Unique ONES Benda, a Chinese motorcycle brand is reported to be launching a new cruiser motorcycle figure in the near future. Actually, the motorcycle made its debut as the Benda LF-01 Concept motorcycle at the 18th Motor Expo held at Chongqing, on September last year, which was later realized into a production version called the Benda LFC700 and reportedly the all-new cruiser motorcycle will be launched at the brand debut event on July 2021, held in Xi'an, China.

How would it look? Okay, so far we might be familiar with imitation motorbikes made in China pretending to be the real ones. You might be seen all, ranging from a plagiarized version of BMW S 1000 RR, to a “copycatz” of the Ducati Panigale. However, Benda LFC700 is not one of them. Despite the cruiser motorbike's polarizing style, some credits may be worthy to be given to Benda for creating a truly original motorcycle design.

From the looks, the Benda LFC700 is definitely a futuristic cruiser motorcycle with several key elements that make it stand out in the midst of a modern urban crowd. We can be seen straight to the main part, its very large 310 cross-section rear tire that became a major feature that said succesfully to be caught the world's motorbike fans attention when it was still as the LF-01 concept motorcycle last year, then there is a unique headlights design are made to resemble a (small sized) fighter jet exhaust.

There's another interesting ones, ie the uncommon and unconventional engine is chosen by Benda as its drivetrain, especially if seen the styling of this bike, which makes us expected a large V-twin engine to be chosen as its drivetrain. But, the Benda LFC700 cruiser is powered by a 680cc inline four-cylinder engine which is said to be capable of pumping around 97 horsepower so you can be sure it will make a fierce roaring sound when it passing through in the dense urban traffic.

For a moment, we saw when the Benda LF-01 Concept bike was launched last year, the Chinese manufacturer featured many premium features, such as the color TFT screen, ride by wire, slipper assist clutch, cruise control, ABS, and even the Hill start assist. But unfortunately, like most pre-production motorbikes, some of these features didn't make it to the production model. But don't worry because the Benda LFC700 is reportedly still loaded with advanced features, only the ride-by-wire and cruise control features are not included in the production version model. Not bad than nothing.

However, this edgy and futuristic looking cruiser motorcycle can certainly be a breath of fresh air in the cruiser segment which is currently dominated by the retro-style motorbikes. And reportedly, the Benda LFC700 will sell for around 40,000 to 50,000 yuan, or around US. $7,000 (or around Rp.101 million) and is hoped that the futuristic cruiser-styled motorbike will be able to attract the younger generation. But, now on You should be patient, if wanna see it.

Acquainted with a motorbike figure of the Soviet Union era

Unique ONES Podolskian Mechanical factoryâ, a motorcycle manufacturer from the era of the Soviet Union seem not familiar in the ears of many people today. The manufacturers based in the Podolsk city, near Moscow who stand at the beginning of World War II turned out to be a lot to learn from the enemies of the country, such as Nazi Germany, even then the United States, an ally in World War II but later turn back became 'enemies' in the Cold War era after World War II ended.

It is reflected on their motorcycle model, 1938 ПМЗ or PMZ A-750 known as Podolskian Mechanical Factory A Seven Fifty, where the design process through the stages and the learning process is quite long. The story began when, leader of the Communist Party wants to increase motorcycle production capability of the Soviet Union in 1929, then built the first big vehicle factory in Izhevsk and pointed an engineer named Petr Vladimirovich Mozharov as the head of factory.

In that time, Mozharov who had just returned from the 'school' in Germany, trying to apply his knowledge. Unmitigated eight best German motorcycle manufacturers in that time has been visited by him, such Allright, BMW, DKW, D-Rad (!), Mabeco, Neander, NSU, and Zündapp. But Mozharov simply choose the DKW, Zündapp and Neander as his refference guides, because the DKW has many models, Zündapp has high-tech in that time, and Neander for its unique product concepts.

