The future Vespa La Speciale concept capable to be transformed into a segway

Sempre Una Vespa It's been a long time, we don't write the content that talks about the scooters. And now it feels like it's time for us to re-present something about today's scooter designs (although only in terms of ideas and concepts) related to current trends. The following is one of the scooter concepts (here's no. 3 of 3 concepts) that we have prepared where the whole design are inspired by the Italian scooter legend, Piaggio Vespa.
The Vespa La Speciale Concept is complied as a disertation of three Italian students of the Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design (IAAD) in Turin. (Picture from: Behance.net)
Did you know that apart from those who know how to earn a trust like the designers who officially work for the company, there are literally thousands of others struggling to stand out? And often the latter is much better than the former. For example in the case of the following three Italian students who do their job far beyond what is called a "professional" after You seen their designed scooter as follow;
Here are the three Italian students of the Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design (IAAD), namely Federico Bernardi, Mattia La Coppola and Andrea Ortile. (Picture from: Behance.net)
As quoted from ScooterNet, it is said that there are three Italian students, namely Federico Bernardi, Mattia La Coppola and Andrea Ortile, who are studying in the major of the industrial design at the Istituto d'Arte Applicata e Design (IAAD), a Turin-based private university of design. And when they were about to finish their studies, they then compiled a dissertation on the future Vespa scooter design called Vespa La Speciale for its 70th birthday (meaning 5 years ago, because today, in 2021 Vespa celebrates the 75th anniversary).
The Vespa La Speciale Concept is created by combining past traditions and future innovations without forgetting the values of originallity as well as reinterpretated of globally thinking without time limit. (Picture from: Behance.net)
After first they putting the idea on a piece of paper, and immediately set up the parameters that would characterize of the scooter design, such as usability, Italian, social, youth, traditional, smart, simple, cool, fashionable, etc.
The Vespa La Speciale Concept was developed as an electric-powered vehicle to support the needs of the new generation. (Picture from: Behance.net)
As excerpted from BehanceNet, this future Vespa scooter design is created by combining past traditions and future innovations without forgetting the values of originallity as well as reinterpretated of globally thinking without time limit. Vespa La Speciale is a two-wheeled vehicle designed to target young people. That is why this scooter concept was developed as an electric-powered vehicle to support the needs of the new generation.
The Vespa La Speciale Concept is electric powered, and therefore the engine size can be reduced, followed by under-saddle storage space. (Picture from: Behance.net)
According to the designers, the concept was formally created after having finished observing carefully what the Vespa was in the past, a true legend of the Italian two-wheeler. And finally, they decided to take inspiration from the Vespa 50 Special, a small, compact and versatile vehicle powered by a tiny 50 cc engine. Furthermore, it was also mentioned that this two-wheeler concept combines two sides that have always been faithful to the Vespa brand, namely the scooter's fashions and accessories.
The Vespa La Speciale Concept is is a two-wheeled vehicle designed to target young people. (Picture from: Behance.net)
After the scooter design sketches were completed, the color composition began to fall and at the same time the ideas based on the latest technology also emerged, such as the rear wheel (when the scooter stops) can be detached from the scooter body which can be functioned as a one-wheelers such the Segway. Dodgy, isn't!
The Vespa La Speciale Concept's 'killing details', take a look at the 'shell wreath' of the cut projector. (Picture from: Behance.net)
Also, because the scooter is electric powered, and therefore the engine size can be reduced, followed by under-saddle storage space, that's the next brilliant design ideas of them.
Not to mention, if you want to talk about the 'killing details', take a look at the 'shell wreath' of the cut projector. Top proposals we've never seen before.

When it's finished, few see their work, few know about it and never been glimpsed by any scooter manufacturers.😭 But what is certain this design concept has spoken along with the increasing number of modern scooters passing by on the streets.

Right now, don't be surprised if you see the ideas of three Italian youngster might be seen on the current production version scooters. Why can this happen? Because this is usually done, with the excuse of 'un-officially design', thus giving the brand owner 'more rights' to implement it arbitrarily. Is it true like that? The answer entirely is up to you. 🙏 Keep in mind, We are not in a judgmental capacity.

