After 28 years finally the statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana was completed

Yes, after 28 years, the masterpiece of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) statue was finally completed. As a new icon of tourism in Bali, the long journey from the building process of the statue finally sweetened with its inauguration marked by the presentation of an art performance named "Swadharma Ning Pertiwi," in the area of Garuda Wisnu Kencana Cultural Park, Bukit Ungasan, South Kuta, Badung Regency, Bali, at Saturday, August 4, 2018.

The GWK is one of the great masterpieces of Balinese art and culture. When it's still in the development stage, there's so many tourists have come to see it. Therefore, to GWK inauguration event, they made an art performance called Swadharma Ning Pertiwi which involved a line of famous Balinese artists. There were singers Dira Sugandi and Ayu Laksmi, dancers I Ketut Rina and Keni K Soeriaatmadja, as well as choreographer Eko Supriyanto.
The event titled 'Swadharma Ning Pertiwi', was held in order to welcome the completion of the construction of the GWK statue on Saturday, August 8,2018. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2BqXsXz)
"This is a form of appreciation to 120 artists who have been diligent, patient, and always work hard to compile the statue piece by piece, from day to day. Most of them have worked for 28 years," said the initiator and creator of Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue, Nyoman Nuarta on the GWK statue inauguration ceremony.

The idea of the GWK statue making since 1989
GWK is deliberately built to be a tourism landmark of Bali. The idea emerged in 1989, but the concept began in 1990, involving the Minister of Tourism at the time, Joop Ave (late), then Ida Bagus Oka (late), Ida Bagus Sudjana (late), and artist Nyoman Nuarta.
The initiator of the Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) statue, Nyoman Nuarta took a photo with the background of the GWK Statue in Ungasan, Badung, Bali, Tuesday, July 7, 2018. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2L6DlOd)
After obtaining the blessing of President Soeharto in 1993, the artists then conducted socialization in front of members, the leaders of Bali Regional Representative Council, Balinese community leaders and the communities around the GWK location will be built. At the time of the dissemination of the socialization, there was a pro-contra, but the groundbreaking pedestal of GWK statue was successfully implemented in 1997.

Although, the land processing has been carried out around Bukit Ungasan, Jimbaran since 1994-1996, to become what it is today. In its journey, the construction of the GWK statue did indeed experience ups and downs, even when the monetary crisis struck in 1998, Nyoman Nuarta, who at the time had 82 percent of the shares could no longer afford to maintain his ownership. And in 2012, he had to be willing to PT. Alam Sutra Realty Tbk to acquire GWK shares. However, he remains committed to completing the construction of the GWK statue.

The 2nd highest statue in the world
After completion, the GWK statue turned out has a 121 meters tall with weighing up to 3,000 tons. With its height, it means the GWK statue is higher than the Statue of Liberty in New York, which has only 93 meters high.
After 28 years finally the statue of Garuda Wisnu Kencana was completed. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2MmOBLV)
But the statue of GWK is still inferior to the tallest statue in the world, namely Spring Temple Buddha in China, which reaches 153 meters high. Thus, the statue of GWK became the second highest statue in the world.

Physically, the statue of GWK becomes a copper sculpture with the largest cast welding technique in the world. These statue of GWK is the first largest statue to be built with a piece by piece welding system. Because statues like Liberty in New York are generally done with metal cast techniques.

"In simple terms, the scaling of the sculpture is done by cast welding techniques and I have patented this," said Nyoman Nuarta.

A form of proving Indonesia's ability to the world
Indonesia does have many heritage buildings that are known to all over the world, such as the Borobudur Temple. But with the success of the GWK statue built, it becomes a new proof that developing countries like Indonesia can build masterpieces for the world.
"GWK will be proof that we are sovereign in the field of culture and we hope that the world cultural orientation will occur at the GWK Cultural Park because there are not only the statues, but also world cultural forums," said Nyoman Nuarta further.

The following is a video of Nyoman Nuarta, Maestro Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue:
According to the target, this nation's GWK sculpture was completed in August 2018 as one of the best offerings of this nation's children during Indonesia's 73rd independence celebration. Although the statue has been completed, but the surrounding area as a cultural park will continue to be built and developed. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | ASUMSI | TRIBUN NEWS]

Two-headed sedan made in Bandung

Not a little money that was poured to modify Toyota Vios Limo sedan in 2012 to be two-headed. Some time ago this car was viral when ticketed by police in Sukajadi Street, Bandung.