Later, a prototype motorcycle named the 'L-300' was developed and tested by the 'Scientific Car and Tractor Research Institute' in Leningrad. In 1931, Mozharov and his team moved to Moscow to join the other leading Soviet automotive engineer. And they got the approval for the concept of a successful motorcycle built for the Red Army.

The concept, called NATI A-750 will become a reference product Soviet motorcycle over the next decade. Uniquely, the design mimics the Harley-Davidson D engine model, which are placed on the chassis that similar the BMW chassis with the fuel tank in it. The Double-cradle chassis was produced by means of press. Trailing link front suspension fork with leaf springs.

By using a two-cylinder engine capacity of 740 cc and transmission equipped with three longitudinal acceleration, as well as multi-plate dry clutch and eventually drive chain. Interestingly, other systems are very advanced in its time, for example an oil circulation system, a battery ignition system with a high-voltage coil and an automotive-style distributor.

The next model, NATI B-375, similar and congruent only now the machine slightly tilted forward at an angle of 13°. So it is more powerful, with the peak power up to 18 hp. So that by mid 1933, has produced four different prototypes, and successfully passed the road test as far as 1,200 km from Izhevsk to Moscow.

After through many 'political' debate, the Soviet Union then determine the L-300 built in Izhevsk, and the manufacturer officially bears the name of PMZ or "Podolskian Mechanical factoryâ". Uniquely, PMZ has actually been established since 1900 as a factory for the Singer sewing machine, which in fact belongs to the United States. Because of the change of power, the factory was nationalized in 1923, and since 1930 become the center for the production of military necessity.

Mozharov who became head of the factory then, did the pace of change in total. He changed a lot of production machines as needed to produce a motorcycle. Like the stamp machine to make the order efficiently. It took three years to change the factory in order to produce the first motorcycle. But mysteriously, Mozharov later died, were reportedly due to fatigue. And consequently, the production also faltered.

Although in July 1934, in great financial difficulty and many other difficulties, the manufacturer successfully delivered 10 units of the first motorcycle that is now known as "PMZ A-750". And nine of them were demonstrated to the 'People's Komissar,' or the Communist Party supervisor at the state agency, Sergo Ordzhonikidze. When the workers were planning to produce a total of only 500 machines, he objected. "You have to produce no less than one and a half thousand such machines!"

And of course succeed, even if it means working day and night for the manufacturer workers, because almost all the production lines work by manually. And since that day, PMZ A-750 became the official motorcycle for the Red Army, Police and Secret Service including civilian government agencies in the Soviet Union. The motorcycle model is very popular because their rugged construction and great looks.

However, when it used turned out to be a lot of unexpected things happen, such as less comfortable and sometimes the engine suddenly died without any known cause. Due to the many complaints, and finally the motorcycle production was stopped in 1939.

You might look the air purifier on wheels milling around on the streets someday in the future

Concept ONLY Lately, there has been growing a trend of the changes of the fossilI-fueled vehicle technology into the vehicles with renewable energy, in this case electrical energy. It can be seen of the many automotive manufacturers are aggressively developing electric-powered vehicles, even as if these manufacturers are competing to present the most futuristic vehicle designs.

And one of them is an electric motorbike named Aether Electric Motorcycle Concept, the work of a Taiwanese automotive designer named Lin Yu Cheng. As quoted of Visordown, the electric-powered motorbike will be equipped with super sophisticated technology, such as wireless charging technology or in other words, its batteries can be charged wirelessly. Very sophisticated, isn't?

Besides being powered by renewable energy sourced of the electric motor, it turns out that the motorcycle is also carried an eco-friendly technology. Well, according to the designer, the Aether electric-powered motorbike can also clean the air through an air purifier system pinned in it. It's said, that the air purifier functioned to be able to clean carbon monoxide produced by other vehicles in the vicinity.

By those advance device systems, the air entering into the device and then will be expelled as the filtered and clean air, because the motorcycle has massive air intake ducts that channel air into the ceramic filter modules is functioned as an air purifier to trap PM 2.5 micro-particles. Furthermore, those air purifier components also can be cleaned or replaced periodically so that its function continues to run optimally.