Urban electric scooter concept with a modular body

Contemporer Concept It's been a long time, we don't write the content that talks about the scooters. And now it feels like it's time for us to re-present something about today's scooter designs (although only in terms of ideas and concepts) related to current trends. The following is one of the scooter concepts (here's no. 2 of 3 concepts) that we have prepared where the whole design are inspired by the Italian scooter legend, Piaggio Vespa.
The Motivo (in scaled model) is such a unique shaped electric-powered scooter concept designed by Tai Chiem back in 2009. (Picture from: Coroflot.com)
The following concept scooter is called the Movito, which we first saw while surfing the Internet some time ago, and interestingly it was created with an unusual design and somewhat different from the others on the market.
The Motivo (in scaled model) has a sexy design appeals to hip and trendy young adults, making a striking statement wherever it goes with its sophistocated styling and two toned colours. (Picture from: Coroflot.com)
The Movito is an eco-friendly electric scooter that recently took top honors in NASA’s Create the future Design Contest back in the 2009. This unique shaped futuristic scooter concept designed by Tai Chiem. The architecture of the scooter concept is completely overhauled allowing for a fresh and innovative design approach. Movito expresses lightness and movement in an elegant form.

How not, the fresh futuristic impression of the concept vehicle can be captured from its design character which generally displays a rounded shape with some parts that look tapered, besides that it also applies the hubless wheel features in front, that means the wheel is not centered and spinning on an axis, but rather caught from its bottom side of a rolling rigid fixed part, that goes to the scooter’s direction fork.
The Motivo (in scaled model) is intended for urban use and come complete with a GPS, touch screen interface and helmet storage. (Picture from: Coroflot.com)
According to the designer, the innovative scooter concepts are intended for urban use and come complete with a GPS, touch screen interface and helmet storage. It's sexy design appeals to hip and trendy young adults, making a striking statement wherever it goes with its sophistocated styling and two toned colours.

The Movito consists of two modular parts, ie an upper scooter chassis, and a base that provides propulsion via an electric motor and rechargeable batteries. The use of an in-wheel motor allows the scooter’s chassis to be slim, smoothly sculpted, and exceptionally lightweight.
The Motivo is designed as a self-contained unit, two bases also can be detached and aligned in parallel to create a two-seater vehicle. (Picture from: Coroflot.com)
Since the vehicle’s propulsion system is designed as a self-contained unit, two bases can be detached and aligned in parallel to create a two-seater vehicle resembled like a carriage without a horse. No wonder if the Movito called a classy and sexy, appealing to free spirited individuals.

The future scooter concept is inspired by the spirit of American Jeep and Vespa

Sempre Una Vespa It's been a long time, we don't write the content that talks about the scooters. And now it feels like it's time for us to re-present something about today's scooter designs (although only in terms of ideas and concepts) related to current trends. The following is one of the scooter concepts (here's no. 1 of 3 concepts) that we have prepared where the whole design are inspired by the Italian scooter legend, Piaggio Vespa.
The Piaggio CT or Piaggio Carving Tool Concept is designed by Paolo Corcagnani back in the 2007. (Picture from: TopSpeed)
Here is the scooter concept design made by Paolo Corcagnani back in 2007. As qouted of Moto.it, this scooter was inspired and dedicated by the designer to Vespa, the legendary scooter that has invaded our city streets for over sixty years. The two-wheeled concept vehicle later called the Piaggio CT, or Piaggio Carving Tool was also intended as a modern evolution representation of the original Vespa design.
The Piaggio CT or Piaggio Carving Tool Concept was inspired by the versatility of the US Army's original wartime Jeep. (Picture from: TopSpeed)
From the concept scooter looks, as we can see it has a very futuristic and simple design. According to the designer, the scooter concept was inspired by the versatility of the US Army's original wartime Jeep. What he calls as a pure vehicle, in which everything is oriented towards simplicity and functionality.
The Piaggio CT has the most distinctive design elements is the military coloring of the Green Army completed with the 'US Army' star logo or emblem. (Picture from: MotoBlog.it)
This may be because the designer has the opinion that the Vespa is in a somekind of sense such in terms of functionality and design could be said as an "Italian Jeep." It is "one of the few means that also serves a purpose of use", efficient, economical and pleasing to the eye. No wonder then Paolo Corcagnani displays it in the touch of Green Army finishing.
The Piaggio CT has unique handlebaris that appeared in an unusual shape, like an iron rod that is bent in such a way as to form a unique handlebar. (Picture from: MotoBlog.it)
In general, the Piaggio CT scooter concept is intended to bring back the spirit of the legendary vehicles such the Jeep and Vespa at the same time in the form of a modern two-wheeled vehicle. Besides being inspired by those two legendary vehicles, it turns out that some of the design elements of this concept scooter also take their cues from the similar vehicles built after the legendary Vespa born, for example the Honda Zoomer, the Japanese scooter which known has a simple central unit and functional elements with a modular structure (handles, engine, license plate and taillights).
Uniquely the Piaggio CT has a removable saddle when the hole is used for refueling. (Picture from: TopSpeed)
We can see this in some of the forms in the scooter concept that were inspired by past ideas (such as headlights) or vehicles in a certain sense similar, such as bicycles but equipped with modern features so that their functions can be felt immediately.
The Piaggio CT is intended to bring back the spirit of the legendary vehicles such the Jeep and Vespa at the same time in the form of a modern two-wheeled vehicle. (Picture from: TopSpeed)
In addition, among the existing design elements and looks the most distinctive is the military coloring where the designer gave the scooter concept the finishing touch of the Green Army (completed with the 'US Army' star logo or emblem). The scooter designer said that is not as a form of reference to the war, but as a form that represents the Jeep and the "logic" of a functional vehicle).
What's unique about the handlebar is appeared in an unusual shape, like an iron rod that is bent in such a way as to form a unique handlebar. On the handlebars, there are no exposed wires, only the brakes (on the left) and the accelerator control, while the lights and indicators are activated automatically in sync with the angle of the handlebar itself.
The Piaggio CT has a more extreme model with no handlebar and replaced by gyroscopic steering similar to two-wheeled vehicles on a single axle such Segway. (Picture from: MotoBlog.it)
Then the instrument panel is also uniquely placed on the handlebar hole, while the driver's saddle is shaped like a bicycle saddle that can be removed freely in which the hole is used for refueling as well. In addition to the normal version, a more extreme Piaggio CT has also been planned, in which elements have been further reduced: for example, the handlebars are gone, replaced by gyroscopic steering similar to two-wheeled vehicles on a single axle (such as the Segway).

