Bugatti revived its classic car toy with electric motor drive

Most people know Bugatti as a manufacturer that produces millions of dollars worth of supercars that use extra-large engines (16 cylinders with a capacity of 8 liters), such as Chiron or Divo. So in the end it's hard to predict when Bugatti will touch the realm of electric cars like many other car manufacturers do.
500 linited-edition of Bugatti Baby II built for celebrate the brand's 110th anniversary. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2SPqzKY)
But uniquely at the Geneva Motor Show last year, they actually have officially unveiled its first electric car. Unfortunately it is not as we all imagined, instead of making an electric version of Chiron or Divo, the mentioned electric car is a reincarnation of Bugatti Baby, a toy car which has undergone many renewal.
Bugatti Baby itself is a functional replica of Bugatti Type 35, the most legendary racing car ever created by Ettore and Jean Bugatti in 1926 as a gift for Rolland, his youngest son's 4th birthday. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2SPqzKY)
As quoted from the company official website, the Bugatti Baby itself is a functional replica of Bugatti Type 35, the most legendary racing car ever created by Ettore and Jean Bugatti. At that time (1926), Baby was made in the size of half of Type 35 as a gift for Rolland, his youngest son's 4th birthday, before finally being produced in limited numbers (500 units) from 1927 to 1936.
To celebrate its 110th anniversary in 2019, Bugatti was introducing the smallest member of the Bugatti family: the Baby II. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2SPqzKY)
Well, for the Bugatti Baby II that has appeared at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show made to commemorate the company's 110th anniversary last year in limited quantities, ie only 500 units. And the Molsheim-based auto manufacturer in collaboration with the Little Car Company intentionally maintains almost all aspects that make the original Baby look so unique, but not to forget giving it modern touches.
The Bugatti Baby II get a touch of French Racing Blue, but its buyers can order in a variety of other color alternatives. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2ulvyJT)
The main differentiator is the engine. Yes, Baby II is purely using an electric motor, with two rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. The first battery has a capacity of 1.4 kWh for standard use and the second has a capacity of 2.8 kWh for long distances. And the Molsheim-based auto manufacturer claims Baby II's maximum mileage is more than 30 km.
The Bugatti Baby II was equipped with two batteries that can be used as needed. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/39RibjC)
The performance can be adjusted; if the driver was a child, there is a "Child Mode" option, which will produce an output of 1 kW of power with a maximum speed of 20 kph. Furthermore, there is still a choice for "Adult Mode," which will boost its power to 4 kW, with a top speed of 45 kph.
The Bugatti Baby II was sold with prices starting at €30,000 or approx Rp. 450 millions. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/39RibjC)
Interestingly, this is not the ultimate capability of Baby II, because Bugatti also provides an optional upgrade package in the form of a "Speed Key" to unlock its true potential (same as Chiron): 10 kW power output, without speed limiter for you who want more power.
If you ask why there is Child Mode and Adult Mode? Yes, unlike the Baby, the Baby II can also be driven by adults, because its size is slightly larger than its classic predecessor and has been enlarged to three-quarters of Type 35 making it possible to be drove by adults.
And the company has been producing it starting in the spring of last year, and sold with prices starting at €30,000 or approx Rp. 450 millions. Are you interested in having one of the Bugatti's limited edition toys? *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | BUGATTI BABY | BUGATTI]

One of the most sophisticated performance vehicles of the 21st century

The world's automotive development is increasingly interesting to be noticed. Today which had been entering the 2nd month of 2020 there are a number of major automotive expo events to be held soon in the next view days.

As we all knew, that the automotive expo event is always used by many parties who involve in the world's automotive industries as a place to display everything related to the technologies progress been achieved in the world's automotive, and one of them to be held in this March is the Geneva International Motor Show.
The Czinger 21C is a 3D-printed hybrid hypercar from the US and plans to unveil it at the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2tVzG34)
There's good news comes from California, where one of the automotive startup companies in there reportedly will launch its first hypercar figure at the 2020 Geneva International Motor Show later.

