One-off Lambo Raptor

If you thought the Lamborghini Huracan was as exclusive as Bolognese supercars get, feast your eyes on the Zagato Raptor.

The one-off concept car unveiled at the 1996 Geneva Motor Show took on the insurmountable task of supplanting the Diablo (on which it's based) on the bedroom walls of enthusiastic children worldwide.

The concept car borrowed its mechanics from the Diablo VT, but while it retained the Lambo's 492-hp V12, in a gesture to insanity it did away with the traction control and ABS. Hera are several pictures of the 1996 Zagato Raptor concept. (All pictures taken from: http://bit.ly/1D76Jte)

The design, which Zagato appears to have echoed with the Spyker C12 concept, features the carrozzeria's signature double-bubble roof that tilts up with the doors not unlike the canopy on Pininfarina's Maserati Birdcage or Giugiaro's Quaranta concepts.

The Raptor was developed in conjunction with Swiss sledding champion Alain Wicki (yes, he has his own Wikipedia entry), and while public reception was hot, the car was never put into production.
All that remains is this one original show car, and the car was sold to a private collector at Pebble Beach 2003 by the auctioneers at the Blackhawk Collection. Maybe you want to see the latest Lambo car from Zagato, click here. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | GERMANCAR4UM]

The Porsche Taycan's 3rd electric sports car was revealed

Porsche once again launched its third version of the electric sports car under the name of Porsche Taycan 4S, after the Taycan Turbo and Taycan Turbo S. This latest car model is Porsche's first electric sports car equipped with the Taycan Turbo drive.

The new entry-level model is now available with two battery sizes, allowing the car to go up to 407 km and 463 km. The Porsche Taycan 4S is equipped with a smaller battery that produces power up to 390 kW and 420 kW with a larger battery. The latter matches the well-known batteries from the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S with a gross capacity of 93.4 kWh (83.7 kWh net) which were introduced earlier in September.

As with the previous two turbo versions, the Taycan 4S uses an exciting permanent synchronous motor (PSM) on both front and rear axles. The difference in performance with those two top models is not only due to its electric power but at least the rear axle of the Taycan 4S also uses a different drive, ie 80 millimeters shorter than the Porsche Taycan Turbo's PSM but still uses a two-speed transmission system.

Both of these 4S variants can accelerate 100 km/h in 4.0 seconds, which is 0.8 and 1.2 seconds slower than each type of Turbo and Turbo S. The highest speed of this car is 250 km/hour, for both cars this. There is also a difference in maximum charging power which is 270 kW for "Performance Battery Plus" and 270 kW for turbo models, smaller standard batteries have peak charging power at 225 kW.

In a vision, Taycan 4S is almost no different from the two variants presented earlier. On the front it has a different design, the side skirt and rear diffuser of the 4S are black. In addition, the brake calipers on Taycan 4S are painted red and also have 19-inch rims that are aerodynamically optimized, while the turbo-type wheels measure up to 21 inches.
The interior of the Taycan 4S is equipped with partial leather as standard. Taycan 4S can be ordered at European dealers next January. In Germany, prices start from €105,607 or the US. $118,190. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MOTOR ILLUSTRATED]

Honda Augmented Driving Concept introduced at the CES 2020

At the CES 2020 which took place in Las Vegas starts on January 7 to 10, 2020, Honda, one of the Japanese vehicle manufacturers, revealed what they were carrying, an AI system that connects the vehicle and driver called the Honda Augmented Driving Concept. Not much detail was revealed about the future vehicle applied system except for the steering wheel system was more focused, and the simply vehicle's image was designed to "respond to cultural shifts to autonomous vehicles."
Honda Augmented Driving Concept is a fully electric, roofless concept car that can transition seamlessly between autonomous and semi-autonomous driving shown off at the CES 2020. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/39IPtm1)
According to Honda, this vehicle applied future system has eight modes between full and semi-autonomous driving functions, and various sensing units mounted on the vehicle can read user behavior and then adjust to the appropriate mode. Then another technology that Honda wants to show in the vehicle applied future system is a redesigned steering wheel system capability to provide a really new driving experience.

There is a button if the user wants to use the fully autonomous system, but the car will not wait for the driver to give any commands to enter the autonomous mode. And the Augmented Driving Concept is always watching the driver, for example when he sleepy or starts taking photos from the window of the car or taking his hands off the wheel to do something else. If it detects such an event, the car will automatically take over the wheel.