Now the actual motorcycle may look like an iron with wheels, but you have to applaud the ingenuity of the idea. As mentioned above, this electric-powered motorcycle concept is also equipped with a wireless charging system that is placed under the motorbike. So, to charge it, no longer needs a cable connecting from the charging slot to the motorcycle. It is also stated to charging the battery takes only 30 minutes.

Unfortunately, this is still a matter of debate because if the motorcyle can be realized, there should be infrastructure that supports all those systems embeded on the motorbike. Because, when parked in an ordinary parking lot, the wireless charging system will not work optimally. So maybe it should be rethought to also embed a conventional battery charging system that still need the cables..

That's very promising future, if someday there are so many such these electric motorbikes with air purifier technology milling around the streets. So it could be made less air pollutants around us. And finally, the question now is whether the technology can be realized in the near future, given that today we live among the urban society with so many pollutants?😣

Curtiss the One

Unique ONES Recently, an American motorcycle manufacturer named Curtiss Motorcycles Co. has released its newest bobber-style electric-powered motorbike named Curtiss the One. Well, the electric-powered motorcycle sells for starting at $81,000 or about Rp.1 billion more. The price is expensive enough, and might be made You amazed just a second.

All-new Curtiss the One is unique, on each of these electric-powered motorcycles can bedesigned individually by the prospective owner. Well, later they can choose ranging from a variety of materials and finishes in different ways, to create the unique motorbike as the owner want.

In general, the One still follows the Curtiss Motorcycles brand' distinctive design language inherent in the previous model. As usual, the motorbike appears in a bobber style constructed by the large aluminum frames, besides that the angle of the One's handlebars can also be adjusted in two positions, on the position of 27 degrees or 31 degrees. Another uniqueness is seen in the battery compartment which is made in such a way that its position and look is the same as the engine of conventional motorcycle has.

The power of Curtiss the One comes from a 399 volt battery with a radiator cooling system. On this radiator consisted many fins that each are connected to the aluminum battery housing. According to the manufacturer, the power output reaches up to 120 hp, with a maximum torque of 199 Nm. The battery and drive motor are housed in a robust chassis frame. All the suspensions on this electric-powered motorbike are made of carbon fiber.

Curtiss Motorcycles provides an opportunity for those of you who are interested to own the One by ordering through their official website. Later, the prospective buyers are required to deposit a down payment of $9,000 or around Rp.130 million. And You can ask for designs and submits the design adjustments for 90 days, after which your electric-powered motorcycle assembling process will take approximately 60 days.

The Curtiss' motorcycle assembly process is done by handmade and in a very limited number, which is built only 100 units. A unique Harley-Davidson engined single-seater trike

Unique ONES Many motorized vehicles with unique shapes lately are certainly very inspiring to know more about them. And that's how we felt when we first saw these three-wheeled motorcycles which we've considered unique on Pinterest. The name of the three-wheeled motorcycle is the Merlin Roadster Alpha Car and is made by an American auto manufacturer called Corbin Motors.

The Corbin Motors Company initially known as a motorcycle handy crafted saddle manufacturer that was founded by Mike Corbin and son, Tom Corbin in 1968. Over time, then the company was able to make motorcycle components up to develop and manufacture the unique motorized vehicles independently.

Back around the turn of the millennium, Corbin Motors had developed several fine piece of three wheelers. At that time the manufacturer developed 2 kinds of three wheelers products, namely Corbin Sparrow and Merlin both in Roadster and Coupe style.

Where the Sparrow was designed as an electric-powered three-wheeled vehicle for fun and functionality, the Merlin Coupe and Roadster were designed for pure fun powered by a V-twin engine of Harley-Davidson.