As quoted from Jalopnik, the figure behind the emergence of the vehicle is Kevin Czinger, who is the same person behind the emergence of the other first 3D-printed high-performance car named the Divergent Blade some times ago.
Kevin Czinger, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founder of Czinger Vehicles in the Divergent Blade. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/1IefWpD)
And now, through the Czinger Vehicles (that's the name of the automotive company of his-owned), which has a production base outside of Los Angeles plans to launch its first hypercar production named Czinger 21C. Although there are still no detailed technical specifications from the Czinger 21C, it is known that the vehicle was also made using the 3D-Print technology.
The Czinger 21C features a mix of 3D-printed components and off-the-shelf parts and has two seats positioned in tandem. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2HXh46p)
According to him, this vehicle will use a self-developed hybrid drive and is claimed with almost unlimited power delivery. And from the hypercar images currently circulating in cyberspace showing that its driver is sitting in the middle of the cockpit and the space behind which is then fitted with the tandem seat for passengers.
By using a hybrid powertrain that makes 1,250 horsepower, the Czinger 21C able to hit 62 mph in 1.9 seconds. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2V99MEh)
And hypercar drive is seen mounted behind a large glass dome, which is passed by a carbon buffer. The large wing at the rear provides sufficient contact pressure on the rear axle. The wheel has a quick-release key, which is known from motorsport. Ceramic brake systems can also be seen - and are also expected given the expected high-performance data. The exhaust is positioned centrally in the Koenigsegg style giving the sound of a hybrid car. Between the wings and the exhaust, there are LED rear lights that run across the entire width of the vehicle.
Power is delivered via a seven-speed sequential transaxle gearbox that was custom-built by Czinger. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2tVzG34)
Czinger claims that his first vehicle will be "one of the most sophisticated performance vehicles in the 21st century". What could be the explanation of names: 21 and C for Century. But it can also give an indication of performance if 2,100 horsepower. Given the high proportion of carbon fiber and the cost of developing in-house drives. And the company is reportedly building just 80 units, divided between 25 track and 55 road iterations and will cost from the US $1.7m each.
And for those of you who want to see the appearance of the hypercar intact figure, you might have to be a little patient until the Geneva International Motor Show 2020 is started on March 3, 2020, later. See ya!!. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FREENET | JALOPNIK | MOTORAUTHORITY | HYPERBEAST]

The forerunner electric car of Ford

Echoes of a pure electric powered car sounds like it's crowded in recent years. Moreover, Nissan began selling the Leaf as the world's first mass electric car or because Tesla more "happening" among the actors and actresses of Hollywood, so the attention of the world.
Ford’s electric Comuta Concept had first debuted in Geneve Motor Show 1967. (PIcture from: http://bit.ly/1vR8TJY)
Actually, the electric car technology is already there from the 1960s, but its development did not get a good response by the community. The proof, Ford has ever introducing Ford Comuta, as the pure electricity tech two-seater compact concept car in 1967.
Look how small are the size of these two cars of 1967 Ford Comuta battery-powered concept car compared to one normal-sized sedan(PIcture from: http://bit.ly/39sQsWi)
This car is a prototype and equipped with four 12-volt batteries, Comuta able to move as far as 60 km with an average speed of 40 kph in one single charge. It could also be invited to speeding up to 60 kph.

Although still a concept, but the presence of Comuta an authentic proof that electric car technology is not new. Now, a number of automotive manufacturers are still trying to make the technology is proven and reliable.

Interestingly, there is a quote of Leonard Crossland, Managing Director of Ford at the time said, "We hope that electric cars can be started commercially viable within the next 10 years, even though we believe in the type of vehicle will be used primarily for introduction in the city car or car shopping in the countryside."