And the owner claimed to have predicted it and he was resigned when ticketed by the police. Roni Gunawan (71) as the car owner also claimed to spend up to Rp. 200 million to realize his crazy idea.

"If the total amount of car modifications funds alone reached Rp.180 million for two cars and for two-headed car modification spent around Rp.60 million," said Roni when met at his workshop at Babakan Cibeureum Street, Bandung on Thursday, January 17, 2018.

Roni said the manufacturing process done by Gemah Ripah Taxi mechanics who is well acquainted with these Toyota Vios Limo sedan. The car modifications take up to three months.

"When the process of modification, engine vehicles and the interior is removed and cleaned, leaving only the car body alone, the engine was first removed to facilitate the merging of two car heads," said Roni.

The process of making it astonishing because the car body cut is actually done manually by welding specialist mechanics. And according to him, two cars cut in the middle by way of weld and combined again by using welding.

"The combined process must be done careful so that the precision and the pieces are neat and the same height, not to the high side, for this process takes up to two months," said Roni. So, where did the idea of such peculiar and unique modifications begin? Roni just call a fad only.
"At first it was fun, the idea came out in a dreamy day in the bathroom, so there are two idle cars that are not used, so they are hesitant because they were afraid to fail , after they were given time, they tried and found they could, "Roni said. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | TRIBUNNEWS | THESUN ]

Kala Bendu, a Psycho Engine's handmade V-Twin custom motorcycle

Psycho Engine kicked off again the public at Kustomfest 2017 sometime ago. After on the same event last year also shocked the jury through the creation of 'Naga Lima', a motorcycle with 5 cylinder engine.

Yes, now in the Kustomfest 2017, The Purwokerto based workshop show their special custom motorcycle named 'Kala Bendu,' a motorcycle with a 815cc V-Twin engine that is 90 percent handmade built in. Kala Bendu itself has meaning "Ora Edan, Ora Kumanan" or "Do not go crazy not miss out."
'Handmade' here means that the machine is really made by themself and not just a modification.

According to the owner of Psycho Engine, M. Yusuf Adib Mustofa, that he deliberately made the machines, frames, and others by themselves in accordance with the theme of Kustomfest 2017 ie 'No Boundaries.'

So it is not surprising that these custom motorcycle finally won the 'Best People Choice' title in the Kustomfest 2017 which held at Jogja Expo Center (JEC), Yogyakarta, (October 7-8, 2017).

815cc V-Twin Engine
For the machine, Yusuf made by his own the Kala Bendu's crankcase. The crankshaft and transmission containers are made from a mixture of metal waste. The material is from parts of unused machine blocks, which are then melted and reprinted for a new crankcase.

Engine blocks and cylinder heads uses the part of Bajaj Pulsar 200. Yusuf said it takes 4 blocks of Pulsar 200 cylinder. From four parts of the block then cut by him into 2 cylinders as the pistons place.

The piston rod uses the part of the old Norton with a stroke length of 100 mm, while the 72 mm in diameter piston taken from the Honda Excelent car. For camshaft, he uses custom cam. The degree and size of the sprinkler valve device was machined in accordance with the results of his calculations.

Here are several pictures of Kala Bendu engine (All pictures taken from: http://bit.ly/2xA0OFw)

"The compression factor is low at 9:1, which is supposed to be ideal at 10:1, but I'll look for it later after this. Because with this size it has reached 120 km/h, if the timing belt that used is the part of Mitsubishi L300 petrol engine," he said.

In order to be safe and not hit by a lawsuit, Yusuf made his V-Twin engine with a 43-degree angle. This is because the 45-degree angle belongs to Harley-Davidson, while the Indians engine was 42 degrees.

Exterior
Not complete if the machine is made itself but the exterior is not. After completing the machine matters, then he switching to make the framework of a motorcycle. Where the frames itself is made of 30 mm diameter pipe and 6 mm thickness. The frame was combined with the Yamaha R15's front shock that has been modified with an additional oil tube.

There is something interesting here that is the form of rear suspension. Instead of monoshock installed, Yusuf rather uses two shock units that are made in a horizontal position. Those shock units were given an additional plate and connect to the middle of the rear arm made of 2 mm pipe box.

Here are several pictures of Kala Bendu accesories. (All pictures taken from: http://bit.ly/2xA0OFw)

Because it using the rims that taken from the Honda CX500 which originally use axle, in here Yusuf was forced to re-create the rear wheel holder to be driven by the chain. Where the chain is connected with gearbox taken from the 1956 BSA 350.

