really allows passengers to see outside while the car is moving. (Picture from: HiTechGlitz)
And while there's no information about its engine or battery capacity, Cadillac says it has GM's Ultium platform and a wireless energy management system in which the battery modules are spread out throughout the concept vehicle, allowing for maximized interior space.
For now on, we couldn't expect much to get this kind of car in the Cadillac production line, because this car is limited to showing the vision of the GM flagship regarding their concept in the future. However estimated that there are several aspects of the InnerSpace that will become elements in the upcoming Cadillac cars. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CADILLAC | MOTORTREND | ID.MOTOR1 ]

A custom-built car inspired by the vintage futuristic car of the '50 and '60s

Jet&Rocket Inspired If we look at this one car, we could be seen the thick unique impression since beginning. How not, this car very clearly looks like a glinting alien craft floating above the ground featured with the sharp nose, the sweptback lines and clear double-bubble canopies. No wonder there are still people who ask, was it a spaceship, a plane, a jet-powered car?
This is the Thunderflite custom car built by Dean 'Dino' Arnold based of 1961 Ford Thunderbird. (Picture from: Barrett-Jackson)
Uniquely the custom car named the Thunderflite was not made by the car manufacturer, otherwise the brainchild of noted custom builder Dean 'Dino' Arnold, who has done more than a thousand modifications to the Ford Thunderbird of 1961 up to produce one of the most successful custom cars ever and shown up for the first time at the SEMA event back in 2008.
The Thunderflite custom car has unique appearence inspired of the the GM's futuristic prototypes of the '50s and '60s. (Picture from: Design-Dautore)
Don't be fooled! To most of the people seeing it for the first time, they probably thought it was a real vintage dream car rather than a modern custom. Besides due to it looks like has just been dusted off and shined up after being left for more than 40 years, also thanks to every detail pinned seem coming from the correct periods.
The Thunderflite custom car has debuted at the 2008 SEMA Show and crowned as 2008 Best of SEMA show by Popular Mechanics Magazine, voted in Top 12 Coolest Cars at SEMA 2008. (Picture from: PopularMechanics)
This unique concept car could be instantly recognizable thanks to its double-bubble canopy, 'chrome effects' paint and sweeping tailfins, it's clearly could be seen that the Thunderflite draws its inspiration from the American automaker futuristic prototypes of the '50s and '60s.
The Thunderflite custom car has a very contrasting color combination of chrome color and accents with red-leather are covered the seats, dashboards and others. (Picture from: Design-Dautore)
As quoted of the Street Machine, the automaker said that he tried to capture what it was like in the '50s and '60s when the American automaker such GM and others built their dream cars and with the help of his late wife Suzie, then he sketched it on a napkin, while to finalize the design, then he collaborated with Don Johnson.
The Thunderflite custom car has unique hallmark of double-bubble canopies such the Batmobile-esque. (Picture from: Design-Dautore)
Well, as the future car design in general made in the 1950s and 1960s were strongly inspired by the rampant of jet technology and space travel. So naturally, the car's design followed concepts such as the Pontiac Club de Mer, Oldsmobile Golden Rocket and Buick Centurion of 1956.

The Sony's 2nd EV prototype called Vision-S 02 is debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 which took place in Las Vegas, United States. (Picture from: LatestCarNews)
It turns out that it doesn't just stop there, in the early year of (2022) the Japanese company continued its experiments and again presented the figure of the latest electric-powered vehicle named the Sony Vision-S 02 which carried the style of 7-seats SUV. Like the predecessor, the newest Sony SUV prototype was also debuted at same event on this year which started on Wednesday, January 5, 2022.
The Sony Vision-S 02 is able to drive autonomously, and the Japanese company claimed the car's autonomous capability is reach the Level-2. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
As quoted of Paultan, the electric car is called the Sony Vision-S 02 due to it has a similar design to its predecessor, the Sony Vision-S and the only difference is its size, which is now much larger to accommodate a larger capacity (ie 7-seats).