Crossland continued, "The internal combustion engine (conventional) will still be the key for long-distance travel and driving the automotive industry, but we also believe that electric cars have a role discover the future of human transportation future."
After 10 years introduction of Comuta, as is known, no anything about the development of electric cars. But now, almost all manufacturers vying to prepare the electric car to be sold into the market. As an icon of the automotive industry's development history, two units of Ford Comuta is still tucked neatly at the Science Museum of London, in England. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOCAR | GIZMAG]

The cars are seen passing fast in several European racing circuits in a very short time, between 1966 and 1967 with some quite impressive achievement records, namely by winning several racing competitions like the 1000 km Nürburgring and several European's Hillclimb series in 1967.
This electric-powered Kreisel Evex 910e price soars dramatically to US $1.07 million or around Rp.14.2 billion. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3bdmmb7)
In the end, there's a piece of good news when an Austrian company called Kreisel Electric in collaboration with Evex Fahrzeugbau, a German automotive company is rebuilt the Porsche 910 model by using the electric drive which was then called the Kreisel Evex 910E in 2017. Just for info, the Austrian company has ever produced an electric version of the Mercedes Benz G Class which later used by one of Hollywood's famous actors, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The all-electric performance of the car is also impressive thanks to the high-energy-density 53 kWh battery pack that they managed to fit in a 1,100 kg (2,400 lbs) car. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3bdmmb7)
As quoted from Motor1, when viewed from its physical appearance, this fully electric-powered car looks similar to the original Porsche 910 but it can be sure this car may pass on public roads, thanks to the electric power it carries. To make the electric version, so the Porsche 910 sports car should be experienced a total modification mainly to swap its conventional engine to the electric drive system so that it fully uses electricity.

Reportedly as well, due to the application of the electric drive system in it so made the car's price soar dramatically to US $1.07 million or around Rp.14.2 billion. And to support the car's performance, Kriesel installed a 53 kWh battery system to supply power to the electric motors so as able to produce power of up to 483 hp and torque of 770 Nm. And then the power is channeled to the wheels through a two-speed transmission system.

By using those power, so the 910e is claimed to be able to accelerate from 0-100 kilometers per hour with a record time of 2.5 seconds with top speed through to reach 300 kph. While the car's cruising range reaching as far as 350 km for a single battery recharged.

As for the exterior design of the car, Kriesel entrusted it to Evex Fahrzeugbau, a German automotive company to make changes that were felt necessary to some parts of the car. The vintage style was also maintained like its original car style. Yes, making slight adjustments from the side of the frame due to the use of conventional engines are different from electric drives.
The company said that only 35 units were originally produced, and later 4 units were built by Evex. Here's the Origin, the future autonomous taxi concept

At present vehicles that apply autonomous driving technology are becoming a trend in the world's automotive industry. This can be seen from one startup of General Motors' subsidiary, named Cruise Automation which recently launched a fully autonomous concept vehicle called Cruise Origin.
The Cruise Origin concept in a city setting. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2GOkuHU)
Until now the company has not mentioned in detail the technical specifications of the autonomous vehicle. However, the company only mentioned the vehicle's construction purpose, namely to reduce the level of congestion, pollution, and as an effort to provide public transportation services at an affordable cost. Besides that, the company also confirmed that the vehicle is using a General Motors' electric vehicles platform.
Cruise co-founder Kyle Vogt shows off the company’s first autonomous vehicle, the Origin. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/38TXyTE)
Because this car applies an autonomous driving system, so it is natural that Cruise Origin does not have a steering wheel and the pedals that are common in cars in general. All components are removed to expand the space inside the car. Yes, in the vehicle's cabin there are two rows of seats facing each other, and it seems the vehicle designer wants to give the impression of the vehicle's cabin like a lounge that has spacious legroom for each its passenger.
The Cruise Origin has no steering wheel or pedals, room for six and will call San Francisco its home to start. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/38TXyTE)
It was also stated that the company was very concerned about safety as one of the most important aspects of an autonomous vehicle so that Cruise Origin had a multitude of sensors installed in layers and designed to track many people and objects while the vehicle uses. In addition, these sophisticated sensing systems can also be used in dark conditions and even bad weather such as rainy or foggy.

