Chilli Island, an electric-powered private island

The most expensive tropical island is currently listed at Sotheby's International Realty is a sandy island in French Polynesia called Motu Matatahi. Lies about an hour by boat from the Bora Bora airport, and valued US $270,000.

Future Seabed Explorers

Experts had just made the first underwater robot named U-CAT. This turtle-shaped robot has excellent movement. U-CAT Robot exhibited at Robot Safari in the London Science Museum, was designed such that it can go in and writhed in the shipwrecks.

The movement principle of U-CAT robot is similar to sea turtles. It could automatically control of four fin, making this robot in a dynamic maneuver. U-CAT can swim back and forth, up and down, and turn in all directions. Maneuver is the feature needed when checking narrow spaces such as in shipwrecks. In the water, U-CAT robot was bring onboard camera can record a video so it can be used to reconstruct underwater sites.

"U-CAT is specifically designed for users who want to identify the bottom of the sea. The U-CAT fins could drive the robot in any direction without stirring up mud from the bottom of the water that will decrease visibility," said Taavi Salumäe, a designer of U-CAT robot concept and researchers from the Center for Biorobotic in Tallinn University of Technology. Underwater robots now widely used by the oil and gas industry as well as to maintain the sea defenses.

For the purposes of identification of the shipwrecks, the robot is still too big and expensive. Today, the shipwrecks was explored by divers. However, this dive was consuming time and cost not a bit. U-CAT robot is part of the ARROWS European Union research project funding, which is developing technology to help underwater archaeologist. Technology of ARROWS project will be tested in the Mediterranean Sea and the Baltic Sea, the two European historic regions in the different environment.
"In the ARROWS project, U-CAT will work closely with the bigger underwater robot project and jointly developing image recognition technology for the discovery, identification and reconstruction of underwater sites," said Dr. Sebastiano Tusa, an underwater archaeologist of the Local Government Sicily.

Titanic II will be built in China

Still remember the ambitions of Australia billionaire, Clive Palmer, who wants to build a replica of the legendary luxury liner, Titanic? It turns out he was serious, he unveiled the blueprints of the massive ship at a press conference at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum on Tuesday (February 26, 2013) and will begin construction in China and is ready to set sail early in 2016 by the same route, from Southampton, England, to New York City, USA and will have a crew of 900 people looking after its 2,435 passengers.

With four funnels and three classes of passenger travel, Titanic II will have some luxuries that were not available on Titanic I--a state-of-the-art hospital, a helicopter pad, and Wi-Fi and air-conditioning. Palmer convinced the ship was not going to repeat the failure of the original Titanic because it would successfully navigate the ocean. Palmer said: "The cabin passengers will have the exact same design, but there will be modern things like air-conditioning and other features are still under consideration, for example the internet in the ship,"

"This ship has so far had 40,000 people on our website for tickets, we’ve had 16 people that have offered to pay more than $750,000 to $1 million per cabin," said Clive Palmer who is the chairman of shipping company Blue Star Line.

Another 6 Amphibious Vehicles

1. SPIRA4U

Claimed to be the fastest amphibious car in the world, the Python weights 1,725 kg and comes custom-built to meet your preferences with 60,000 exterior and 4,000 interior color options.

3. QUADSKI
Unlike the previous two models of vehicles, this amphibious vehicle, Quadski has ATV character. The Vehicle designer is a New Zealand businessman Alan Gibbs.

The Quadski's power comes from a 1.3-liter, four-cylinder BMW engine that pumps out 175 horsepower and 103 pound-feet of torque. Output is limited to 80 hp on land, while a six-speed automatic gearbox powers it through the twisties and inclines. This four-wheeled motorcycle can go up to speeds of 70 km/h both on land and water. To change the mode of driving from land to water and vice versa, it only takes five seconds.

The Quadski was go on sale in November 2012 in Florida, USA. The price of U.S. $40,000 (or approx Rp. 384 million), but the worldwide sold will be done in 2014. 4. TERRA WIND
In September 2004, commercial pilot John Giljam built an amphibious motor home that cost U.S. $1.2 million (or approx Rp. 11,5 billion) and was 42 feet long. Powered by a rear-mounted 330-hp diesel engine, the all-aluminum bodied home on wheels uses two propellers and two rudders when it's floating.

