An awesome performance of the Verge TS electric-motorcycle

Take A Ride Sooner or later electrification is believed to be a trend. Currently emerging new brands that make electric-powered vehicles, especially electric motorcycles. One of them is the Finnish brand, Verge Motorcycles, which is rumored to be launching the Verge TS, which is an electric sports motorbike. This motorcycle will compete in the high-performance electric motorcycle class with the Energica and Zero Motorcycles brands.

As quoting from the Greatbiker page, the Verge TS had previously been introduced for the first time at the 2019 EICMA as the prototype in February 2019. It took 32 months for the company to officially launch its electric motorbike. As we know that the Verge TS is a rebranding and to be a new name for mass production of the previous motorcycle brand, RMK E2.

There are no detailed specifications regarding the battery. However, the manufacturer claims that this electric motor has a maximum power of 107 hp and an abundant torque of up to 1,000 Nm. The maximum speed is around 180 kph in under 4 seconds. When the battery is fully charged, the motorbike can cover a distance of 300 km, and 200 km for combined city and out-of-town road us.

In addition to the engine specifications, the Verge TS is interesting because it uses a hubless rear wheel. The rear wheel looks hollow so that it becomes a point more than the design side. Hub holes like this is actually not something new. However, motorcycle manufacturers who launch hubless are rare.

Teemu Saukkio is a designer who created a hubless rear wheel mechanism from his workshop, he developed a hubless rear wheel by attaching a hub mount to an E2 motor (at that time) which was claimed to run very fast.
The Verge TS has also been pinned with a premium rear suspension of the Ohlins brand monoshock and brake calipers from Brembo. (Picture from: Visordown)
The wheel mechanism seems to float without being supported by the spokes on the rim and of course futuristic. It is also mentioned that the hubless on the rear wheel is one of the factors that makes the motor have great acceleration. In addition, the Verge TS has also been pinned with a premium rear suspension of the Ohlins brand monoshock and brake calipers from Brembo.
The Verge TS is claimed has a maximum power of 107 hp and an abundant torque of up to 1,000 Nm. (Picture from: Electrec.co)
Meanwhile, for rear braking that uses a hubless wheel mechanism, it is impossible to install conventional brakes like an ordinary motorcycle. So, this futuristic style motorcycle uses a rear brake which they call a 'regenerative braking system'. Furthermore, for charging the battery, it is claimed to be faster because it has embedded the Fast Charging system which is their charging standard.

The Finnish company claim the battery of the Verge TS can be fully charged in just 2 to 3 hours, while the battery capacity is still unknown. For performance on the road, the Verge TS electric motor is capable of producing 107 hp (80kW) and a maximum torque of 737 ft-lb. As for the range that can be achieved by the Verge TS is as far as 124 miles or 199 km for use on the highway and 186 miles or equivalent to 299 km in the city.
It is very impressive the distance that can be covered, for an electric motorbike that has a futuristic design and the use of unusual rear tires. With all the sophistication that is buried into this futuristic motorbike, Verge Motorcycles sells it for $27,713. Are you interested?

Meet the Husqvarna Vektorr electric scooter concept

Unique ONES We've glad to be back and talked about the scooter again. Currently, in which many the world's vehicle motorized manufacturers are starting to transition their products from the ones used conventional engine into the electric-driven motors. This has also been done by Husqvarna, a Swedish manufacturer which since last year began to develop their electric two-wheeled vehicle products.
Husqvarna Vektorr electric powered scooter concept is appeared with and used the electric motors made by by an Indian manufacturer, Bajaj Chetak. (Picture from: DriveSpark)
As we discussed in a previous article last year, the Swedish manufacturer had been introduced an electric scooter concept under a code name of the E-01 along with another motorcycle concept called the E-Pilen. And now the Husqvarna has officially named its electric scooter concept the Husqvarna Vectorr.