The company said that when the car is operated for the public in San Francisco, users can order it online so they can save the US $ 5,000 (approx Rp.68 million) a year compared if they owning a private car or even using a taxi service. In addition, Cruise Origin is claimed to have wearability of more than 1.6 million km.
But unfortunately, until now Cruise Automation has not provided a statement when the autonomous vehicle will be launched and used for the public or about the travel fare that should be issued by users if it is operated. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CRUISE AUTOMATION | EXTREMETECH | DETROIT BUREAU]

Here's Ford's electrocuted Mustang to be a Tesla's serious rival

The competition for electric cars is increasingly attractive with many the world's automotive manufacturers bringing their best cars into electric-powered cars. Now it's Ford's turn to change its famous powerful Mustang' pony into an electric-powered car.
2020 Ford Mustang Mach-E officially debuted at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2Ubmf9V)
Yes, in 55 years of Ford Mustang's presence in the world's automotive, this is the first time that the American brand officially made the electrocuted Mustang line-up in the SUV version. Yes, Ford has just stirred up the world's automotive by introducing an electric-powered SUV that carries the famous name as the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Ford Chairman Bill Ford, left, and CEO James Hackett reveal the company’s first mass-market electric car, the Mustang Mach-E, at a ceremony in Hawthorne on Nov. 17, 2019. (Picture from: https://lat.ms/37Cuyzq)
The electric-powered car was first introduced at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show in November 17, 2019. And the Ford Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition was the launched model's name, and it claimed has performance that is no less ferocious than other legendary Mustang pony models.

The Mach-E is not only the first electric version of the Mustang but also the car that was first configured to be a sport utility vehicle (SUV). That will test the elasticity of the brand that was initially built as a sports car.

Inspired by its ancestors (the Model T), the car brings freedom, advancement, high performance and a bit rebellious spirits. Everything is so easy to achieve thanks to the electric motor applied to it. Besides carrying a brand new technology, it also gets the ease of achieving high performance. At least, it can spit out a power of 255 horsepower with a peak torque of 415 Nm.
The Mustang Mach-E design preservation efforts were executed by making a long bonnet line so that the cabin position is slightly backward so that made a characterize of the Rear Wheel Drive car posture arise. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3aSSzUR)
The Ford' electric pony is said to be offered with two battery options and two drive systems. With the farthest range can be achieved through its extended-range batteries combined with two-wheel drive options. Reportedly, the electric-powered Mustang is capable of traveling around 480 km in a single battery charged.

While its faster acceleration capability is owned by the standard battery with four-wheel drive options. Also mentioned, the car's ability of acceleration from 0 to 100 kph is faster than the lowest variant of Porsche Macan.
The Mustang Mach-E  interior is simply designed without many buttons, like other electric cars. All arrangements are made through a 15.5-inch-sized screen in the middle that has adopted the latest SYNC infotainment device. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2uNiRqZ)
If all that was offered above was still felt underpowered, don't worry Ford still provided 2 high-performance variants namely GT and GT Performance. Where the GT variant is expected to compete with the Macan Turbo because it is able to accelerate in under four seconds. As for the GT Performance variant, it can be compared with the 911 GTS due to it has an acceleration time of 3.5 seconds. At this point, the motors' potential power generated is definitely abundant, where both of these variants are capable of spraying power up to 459 hp and 830 Nm of torque to the rear or front wheels.

In terms of design, it is undeniable that the Mach-E has the most eccentric appearance. Where the car appears in the profile of an SUV, it made the iconic fastback coupe strokes that had been attached to the Mustang's name was fade off. But due to carries the legendary name, then Ford still retains its trademark. It could be seen on its unsoft and 'back to basic' silhouettes like most EVs. The design preservation efforts were executed by making a long bonnet line so that the cabin position is slightly backward so that made a characterize of the Rear Wheel Drive car posture arise.

Its face can be identified as the latest Mustang interpretation. There's an intimidating glow of its narrowed sharply eyes. In addition, there is an illusion of fake grille flanked by the headlights. Why we call it as an illusion, due to it has no cavity and doesn't have any function as it should be. Only a battery needs the air and is reached through the lower channel. Its other identity is found on the stern, there're three-beams rear light was stand fills the outer corner, and depicting wide and stable easel position.