It has two inflatable pontoons on its sides for stability but can travel on water without them. Giljam now builds other amphibious machines through a company called Cool Amphibious Manufacturers International, which also builds DUKW-type vehicles for tour companies.

5. SEAROADER
Englishman Mike Ryan designed and built his first Land Rover-based SeaRoader amphibian in 30 days back in the 1980s.

He's built amphibious motorcycles, a Lamborghini-bodied amphibian, and his shop engineered the three floating cars featured on Top Gear in 2006.

The SeaRoader is Ryan's first production amphibian, made with steel body panels. It sells for U.S. $42,000 (or approx Rp. 403 million). The on-road propulsion comes from the Land Rover's original 1.7-liter turbodiesel engine. In the water, a separate marine engine and output jet in the back can push the SeaRoader to 6 mph.

6. DOBBERTIN SURFACE ORBITER
Using a double-wall stainless-steel milk tank from the back of a truck, Rick Dobbertin from Cazenovia, N.Y., built an amphibious truck that he drove from Florida to South America via the Gulf of Mexico, and back to the U.S. on land in 1995.

It took him four and a half years to build the craft, which is 32 feet long, 7.5 feet wide, 10 feet high, and weighs 9 tons fully loaded. Its GM diesel V-8 makes 250 hp and powers all six wheels. The "surface orbiter" has traveled 33,000 miles (53,108 km) on land, 3,000 miles (4,228 km) in the sea, and was sold in a 1999 divorce auction for U.S. $200,000 (or approx Rp. 1.9 billion). Around the World With Solar Power

Expeditions around the world with ships already made history when Ferdinand Magellan did it for the first time in 1519-1522, using sailing ships. Now MS Tûranor PlanetSolar made new history as the first solar-fueled ships around the world. 
After an amazing 18-month journey, the Tûranor PlanetSolar sun-powered boat completes its around-the-world trip today! The world's largest solar-powered boat originally launched on its worldwide trip from Monaco in September 2010 and today (May 4th) the boat will officially finish the trip. The Swiss-designed solar boat is powered by 537 square meters of photovoltaic panels that enabled it to travel around the world and hit spots like Miami, Cancún, Brisbane, Singapore, Hong Kong and Abu Dhabi. Ship with a length of 31 meters and 15 meters wide, letter T-shaped is a phenomenal journey within 19 months. This clean and quiet vessel has been launched in March 2010 in Kiel, Germany, in the shipyards of Knierim Yachtbau after 14 months of construction. 

Shipping starts from Monaco on 27 September 2010 and ended on May 4, 2012. During the trip, Tûranor stopped in six continents. Ships also stop in Cancun, Mexico, when the United Nations held World Climate Conference in November 2010.

"When the ship rests, I will miss the times when sailing," said Raphael Domjan, the expedition leader as well as designer of the ship. 

Tûranor name means strength of the sun, taken from the phenomenal novel The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. This name shows how the ship and six crew could sail by just relying on solar energy.

Tûranor made flat deck and into the installation of solar panel covering 537 square meters. Panels made from silicon is able to convert 18.8 percent of sunlight into electrical energy which is stored into the six-power lithium-ion battery is 93.5 kilowatts. With that much power, the ship is able to divide the sea with peak speeds of 15 knots, equivalent to 27.3 kilometers per hour. 

The expedition which cost U.S. $ 24 million, was carried out to campaign for clean energy to the world. Sunlight is a clean energy source and free to be learned in all the world, including the oceans.

Moon Was The Main Cause of the Titanic Sinking

Anyone who knows history or has seen the blockbuster movies knows that the cause of the transatlantic liner's accident 100 years ago in April was that it hit an iceberg. But now, a century later, scientists found that the main factor causing the trans-Atlantic ship sank, the moon.

"The moon and its influence can explain how a very large iceberg can enter the Titanic cruise lines," said Donald Olson, a physicist at Texas State University, USA. Olson led a team of forensic astronomers to investigate the role of the moon. 

Titanic sank at dawn on 15 April 1912 and 1.517 passengers and crew killed. Since then, researchers continue to be puzzled by the attitude of Captain Edward Smith doubt that there are warnings that an iceberg in the path of the Titanic sailed. 

Olson said Smith is known as the most experienced captain in the White Star Line and was sailing in the North Atlantic sea lanes in a variety of occasions. "So, how can a mountain of ice chunks float away to the south to enter the shipping lanes in the south of Newfoundland night?" Olson said.