In terms of design, although it is still a prototype, if we look closely, this two-wheeled vehicle already looks like a street legal motorcycle designed for urban transportation. As you can see at the round headlights in a classic style, but overall the Vektorr has a boxy shaped design such an electric scooter styles in general, which then given a simple futuristic touches and also a sophisticated impression without many curves with a very simple color combinations.

Besides that, Husqvarna also said if its electric powered scooter based of the Indian-made Bajaj Chetak electric scooter. As we all know that the Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is powered by a 48V/6.3Ah battery pack that sends power to a 4080W BLDC motor. It is this battery and motor combination that is also expected to power the Husqvarna Vektorr electric scooter. Several other components will also be shared between the two electric scooters.
Husqvarna Vektorr concept is powered by a 4kW electric motor that can propel the scooter to 45kph, while the battery range is 95k. (Picture from: DriveSpark)
Perhaps You will asked, why this could be happened? As quoted of the Motorcyclenews, the Swedish motorcycle company Husqvarna has become a subsidiary of Pierer Mobility, a holding company that also oversees the Indian motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj Auto, so no wonder if they can share the machinaries each others.

The electric motor that drives forward the Husqvarna Vectorr is said to have a low voltage, which is around 48 V which is equivalent to a 5 horsepower conventional engine. Althought not many technical details are provided by Husqvarna, the company only mentioned that the Vectorr Concept could be riden up to a top speed of around 45 kph with a cruising range of 95 km.

Interestingly, there is no mention of the battery packeges like on the E-Pilen. In fact, Pierer Mobility, also known to own the Austrian's motorcycle brand, KTM had become part of a consortium for the development of swapping standard battery packages with Piaggio, Yamaha, and Honda. It seems that the electric motor for the Husqvarna Vectorr concept had already begun long before Pierer Mobility decided to sign the battery consortium mentioned above.
The production version of Husqvarna’s electric scooter will be made in India. (Picture from: MotorDynasty)
The production version of Husqvarna’s electric scooter will be made in India. As the consecuences, it is clear that the electric powered urban scooter would be targeting the consumers in the Asian countries, especially for countries that have started the campaigning for electric-powered vehicles, such India.

So, would this electric powered scooter be mass-produced? There's still unknown, as the manufacturer hasn't announced it yet. As previously mentioned, Husqvarna is not only presenting the electric scooter concept, there is also the Husqvarna E-Pilen, an electric sport naked bike based on the Husqvarna Vitpilen.
As quoted from several media in Europe, that said the presence of these two urban motorized vehicle concepts from Husqvarna is a sign of their readiness to launch electric-powered vehicle products which reportedly will debut in 2022 to come. Let's just wait...!