As quoted from Wikipedia, the company experienced ups and downs in its business journey, after successfully producing around 300 units of Sparrow in the 2003 the company experienced financial difficulties and was declared bankrupt by the court. So the Sparrow EV production had stopped, then back on the production lines in the 2005 after an Ohio businessman named Dana Myers bought the company shares in 2004 and forming the Myers Motors.

Back to Merlin Roadster, this open top single seater roadster was co-designed by Mike Corbin with world renowned automotive designer Don Varner. This stunning three wheeler made of fiberglass body panels with a single unique scissor door covers a tubular steel frame wrapped around a generous open rider compartment with tilt steering, dashboard and all weather seating.

The unique Merlin three wheeler powered by a Harley-Davidson V-twin engine at the front. Its power is delivered to the two front wheels through a four speed manual gearbox with reverse capability. The engine capable burst out power of 66 horsepower, so it could made the Merlin Roadster running up to the top speed of 120 mph. The Corbin Motors said to have made somewhere between 9 - 20 units of these before the project was discontinued in the 2003.

A weird pufferfish-likened dálník motorcycle of the 1950s

Weird ONES Some time ago, while on a surfing on the cyberspace, we've found a unique shaped motorcycle at the Quirky Rides' status on Tweeter, as if made we're curious to know more about this unique motorcycle. Indeed, the uniqueness of form is always used as the main factor to make a motorized vehicle look more attractive. This has been done by many automotive activists to date.

After searching for references on the internet for a while, we finally managed to find some informations that we considered valid about the motorcycle. From a source on Flickr, that's a dálník-styled motorcycle known as D-06 built over 5,000 work hours by a motorcycle builder who was living in Prague named Štěpána Poláka in the 1959. According to the source, besides uses a 1,200 cc 4-stroke engine, the unique motorcycle is said to have a bodywork resembled a fighter jet, but we saw it, more like a pufferfish. Well, if You saw it, what would it look like?😉

Dálník? Is there a 'Dálník' motorcycle brand? That's might be one of questions that will be raised regarding the name that accompanies the unique motorcycle. As quoted of the Hedonia sites, the 'Dálník' is more like a term rather than a motorcycle's brand. Furthermore, the term of dálník intended for a fascinating group of cabin motorcycles that have been constructed for the past 75 years by (mostly) the automotive lovers in the eastern Europe countries. It is not known where the term of dálník came from, but its design briefly is a combination of motorcycle and car with the virtues of both.

The "golden age" of the dálník was happened during the 1950s to 1960s, and the former Czechoslovakia was known as the center of the dálník styled motorcycles. Generally, these vehicles only able to carry two occupants in tandem like motorcycle generally, while the engine mounted behind the passenger, coupled with a unique streamline-styled bodywork. Some had openable flaps for the feet of the driver, when at rest, others used outrigger wheels to prevent falling over when it stopped, or even a few of them have the gyroscopic stabilizers.

Who was introduced or pioneered the dálník motorcycle style? The man who could be considered as the father of dalniks was Jan Anderlé, a brilliant engineer who had worked at the Czech aircraft factory named Aero. He was known to have built his first cabin motorcycle in the late 1930s, and over the years he has created many more. The dálník's basic idea was actually simple, namely to make a cheap two-wheeled car by yourself and it proved very popular among the workers in eastern Europe after the WW2.

Jan Anderlé and his wife fled to the West after the separation of Eastern Europe, but then his wife persuaded him to return. Unfortunately after they got back to the country, he was arrested for treason and forced to work in the state-owned uranium mines for the next 15 years. He spent much of the rest of his life in poverty and died in obscurity in 1982. However, the influence of the dálník vehicle type whose created by him cannot be denied to date.

Then, in the company context. Are there any automotive companies has experimented or even popularized the dálník motorcycles? NSU known has a big role in popularizing dálník motorcycles. The company based in the former East Germany ever created several incredible record-breaking dálník motorcycles in the 1950s. One of them nicknamed the Flying Hammock is held many motorcycle world speed and fuel efficiency records for years. That's no wonder, due to the streamline-designed NSU-made dálník in a teardrop shape was perfectly honed in the company's wind tunnel.