Meet the Husqvarna Vektorr electric scooter concept

Unique ONES We've glad to be back and talked about the scooter again. Currently, in which many the world's vehicle motorized manufacturers are starting to transition their products from the ones used conventional engine into the electric-driven motors. This has also been done by Husqvarna, a Swedish manufacturer which since last year began to develop their electric two-wheeled vehicle products.
Husqvarna Vektorr electric powered scooter concept is appeared with and used the electric motors made by by an Indian manufacturer, Bajaj Chetak. (Picture from: DriveSpark)
As we discussed in a previous article last year, the Swedish manufacturer had been introduced an electric scooter concept under a code name of the E-01 along with another motorcycle concept called the E-Pilen. And now the Husqvarna has officially named its electric scooter concept the Husqvarna Vectorr.

In terms of design, although it is still a prototype, if we look closely, this two-wheeled vehicle already looks like a street legal motorcycle designed for urban transportation. As you can see at the round headlights in a classic style, but overall the Vektorr has a boxy shaped design such an electric scooter styles in general, which then given a simple futuristic touches and also a sophisticated impression without many curves with a very simple color combinations.

Besides that, Husqvarna also said if its electric powered scooter based of the Indian-made Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. As we all know that the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is powered by a 48V/6.3Ah battery pack that sends power to a 4080W BLDC motor. It is this battery and motor combination that is also expected to power the Husqvarna Vektorr electric scooter. Several other components will also be shared between the two electric scooters.
Husqvarna Vektorr concept is powered by a 4kW electric motor that can propel the scooter to 45kph, while the battery range is 95k. (Picture from: DriveSpark)
Perhaps You will asked, why this could be happened? As quoted of the Motorcyclenews, the Swedish motorcycle company Husqvarna has become a subsidiary of Pierer Mobility, a holding company that also oversees the Indian motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj Auto, so no wonder if they can share the machinaries each others.

The electric motor that drives forward the Husqvarna Vectorr is said to have a low voltage, which is around 48 V which is equivalent to a 5 horsepower conventional engine. Althought not many technical details are provided by Husqvarna, the company only mentioned that the Vectorr Concept could be riden up to a top speed of around 45 kph with a cruising range of 95 km.

Interestingly, there is no mention of the battery packeges like on the E-Pilen. In fact, Pierer Mobility, also known to own the Austrian's motorcycle brand, KTM had become part of a consortium for the development of swapping standard battery packages with Piaggio, Yamaha, and Honda. It seems that the electric motor for the Husqvarna Vectorr concept had already begun long before Pierer Mobility decided to sign the battery consortium mentioned above.
The production version of Husqvarna’s electric scooter will be made in India. (Picture from: MotorDynasty)
The production version of Husqvarna’s electric scooter will be made in India. As the consecuences, it is clear that the electric powered urban scooter would be targeting the consumers in the Asian countries, especially for countries that have started the campaigning for electric-powered vehicles, such India.

So, would this electric powered scooter be mass-produced? There's still unknown, as the manufacturer hasn't announced it yet. As previously mentioned, Husqvarna is not only presenting the electric scooter concept, there is also the Husqvarna E-Pilen, an electric sport naked bike based on the Husqvarna Vitpilen.
As quoted from several media in Europe, that said the presence of these two urban motorized vehicle concepts from Husqvarna is a sign of their readiness to launch electric-powered vehicle products which reportedly will debut in 2022 to come. Let's just wait...!