This is one of the candidate for the world's fastest electric motorcycles

The Candidates Tremendous, a motorcycle company named White Motorcycle Concepts (WMC) is known to want to set a new record as the world's fastest electric-powered motorcycle by presenting a motorcycle that has a unique and futuristic design. The company was founded by Robert White, an engineer with 24 years of experience in motorsports and automobiles.
White Motorcycle Concepts’ introduces a new electric racer designed to break the electric motorcycle land speed record called WMC250EV. (Picture from: IndoZone)
The motorcycle, named WMC250EV, is an electric-powered motorcycle with a design that is far from conventional ones. It is said the motorcycle have a high aerodynamic level in which the entire body design of the WMC250EV is made sloping to launch the wind-flow backwards so as to make it go very fast.
The bike’s design is said to reduce drag by 70 percent, as confirmed in wind tunnel testing. (Picture from: IndoZone)
In the photos uploaded by White Motorcycle Concepts, it can be seen that on this motorbike there is a large gaping hole right in the middle of the body looks like an air tunnel and they called V-Air duct. The hole is said to provide air space so that it can penetrate to the back fastly.
It’s achieved via a central V-Air duct that defines the bike’s structure as well as its overall shape. (Picture from: IndoZone)
According to the maker, the technology is inspired by the world of Formula 1, making it so slippery that it can penetrate the wind at high speeds, in which the air is forced through the center of the motorcycle, instead of surrounding it like the most motorcycles. So it is claimed that the drag resistance can be reduced by up to 70 percent and makes it as the world's most aerodynamically efficient motorcycle.
The duct allows for aerodynamic efficiency by allowing air to move straight through the bike, front to back. (Picture from: IndoZone)
The body structure is made of carbon fiber materials ranging of the bodywork, bars, to the rider's seat. The subframe and lower chassis are made using billet aluminum which doubles as a housing for electronic devices and a lithium-ion battery pack.
The WMC250EV uses two hub-mounted motors to also put drive to the front wheel. (Picture from: Cycleworld)
Its power comes from the unique layout of power supply. The battery is at the bottom for good center of gravity and weight distribution. Each wheel is given a dual electric motors drive called D-Drive features which is installed in front of 20kWh while at rear 30kWh so that in total the motorcycle has a power of about 100kWh or equivalent to 134 hp.
Rear swingarm is machined from aluminum billet and houses an enclosed chain. The front wheel is driven by hub mounted motors, as seen here. (Picture from: Cycleworld)
Meanwhile the regenerative braking system has also been pinned as a standard feature of the motorbike which is intended to save wasted power and use it to recharge the battery.Although later the motorcycle was known to have a weight of around 300 kg which could be considered quite heavy, but because of its aerodynamic design, it is able to make the motorcycle feel light while riden on the road.
Robert White as the man behind the motorbike maker company wants to make this electric motorcycle capable of breaking the current top speed record for an electric motorcycle so he expects the WMC250EV motorcycle to go up to 407 kilometers per hour. For your information, the world record for the fastest electric motorcycle is currently held by the Voxan Wattman with a top speed of 228.006 mph or 366.941 kph. What do you think about this electric motorcycle?

Yamaha is revealed its future motorcycle concepts

Futuristic ONES One of the Japanese automotive giant Yamaha Motor Company outlines their big plans for the future recently. The Iwata-based company says 90 percent of the models that Yamaha will sell in 2050 will be powered by electricity, even there're the synthetic fuel and Carbon Neutral (CN) as the option.
Yamaha MW-Vision is concept model that proposes mobility that closely matches human sensibility, such as “interactive communication between people and mobility using sound and light. (Picture from: Yamaha)
As quoted of Motorcyclenews, Yamaha has started to introduce the latest environmentally friendly vehicles, using liquid fuel and carbon neutral (CN). It is said the eco-friendly motorcycle will have a higher compression ratio and have a variable valve to increase efficiency.

"We have a goal to be able to give birth to new mobility that has never been seen before, by combining the best technology that has become Yamaha's strength, as well as integrating our own robotic production technology," said Yamaha Motors President, Yoshihiro Hidaka.
Yamaha Tritown is already manufactured in small numbers, Yamaha see this as a steppingstone between power-assisted bicycles and motorcycles. (Picture from: DetikOto)
To prove the Yamaha's seriousness in being able to produce environmentally friendly vehicles, it is rumored that Yamaha is ready to introduce the Yamaha concept motorcycle to be more environmentally friendly. Yamaha said that if the Tokyo Motor Show was held, Yamaha would show again their future motorcycles that were introduced at the same event in 2019, including the MW-Vision, Tritown, E01 and E02 Electric Commuter.

One of them is by introducing a concept motorbike with the latest 3-wheeler option or the Leaning Multi-Wheels (LMW) motorbike concept model called Yamaha Tritown. "One of them is the Tritown electric mobility model, which has three wheels with two wheels in the front position which is trying to be created to have a long distance," Yoshiro Hidaka added.
The battery of the Yamaha E01 Electric Commuter is virtually certain for production with 125cc-equivalent performance, promising a 90% charge in an hour. (Picture from: DetikOto)
He explained further that the introduction of the Tritown was none other than because Yamaha was ready to produce in small quantities, as well as being a stepping stone between bicycles and electric motorcycles.