The dálníks are still being made and developed to date! The Swiss company named Peraves makes something called the EcoMobile powered by a 4-cylinder BMW motorcycle engine, this is probably the most sophisticated dálníks motorcycle ever sold to the public. The two seaters modern dálníks vehicle featured with comfortable full roll-cage cabin also known agile and incredibly fast.

According to the Paraves owner and founder Arnold Wagner, the EcoMobile dálník was the closest thing to flying that can be achieved on land. Reportedly, a year or twos before his death, Jan Anderlé was rediscovered by the EcoMobile maker company and asked him to be a design consultant to them. An attractive custom-built scooter

UNIQUE Ones It all started when We're surfing the internet and then found a picture of a unique custom-built scooter. We're very curious to know more about this unique scooter? ✂

The gorgeous UK's racing green colored custom scooter of Vespa wore in a unique bodywork resembled a classic car is seen to attend in a gathering event to celebrate the Father's Day 2016 held in Beaulieu Hants, New Forest - Hempshire, south of England. At first glance, we assumed that the custom-built scooter was scarce indeed and built based of a Vespa scooter model. And then when we see the scooter closely, it has a bodywork that resembles a classic car. 

We don't get much information about this scooter on the internet. As quoted from a HarleyRiders's tweet which states that this UK's typical racing green colored custom scooter is seen to attend at a gathering event to celebrate the Father's Day 2016 held in Beaulieu Hants, New Forest - Hempshire, south of England.

Indeed, the uniqueness of the custom made scooter mentioned above is very prominent, so that it reminds us of another not less unique scooter figure which ever made by an Indonesian builder named Bagas Roffiyanto named Komando (and we ever discussed it in an article in 2019).

The Avia III, a unique BMW's 750cc engined race car

ONE-OFF Sometimes the state's uncomfortable and unfavorable conditions that must be felt by automotive activists due to non-technical factors such as politics, ideology and others, do not always automatically kill their creativity either.

Well, at certain moments able to produce a work that is quite brilliant such as a unique car which was originally built from a motorcycle called the Avia III (chassis VH500328PT003) which was built in 1956. This BMW motorcycle engined race car specifally built in an aircraft factory near Prague by an employee, doctor, and pilot as well as a racer named Miroslav Jurca.

In terms of form, the body design of this racing car looks very unique made of aircraft grade aluminum. The race car is engineered and assembled to very impressive standards. Once completed, it was seen at various local racing events in Czechoslovakia and driven by Jurca himself.

As is known at the time, (the country was still called Czechoslovakia) and the communist government was in power there. And everything of westernized is considered against the state's policy and prohibited, so that when this racing car was completed to build, reportedly was confiscated by the communist government in the 1960, it presumed to be destroyed and lost.

Then the race car was rediscovered and restored by an American car collector but misidentified while was resurfaced again in the German's museum after its confiscation in 1960, which according to the car's document dated to 1987 as the 1948 Veritas-Loof monoposto.

It was also stated that the race car restoration process was carried out in New Zealand by Barry Leitch in 1988 commissioned by an American client named Bruce McCaw then sold to the Pat Hart Collection, after which it was occasionally raced and shown Stateside. The race car participated as the 1996 Pebble Beach Concours entrant.

In 2008, Jurca's American grandson, David, became the first family member to see the car since the state-sanctioned heist nearly 50 years earlier. And since then it has been intensively sorted and raced extensively including HMSA and CSRG events such as the Monterey Historics, etc. At the racing event, it can be said that the Avia III managed to prove is faster than the race cars that are much bigger and more powerful ones.

The view out front over those highly swept fenders must be resembled of a half-scale of the Auto Union streamliner, while the listing describes the performance as similar to that of the open wheel, single-seater junior motor racing formula called Formula Vee or Formula Volkswagen.