And the driver must knock the steering wheel twice to start the car, push the steering wheel towards the front to increase speed and pull the steering wheel to the rear to slow down the car.  If the driver wants to go faster and according to the car it is not a good idea, then the car will not add speed. Thus there is no concern for suddenly braking happened.

This sophisticated steering wheel has a kind of light that illuminates in the middle. This also means that the Honda Augmented Driving Concept applying vehicle does not equip with a throttle pedal.
According to Honda, in an autonomous future vehicle, the company believes that customers will be able to enjoy mobility in new ways when released from the driving responsibility. At the same time, the users still have the chance to feel the emotion and the sensation of driving.

The overall design of the vehicle cannot be explained, perhaps because it is only used as a platform to show off new technology, though from the picture and video we can see a simple vehicle without a roof, low windshield, large rim, and front with a plastic coating, it was only an illustration to describe the whole system in question.

Besides that, the Japanese company unveiled a wide range of products and ideas for a greener future ranging from Honda Energy Management Concept, aiming to create renewable and convenient ways to collect and store energy. It consists of the Honda Mobile Power Pack, which is a portable and swappable battery with a capacity of 1 kWh or more.

The rarest 'El Dominicano'

During the 1950’s Spanish auto manufacturer, Pegaso, built a line of world-class sports cars, the Z-102. With powerful engines, a racing-derived chassis, and cutting edge technology for the time, the Pegaso Z-102 Cupula was a serious contender.

Top Z-102 models, equipped with a 360 hp supercharged V8, were capable of 155 mph, making them the fastest sports cars in the world for a time. A bonafide supercar, top-spec Pegaso could out-run the Ferraris of the era and even the mighty Mercedes 300SL.

Only 86 Pegaso Z-102 sports cars were produced between 1951 and 1958. They were built on a "no object cost" along with a Pegaso production that was greater than other types of vehicles. As you might guess previously, at some certain sports car program like this is quickly getting a financial problem and must be ceased in the end.

The jaw-dropping 1952 Pegaso Z-102 “Cupula Coupe” featured here is one of just two examples built, and the only one known to survive. It won Best in Show, Concours de Sport at the 2016 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance, and it absolutely stunned the crowds. The color scheme seems unique and maybe inspired by the condiments at a hot dog stand, a mustard yellow exterior, a relish green interior, and ketchup red-wall tires.

This Pegaso Z-102 Cupula Coupe was showcased at the 1953 World Motor Show, held at Madison Square Garden in New York City. It was then bought by the President of the Dominican Republic, Rafael Trujillo, and was given the nickname 'El Dominicano.' Since then, the car has been restored to pristine original condition.
Being an early model Z-102, it doesn’t have that mighty supercharged engine under its hood, but rather a 2.5L V8 good for a decent 170hp. It was still good for a solid 120 mph, which was still quite respectable in 1953. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MIND OVER MOTOR]

Your future avatar creature within Mercedes-Benz vision concept

Imagining the future is certainly very pleasant especially when associated with some kind of advanced technologies. The following is the result of the development of Mercedes-Benz in the form of a sophisticated future concept vehicle called the Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR (and AVTR is short for Advanced Vehicle Transformation, a technology that improves driver connectivity with the environment and the car itself.)
Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR concept car has debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2020) held in Las Vegas on January 6. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/37I5eHY)
This latest concept car from Mercedes-Benz made its debut at the CES 2020 in Las Vegas on January 6, 2020. This is a new wild car concept inspired by the Avatar, a James Cameron's movie in 2009. And certainly, this car is not a sequel promised by Cameron instead it's a show car is the result of a partnership between Mercedes-Benz and James Cameron's film franchise.
Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR concept car was inspired by the Avatar, a James Cameron movie in 2009. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/37I5eHY)
The Vision AVTR is part of the concept art of the Avatar story sequel and becomes the movie's climax. And here's a collaboration result of the Mercedes-Benz's design team under Ola Kallenius with James Cameron finally made the design look more real. That was part of the initiation of ambition for a future car in 2039, where that year all vehicles would be free from carbon pollution. Included in the manufacture or production process of course.
Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR is an electric autonomous concept car and, like plenty of others, it has four round wheels and an interior where four people seem to sit comfortably surrounded by futuristic gadgets. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/37I5eHY)
Mercedes-Benz says it all starts with an "inside-out design structure" that combines the interior and exterior of the car into an "emotional whole." The general shape is your typical futuristic soap bar, with a flashing badge and radiant spokes on the wheel. The car has no doors, and behind it, the Vision AVTR has 33 multidirectional movable "bionic" flaps that are intended to look like scales on reptiles which according to the company can be used to communicate with people outside the car.