BMW Motorrad unveils the unusually shaped electric scooter

Unique ONES The world's motorized vehicle manufacturers are currently focusing on developing products that are more environmentally friendly, one way is to replace the conventional combustion engines with those that use electric-based drivetrains.
BMW CE04 is the culmination of a design and engineering process by BMW Motorrad that started with the C Evolution electric scooter back in 2014, followed by the Concept Link in 2017. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
That's also apparently what BMW Motorrad has been doing for years. One of them when the German company since 2011 has developed a motorcycle concept or more precisely an electric-powered scooter known as the BMW C Evolution and introduced to the public in 2014. Furthermore, the German company re-created and launched an electric scooter concept as an environmentally friendly scooter of the urban transportation called the BMW Concept Link in the 2017.
BMW CE04 is bringing a new level of sophistication to electrically powered urban mobility with a host of technological refinement. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
Well, we will discuss about the BMW's electric-powered scooter again. Recently, BMW Motorrad launched an electric-powered scooter called the BMW CE04. As reported by Paultan.org, on Thursday, July 8, 2021, the two-wheeled vehicle directly became the center of attention because of its unusual design.
BMW CE04 has the front looks like a motorcycle in general, with a slightly wider body and LED headlights. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
In appearance, it's clear that the BMW Motorrad's new scooter adopts the designs and styles that has been made previously for those 2 concepts mentioned above. As stated by the German company, the CE04 is the culmination of a design and engineering process by BMW Motorrad that began with the C Evolution electric scooter back in 2014, followed by the Concept Link in 2017.
BMW CE04 has a 10.25-inch TFT-LCD screen displays all the necessary information, including integrated map navigation and connectivity to the rider’s smartphone. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
At first glance, the scooter-style vehicle at the front looks like a motorcycle in general, with a slightly wider body and LED headlights. However, the seat are made thin and elongated and wrapped in a material with two color combinations. The handlebars resemble a jet ski watercraft, and at the front is fitted with a small mica that serves to protect the instrument panel.
BMW CE04 uses an electric dynamo mounted on the body, and connected to the rear wheels via a belt. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
BMW Motorrad uses an electric dynamo mounted on the body, and connected to the rear wheels via a belt. The power generated by the electric motor is equivalent to the power produced by a conventional 500cc engine, which is 42 horsepower.
BMW CE04 has unique thin elongated seater and wrapped in a material with two color combinations. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
As for acceleration, it is said to be quite responsive and powerful, where it is stated that the BMW CE04 is able to accelerate from zero to a speed of 50 kilometers per hour in just 2.6 seconds and this electric scooter can also be driven up to 120 km per hour.
BMW CE04 is driven by a frame mounted electric motor with belt drive to the rear wheel by 42 hp of power. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
This German company knows that a fast electric scooter will not sell if it cannot be used for long distances. That is why, BMW Motorrad then equipped this model with an 8.9 kWh battery pack, which in full condition is claimed to be used up to 130 kilometers.

Talking about the battery, the charging time when using standard facilities is more than four hours. However, if you use a fast charging system, from 20 percent to 80 percent it only takes 45 minutes. We bet, there're some of you want to have this unique scooter, so far BMW Motorrad has not mentioned yet about the price of this unique electric scooter. So it made you who want to have this scooter should be patient a little longer.😉

An attractive custom-built scooter

UNIQUE Ones It all started when We're surfing the internet and then found a picture of a unique custom-built scooter. We're very curious to know more about this unique scooter? ✂
The gorgeous UK's racing green colored custom scooter of Vespa wore in a unique bodywork resembled a classic car is seen to attend in a gathering event to celebrate the Father's Day 2016 held in Beaulieu Hants, New Forest - Hempshire, south of England. We were curious to know more about this green beauty. (Picture from: Pinterest)
At first glance, we assumed that the custom-built scooter was scarce indeed and built based of a Vespa scooter model. And then when we see the scooter closely, it has a bodywork that resembles a classic car.

We don't get much information about this scooter on the internet. As quoted from a HarleyRiders's tweet which states that this UK's typical racing green colored custom scooter is seen to attend at a gathering event to celebrate the Father's Day 2016 held in Beaulieu Hants, New Forest - Hempshire, south of England.
Indeed, the uniqueness of the custom made scooter mentioned above is very prominent, so that it reminds us of another not less unique scooter figure which ever made by an Indonesian builder named Bagas Roffiyanto named Komando (and we ever discussed it in an article in 2019).
Komando, an extremely unique scooter from Banten which is driven by two engines made by Bagas Roffiyanto. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2siBWQV)
And on this occasion, we ask for help if any of Our Trussty-Jasmine loyal readers who have information about this scooter, and willing to share it with us via the comments column below this article.😎