While the interior is simply designed without many buttons, like other electric cars. All arrangements are made through a 15.5-inch-sized screen in the middle that has adopted the latest SYNC infotainment device. The menu and interface are claimed to be easy to operate so the intuition can be built to be able to provide navigation advice for the driver while on driving with it. Ford said, it also provided a system update that allows increased performance and added features in the future.
This car goes on sale in 2020 with the Premium and First Edition trims only. While the Select model, California Route 1 and GT Performance to be sold in 2021. Until now, there is no specific information about the official price tags, even though the car order has been opened on the Ford official sites. The price is estimated to be in the range of the US $40,000 - $60,000 (or approx Rp.563 million to 845 million) depending on the specifications. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FORD | LA TIMES | FORBES | DRIVING.CO.UK]

The car that will be developed by GM is the Hummer HX and will be produced at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant in Michigan, a plant that will be used entirely to mix electric cars. Even GM has invested the US $3 billion for the plant.

As quoted from Motor1, which revealed the reason they chose the Hummer as one part of the development of electric cars because the Hummer name is widely known as a tough car in its segment, especially in the American market.

The automotive executive observer of Cox Automotive, Karl Brauer said that Hummer will increasingly skyrocket under the management of GM who already has experience as the best management in the automotive world. And by presenting it in a different technology wrapped will make Hummer more in demand.

"This collaboration is very perfect because Hummer is a car that dominates the popularity of pickups and SUVs for buyers in America, even when the industrial recession occurred," said Brauer.

The video below explains about the Hummer HX Concept that appeared at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show:
For many lovers of tough cars, the choice of reviving Hummer as an electric car will further strengthen its dominance, amidst the desire of many countries who want to transform from conventional cars to environmentally friendly electric cars.
But GM hasn't announced exactly when, Hummer HX will start to fill to the production line, but they are optimistic that in the next few years Hummer will re-pave with strength and privileges as a tough environmentally friendly car. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | INSIDE EV | WALL STREET JOURNAL | MOTOR1]

Chrysler has resurrected its Airflow into an athletically premium crossover

As we all knew, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) was listed as one of the participants who attended the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2020) and has exhibited its newest concept car with fully-digital cabin technology named Chrysler Airflow Vision
Chrysler Airflow Vision concept car for the CES 2020 where the interior is effectively all-digital, with six screens handling the experience for the driver and passengers. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/38cofTg)
Actually, the 'Airflow' is an aerodynamic sedan that was introduced by Chrysler to the US market in the 1930s, but for the present model that comes in 2020 by using the same name is said as an athletically sculpted premium crossover vehicle with a distinctive appearance and strong focus on user experience.
The company's today sophisticated concept car name derived from 1934 Chrysler Airflow. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/2Tvgzr0)
Inside the cabin, it has been equipped with six screens to pamper the driver and passengers. As reported by Engadget, the only physical buttons in the cabin are the starter button and the navigation button on the steering wheel. Besides that inside the interior is also equipped with ambient lighting and a slim profile chair that allows more spacious legroom and personal storage.

It was also stated that Airflow Vision prioritizes a user interface that is "safe, easy to use and understand," with a system that is simple, consistent and readable so that it will not disturb the driver. This interface can also be personalized based on individual tastes. It is also possible to share photos with anyone in the cabin, for example, if the driver wants to tell the route to the passenger.

There's also the LED exterior lighting and a large blade that appears to span the width of the concept’s front end and other elements could well be incorporated into its future vehicles. Besides that, this Chrysler's concept also featuring a highly unusual wheels design.

There is no more detailed information about the performance of the car itself. The concept car is based on the Chrysler Pacifica plug-in hybrid system, but it is not yet clear whether this will be a hybrid car, fully electric-powered or something completely different.

The thing to remember is, the concept car made by Fiat Chrysler is still in the prototype stage. And we thought also that the Chrysler Airflow Vision is too outlandish a concept to be anywhere near production lines.
But if it managed to get into the production line, then at least there should be minimal changes in order to meet the needs of users who are accustomed to driving with physical buttons. Due to physical buttons are also useful for reducing interference when driving. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FCA | ENGADGET | GULFNEWS | MOTOR1 | CAR ADVICE | AUTOBLOG]