The second motorcycle concept that will be introduced by Yamaha is called the Yamaha E01 Electric Commuter, an electric motor that has a performance like a scooter with a 125cc engine. The cool thing about this Yamaha electric scooter is that it only takes 1 hour to be able to charge up to 90 percent.
Yamaha E02 Electric Commuter uses an existing scooter’s frame to keep costs down, along with a removable battery in line with the swappable battery recently agreed by major players in the sector. (Picture from: DetikOto)
Meanwhile, the third motorcycle concept that will be exhibited by the double tuning forks logoed company is called the Yamaha E02 Electric Commuter, which is an electric scooter that was introduced in 2019 which has a battery-mountable system that shortens battery charging time.

Then there is another concept that may be displayed by Yamaha at the Tokyo Motor Show automotive event, namely Yamaha MW-Vision. As quoted of the Livingwithgravity, the cocoon bodied three-wheeler is equipped with lean control technology and reverse function. This concept model that proposes mobility that closely matches human sensibility, such as “interactive communication between people and mobility using sound and light.
But unfortunately so far Yamaha is still reluctant to reveal the design of their environmentally friendly motorcycle that will be consumed of synthetic fuel and carbon neutral (CN). If we look at the row of environmentally friendly vehicles that will be presented in the future by the Japanese company, of course, it will make us more confident that our life better and healthier due to they already thought of the preservation of nature and become as the main priority in the making of vehicles. Okay, we'll see soon

Well, we will discuss about the BMW's electric-powered scooter again. Recently, BMW Motorrad launched an electric-powered scooter called the BMW CE04. As reported by Paultan.org, on Thursday, July 8, 2021, the two-wheeled vehicle directly became the center of attention because of its unusual design.
BMW CE04 has the front looks like a motorcycle in general, with a slightly wider body and LED headlights. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
In appearance, it's clear that the BMW Motorrad's new scooter adopts the designs and styles that has been made previously for those 2 concepts mentioned above. As stated by the German company, the CE04 is the culmination of a design and engineering process by BMW Motorrad that began with the C Evolution electric scooter back in 2014, followed by the Concept Link in 2017.
BMW CE04 has a 10.25-inch TFT-LCD screen displays all the necessary information, including integrated map navigation and connectivity to the rider’s smartphone. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
At first glance, the scooter-style vehicle at the front looks like a motorcycle in general, with a slightly wider body and LED headlights. However, the seat are made thin and elongated and wrapped in a material with two color combinations. The handlebars resemble a jet ski watercraft, and at the front is fitted with a small mica that serves to protect the instrument panel.
BMW CE04 uses an electric dynamo mounted on the body, and connected to the rear wheels via a belt. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
BMW Motorrad uses an electric dynamo mounted on the body, and connected to the rear wheels via a belt. The power generated by the electric motor is equivalent to the power produced by a conventional 500cc engine, which is 42 horsepower.
BMW CE04 has unique thin elongated seater and wrapped in a material with two color combinations. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
As for acceleration, it is said to be quite responsive and powerful, where it is stated that the BMW CE04 is able to accelerate from zero to a speed of 50 kilometers per hour in just 2.6 seconds and this electric scooter can also be driven up to 120 km per hour.
BMW CE04 is driven by a frame mounted electric motor with belt drive to the rear wheel by 42 hp of power. (Picture from: PaulTan.org)
This German company knows that a fast electric scooter will not sell if it cannot be used for long distances. That is why, BMW Motorrad then equipped this model with an 8.9 kWh battery pack, which in full condition is claimed to be used up to 130 kilometers.

Talking about the battery, the charging time when using standard facilities is more than four hours. However, if you use a fast charging system, from 20 percent to 80 percent it only takes 45 minutes. We bet, there're some of you want to have this unique scooter, so far BMW Motorrad has not mentioned yet about the price of this unique electric scooter. So it made you who want to have this scooter should be patient a little longer.😉