Furthermore, the big difference does not only occur on the exterior, the Sony's SUV prototype is now equipped with a more sophisticated dashboard design that has three touch screens in the middle and two additional screens that function as rearview mirrors to display road conditions on the right or left, and also the rear of the car.
Inside the Sony Vision-S 02 cabin is now equipped with a more sophisticated dashboard design that has three touch screens. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
Then there is also a panoramic glass-roof that stretches from the front to the back of the car. As a result, the interior of this car looks more spacious because it seems as if it's naturely openned. Sony is also trying to bring advanced technology into the electric-powered car. For example, Sony providing an advanced audio system namely Sony 360 Reality Audio, so by the feature the passengers of the car can access music and movie streaming on the Bravia Core services.

Like its sedan predecessor, the Sony Vision-S 02's passengers can also play the PlayStation remotely. Even if the PlayStation console is left at home, car owners can play it from inside the car. The most recent feature is the installation of a special camera that detects faces in the car. The camera allows the driver and passenger to perform voice commands and special gestures to access various features in the car.
Then there is also a panoramic glass-roof that stretches from the front to the back and made the car's cabin looks more spacious because it seems as if it's naturely openned. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
Thanks to the camera, the car can also activate the memory of driving settings that are usually done by the driver. Starting from the height of the steering wheel, your favorite driving mode to the most frequently selected entertainment options. Sony also claims this car can run autonomously, the car's autonomous capability is claimed to reach Level 2. This is obtained thanks to the installation of 40 sensor points throughout the car body. Including the camera and LIDAR on the front of the car.

Although Sony could be said success in making these 2 electric-powered vehicle prototypes (a sedan and suv), but still makes many people wonder why those cars were just displayed? Meanwhile at the CES 2022, Sony only gave a quite simple answer.
This time the Japanese electronic giant answered the company would create a special division namely Sony Mobility Inc., in preparation for entering the electric-powered car business which has been growing in recent times. So might be in the future those two or another Sony-made cars can be bought and owned by the public. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | PAULTAN | LATESTCARNEWS ]

One of the rarest Ferrari models specially made for the Sultan of Brunei back in 1990s

The Rarest Back to the 1990s when the automotive world known to spill a lot of exotic four-wheeled vehicle models. And among the many exclusive car models produced at that time, there was a special commissioning vehicles for the Sultan of Brunei. Today, despites many years have passed by, the Sultan of Brunei's car collection still remains an interesting legend to talk about.
This is one-of-a-kind Ferrari FX outside Brunei (in pictured the car no. 4) was purchased by Dick Marconi, and now sat on display at his automotive museum in Southern California. (Picture from: Supercars)
And reportedly the Sultan of Brunei has more than 5,000 (some says 7,000) custom-made cars under various well-known brands like Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Jaguar, Aston Martin, etc. And it could be said that no luxury brand was absence in the garages of the Royal Family of Brunei garages, all hidden in the luxuriant South-East Asian forest.
The Ferrari FX is a limited car model specially built by Pininfarina based of Ferrari Testarossa as many as 7 units for the Sultan of Brunei in the 1995. (Picture from: WikiCars)
Especially for exclusive vehicles that wore the Prancing Horse badge that was built commissioned for the Sultan of Brunei, we're noticed, there are several models that not widely known by the public to date, such as the Ferrari F50 Bolide, Ferrari Mythos, and Ferrari F90 Speciale.
The Ferrari FX (in pictured the car no. 4) has the new body made of aluminum and, where possible, carbon fibre was used for panels such as the hood, doors and wheel wells. (Picture from: Supercars)
Another Ferrari car model which is also not widely known by world automotive enthusiasts specially made for the Sultan of Brunei back in the 1995. At the time, the Sultan of Brunei commissioned the well-known legendary Italian coachbuilder company Pininfarina to design seven one-of-a-kind Ferrari models called the Ferrari FX.
The Ferrari FX (in pictured the car no. 4) is lushly appointed with a sweeping two-tone interior and focuses on the red and green paddles that sit behind the Momo steering wheel. (Picture from: Supercars)
Like most Ferrari car models that were built commissioned for the Royal Family of Brunei at that time, the exclusive car built by Pininfarina in the 1995 also based on the foundations of the production cars of the date to support newer and sometimes better bodies, interiors and drive trains.
The Ferrari FX (in pictured the car no. 4) had a tuned engine coupled with seven speed, electro-hydraulic gearbox complete with manual clutch adjustments located on the center console developed by the Williams F1 team. (Picture from: Supercars)
As quoted of Supercars, the Ferrari FX is a limited series of cars based on the Ferrari Testarossa. The project (and the cars as well) once had shown by Sergio Pininfarina to Gianni Agnelli (CEO of Fiat) who commented; lucky to have such clients.
The Ferrari FX (in pictured the car no. 4) has specifically converging unusual lines at the back, but look more flowing and balanced compared to the chunky F512. (Picture from: Supercars)
The car had a tuned engine coupled with seven speed, electro-hydraulic gearbox complete with manual clutch adjustments located on the center console developed by the Williams F1 team, it's said able to make the car run up to top speed of 300 kph. Wow!

