The Alfa Romeo TZx Sauber emerged in 2020, a year that marked Alfa Romeo’s 110th anniversary. Barreau’s creation paid homage to Alfa Romeo’s iconic TZ series, particularly the TZ2 of 1965.

Adding "Sauber" to the concept’s name wasn’t arbitrary. During that time, Alfa Romeo was deeply tied to Sauber through its Formula 1 sponsorship. This partnership undoubtedly influenced Barreau’s approach, marrying the precision of motorsport with the elegance of a sports car. The collaboration reflected a dynamic synergy between racing and production design, embodying Alfa Romeo’s commitment to both heritage and innovation.