While the gas tank is made of 1.2 mm drum plate and wasp tail from 2 mm plate. Finally as a sweetener, tank, wasp tail and upholstery then covered with genuine leather complete with special Javanese ethnic carvings of the puppet figures and mega mendung motifs made by Cetul Leather Art from Yogyakarta.

The plan first surfaced through Indonesian Army (TNI AD) internal magazine, Palagan, on last March 2017 edition. In details mentioned that it will be purchased was the Mi-26T2 Halo, one of the newest types of Mi-26 Halo helicopter family made by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant, part of the Russian Helicopters. Thus Indonesia immediately followed Algeria, Venezuela who had already used it to strengthen their helicopter fleets.

On the RKPB's hand, these Mi-26T2 helicopter went through a revolution. The helicopter from heavy-lift transport class then has a glass cockpit with LCD, control panel, airborne computer and infrared tracking system. Even if desired, the Mi-25T2 helicopter can also be equipped with TSL-1600 Tranzas device, an additional instrument to support night flight by adopting night vision goggles (NVG).

Other avionics features installed on the Mi-26T2 helicopter such as BREO-26 digital avionics suite to improve flight stability and control in various conditions and terrain. Then there is the NPK 90-2 flight and navigation system combined with AVSTAR/GLONASS satellite based communication system. The Mi-25T2 is also equipped airborne flight recorder system, backup device system, on-board control system, and a gyro stabilized optoelectronic clock system.

On engine's side, the Mi-26T2 also has been modernized by using the new Ivchenko-Progress D-136-2 turbo engine from Motor Sich. The machine has a Full Authority Automatic Control (FADEC) technology. This machine is capable of spraying power of 11,650 hp and can be increased to 12,500 hp in a short time, for emergency conditions.

The new engine is also capable of showing a steady performance even though the helicopter is assigned in hot areas and at altitudes. Standard fly helicopter cruising distance reached 800 km with a maximum speed of 295 kph, but with an extra fuel tank, mileage of this helicopter can be increased up to 1,905 km.
The Mi-26T2 is the world's largest helicopter operated today with a maximum takeoff weight of 56 tons and is capable of carrying a total cargo weighing of 20 tons. It is certain that this helicopter is able to carry the BMP-3F amphibious tank which is the mainstay of Indonesian Marines or Ural 4320 trucks.

For military mobility business for example, this helicopter can even match the capacity of C-130 Hercules to load a company of infantry troops with complete weaponry can be directly transported. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | RADAR MILITER | GARDA NASIONAL]

Realizing the Future Sport Bike of CBR250RR

Loving futuristic things make Peterson Rivai successfully won the Honda Modif Contest 2016 on National Matic Class. Now, when he challenged to pour his idea on the Honda Dream Ride Project 2017, he again presents a future-themed motorcycle, which is named 'Future Sport Bike CBR250RR'.

"From the first I was interested in matters relating to the future, including for motorcycles. That's why I made the Future Sport Bike Concept because I like to fancy about future motorcycles," said the man who likes the science fiction movies to NaikMotor.

No half-hearted, to support the Future Bike concept view, the buider from Bandung-based workshop named Zone Modified Project is to make itself almost all the details on the motorcycle. Starting from the fairing, bodylight, rims, front forks, headlight, stoplamp, and turn lights at the end of the brake lever.
The Future Sport Bike concept is built because the builder likes to fancy about future motorcycles. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2vs1N4X)
According to Peterson, the difficulty in the manufacturing process is to unify the concept as a whole. Because Honda gave the requirement that the characteristics of a standard motorcycle must remain visible. There are two choices, tank and headlamp (fairing). If changing the tank then it should not change the headlamp and vice versa.
Rear side view of Honda CBR250RR Custom Future Sport Bike. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2vs1N4X)
"Most difficult to make a front girder. After that just combine the concept of design as a whole, between the tank, girder and fairing. Because the tank can not be changed. I choose a tank because if the bike use a standard headlamp will not fit the concept," he said.

For the body is 'matching' now turn to adjust the height of the air suspension. "If people see first will say, it's too short, can it run? So we use this air suspension. The point is to set the higher-lower position is difficult to fit the proportion of the body," he said.
After three months of making process, finally the Future Bike Concept completed and then introduced in Jogyakarta. However, Peterson admits he still wants more. "For the design is satisfied, but still feel there is less hell in detail. Yes because of time constraints actually," he concluded.