Each car started life at the Pininfarina's assembling lines has the new body was fitted to the Ferrari Testarossa 512 superstructure. It was fabricated out of aluminum and, where possible, carbon fibre was used for panels such as the hood, doors and wheel wells. To accommodate the revised rear end, a new exhaust was manufactured which now leads us to believe the engine itself may have been upgraded. Even if the engine is stock, the lighter body and transmission have to offer much better performance.

Although at the time, the Pininfarina's styling isn't the most photogenic from the front, but good proportions and a particularly pleasing rear end save the design. Specifically, converging lines at the back are unusual ones, but look more flowing and balanced compared to the chunky F512. A distinct rear hood with Plexiglass rear window is unlike any Pininfarina-made car ever, having small port holes that reveal its flat-12 drive train below. Curiously, there is a unique engine crown that has the only the FX script ever found on this car.

Inside, the FX is lushly appointed with a sweeping two-tone interior and focuses on the red and green paddles that sit behind the Momo steering wheel. Other interesting details include an emergency shut-off button, aluminum door handles, a transmission control panel between the two seats and a plaque which calls out the 'unique pininfarina design for the Royal Family of Brunei'. The FX's feature is left untouched, and still includes its classic Sony tape player, one fit for a billionaire.
For the reason we did not know, the Sultan stopped his influx of cars and anything else expensive when the fourth car from the seven cars built was still being in the finishing process at the Williams. The dark blue colored car with the chassis no. 103396, was then purchased by an American supercar enthusiasts Dick Marconi to be one of his car colections on display at his automotive museum in Southern California.

And this is one-of-a-kind Ferrari FX outside Brunei, as well as become an evidence of its existence in the world (since the beginning of the FX model is the secret project and not included in the recognized model ever made by Ferrari and even Pininfarina). *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MARCONI MUSEUM | SUPERCARS.NET ]

It seems the company wanna shared the aspirations or even taken inspirations of those gigantic ocean creatures namesake, ie uncompromising performance in its own environment when it building the first supercar platform which has the full name of the Orca 113 that's consisted of three variants. As the first variant, the Orca C113 also features with Lamborghini-like scissor doors was launched for the first time at one of the world's leading automotive exhibitions, Geneva Motor Show 2003.

As qouted of Classicdriver, the car's nomenclature is derived from "C" for coupé, "1" designating that it’s the first model, and "13" for good luck, it being Beck’s personal lucky number. The next variant is the Orca R113 or a roadster-styled car, the last one being the highest variant is the Orca SC7, as we could be guessed from the car's nomenclature is derived from "SC" for supercar, and "7" designating of it made only 7 units.

Initially, the company intends to produce around 10-15 hand-build cars a year with a total production of 198 units in all three variants. Unfortunately, the car project shut down in 2007, due to lack of investors and buyer, with only 7 units were ever produced, 3 units of the C113, 2 R113s, and 2 SC7s.

After all the projects on the Orca 113 car platform stopped, it turned out that the company owner still had not given up on continuing to build supercars, it then continued by launching another model named Beck LM 800 in 2007. The car is designed to be extremely light with a weight of 1,984 lbs and incredibly aerodynamic.