It also has a special ball wheel that Mercedes-Benz says is inspired by the "Seed of the Soul Tree" from the 2009 Avatar movie. This wheel can spin so that the Vision AVTR can move sideways, or even diagonally.
Uniquely, Mercedes-Benz Vision AVTR has 33 separate parts of scales that are intended to look like the scales on the reptile or as Mercedes-Benz calls "bionic flaps." (Picture from: http://bit.ly/37I5eHY)
It is not very clear how, but this should supply vehicles with energy, along with giving drivers and passengers an extraordinary view of the outside world. This projection is then displayed on a large screen on the front of the vehicle, which has a kind of triangular design.

When you sit in the Vision AVTR, the car will detect your pulse and can feel your breathing well. Mercedes said this biometric connection is an integral part of how the concept operates; that wanted to combine passengers and cars into a kind of "symbiotic organism." The pulsed control pad on the console is where you put your hand when entering the car, and this is where you will set all the key functions of the vehicle.
The big theme of this concept is sustainability. The seat is made of vegan material; the floor is made of a type of wood called 'Karuun' or commonly known as Rattan, which grows as a natural raw material, harvested by hand in Indonesia.

The Vision AVTR concept powered by four electric motors installed near the wheels, it has about 476 horsepower, all-wheel-drive, and torque vectoring, but it's the 110 kW battery that's truly revolutionary due to it made from graphene-based organic cell chemistry, which is completely free of rare earth and metals.
What does all this mean for the future of Mercedes-Benz? A little hard to say. There are many forward-thinking concepts and technologies incorporated into this performance car, but actually, it is lacking as a vision of the future of German carmakers and more than a one-time creation with the Avatar in mind. Either way, it must be something that could come from James Cameron's mind. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE VERGE | ROADSHOW | ELECTRIC CARS REPORT | AUTOEVOLUTION]

Fisker electric-powered SUV said to be the Tesla Model Y rival

An American electric vehicle manufacturer, Fisker Inc. began production of its newest electric SUV named Fisker Ocean in 2021 and is expected to be a serious competitor to the Tesla Model Y.

A glimpse of Fisker Inc. is an automotive company built by Henrik Fisker who is currently serving as CEO of the company. He once tried his luck by building an automotive company in 2013 but was unsuccessful, then re-built the company under the name of Fisker Inc. in 2016.
Fisker Inc. is launched its newest electric-powered SUV called Fisker Ocean on January 4, 2020. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/37NxQQh)
As quoted from greencarreports.com, the Fisker Ocean is expected to target its EV's prices on the market with the prices under the US. $40,000 or around Rp.560 million. It is counted a little more expensive when compared with the Tesla Model Y, which is priced around Rp. 555 million.

And as the future environmentally friendly car, the production process of this car prioritizes the use of recycled materials. As in the interior, which uses recycled materials, while on the roof, there is a full-length solar cell that adds an average range cover of around 1,600 km per year.

Dimensionally, this five-door SUV with a capacity of 4 to 5 passengers has dimensions like a conventional compact SUV, the overall length being comparable to the Honda CR-V or Toyota RAV4. Because it is made based on the EV architecture, this SUV offers spacious interior space and has more utility. From the circulating images, the design of the Fisker Ocean looks very futuristic, it thanks to the use of a two-rows panoramic roof with several LED lights on the entire body.

The interior also uses sustainable materials, the cabin is decorated with recycled carpets made from regenerated nylon, there are vegan or non-animal product components made from 100% polyurethane polycarbonate with reinforced Rayon, and Dinamica "eco-suede" made from recycled polyester and specific plastics.

Not only that the company also said that the Ocean also uses used rubber from recycled tires, even though the company did not explain how those materials are applied. Unfortunately, the vehicle's mechanical heart details are still kept secret by the company, although there are those who say that the basic range of 402 km to 482 km can be achieved by adding a range extender device as an option.

The Fisker EV's battery is also expected to be supplied by LG Chem with a capacity of around 80 kWh, while the transmission used will be available in a variant of rear-wheel and all-wheel drives.

Regarding the EV's production and delivery, the latest information shows that the company will begin shipping its finished production units to consumers in early 2022 with the assembling process scheduled to be carried out early in 2021, although Fisker did not mention where the EV will be made.
It is reported that the Fisker Ocean was officially launched on January 4, 2020, for consumers who will order the Fisker's electric car can make a deposit before the official price is announced on November 27, 2020. Are you interested to have this EV? *** *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | WIKIPEDIA | CARANDDRIVER | MOTOR1]
