China launched the first quantum satellite in world

China successfully launched the Quantum Experiments at Space Scale (QuESS), the world's first quantum satellite from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in northwest Gobi Desert on Monday, August 15, 2016. The satellite launch is an attempt by China to develop the technology of communications systems that secure from hacking.

In a mission for two years, QuESS will build a quantum communication systems transmit data from space to Earth in the form of subatomic particles and researching more about the strange phenomena in quantum physics, namely quantum entanglement.

Quantum communication has super high security because of quantum photon can not be separated or duplicated. That caused the tapping, interception or destruction of information which sent over the quantum photon becomes impossible.

Many countries have tried hard to make a reality of quantum communication, but China became the first country to do so. With a weight of over 600 kg, QuESS would circle the Earth every 90 minutes after entering the Sun's synchronous orbit at an altitude of 500 km.

The satellite is also dubbed "Micius", such as the names of scientists and philosophers of China, known as the first man in history to conduct optical experiments.

"As well as the Galileo satellites and the Kepler space telescope , we named our first quantum satellite with the name of famous scientist. We hope it can promote and increase confidence in Chinese culture," said Pan Jianwei, chief of QuESS project scientists team. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | XINHUANET | SPACE.COM]

Telson as builder also impressed accidentally became a motorcycle customizer. How come? "Because of mingle with Yayak, a community leader of Japs & Bratstyle Indonesia Bengkulu. He asked me to customize his motorcycle becomes cool and unique but can be taken daily riding. Incidentally, I've studying at Thole Motor Kemayoran, Jakarta and N'Joy 76 Extreme Custom, Yogyakarta. So I accept to modify the motorcycle of Yayak," he said.

From the discussions with Yayak, Telson get some notes. The owner wanted his motorcycle has the spirit of fighter but condensed a classic scent. As for the sub frame made of ¾-inches pipe. At the front, the classic scent reinforced by the suspension with girder style that is meant to foster the impression of vintage on the motorcycle.

"It used the Jupiter MX monoshock with 26 degrees rake," said the owner of modifications workshop in Jl. Hibrida 3A No.54, Bengkulu. For the legs he chose the rims taken from the Chinese motorcycle measuring 3x16 inches in front and rear 3,5x15 inches. "Those rims wrapped by the 130/90-16 and 130/90-15 of Pirelli tires," he said later.

This time, the latest Unimog model does not carry the new design and engine. However, the latest Unimog is designed to be able to run on the railroad tracks. Mercedes Benz develop the model as a new innovation, where the Unimog toughness can be used in a variety of needs.

As quoted from Inautonews, technically, this Unimog version does not have design differences and changes. Mercedes Benz just add rail wheels on the front and back of the Unimog. The driving system itself still use the wheel like a car's performance in general.

Its tires were fixed attached to the railroad track, while the iron rails wheel installed to keep Unimog remain on the rail track. Rail wheels used on the Unimog is plug and play, which allows the truck to be used for paved roads.
In their trial, Mercedes Benz Unimog in use on a railroad track with a pull carriages weighing over 1,000 tons. This Unimog is equipped with a turbodiesel engine with a capacity of 5.1 liter that is able to burst the power up to 231 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. The plan, Mercedes Benz will export the Unimog to some countries, such as China and Russia. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | INAUTONEWS]

What happens to Our brain when We sleep?

Why do humans spend a third of their time (8 hours per day) to sleep? Are we a lazy creatures? According to Christoph Nissen, a psychiatry of the University of Freiburg in Germany revealead that sleep is not just rest and not to waste time.

According to his research published in Nature Communications on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, sleep provide an opportunity to the brain to organize and precipitate memory and prevent signal saturation.
Scientists found that, deprived of rest, the brain’s neurons seemingly became over-connected and so muddled with electrical activity that new memories could not be properly laid down. (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1dQOBp)
"This study shows us that sleep is a very active brain activity and not a waste of time. Sleep is needed to support good brain function," said Nissen.

Nissen's research results confirm that the hypothesis of synaptic homeostasis that put forward by Giulio Tononi, a professor of medicine and sleep from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003.

According to this hypothesis, when awakened, the human brain neural networks are full of information that must be processed. The process of making the brain a signal saturation. Sleep helps the human brain to precipitate information and organize themselves so ready to be used again for the next day.

Sleep like the brain resetting. Just in one night, we vigil and sleep-deprived, the brain will be saturate the signal and less ready to receive and send new information. As a result, staying up would make people less poor concentration, difficulty reacting quickly, as well as difficult to save the new memory.

As quoted of The Guardian on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, Nissen derive conclusions about the benefits of sleep for the brain by examining the response of 11 men and 11 women aged between 19-25 years after enough sleep and late nights.

Nissen revealed that after late nights, the object of research had lower nerve signals to move muscles as well as the response of neurons that are also lower, a sign of trouble to save memory. These results open up new opportunities to overcome depression. Instead overcome by anti-depreasan, depression can be cured by sleeping.

In response to these findings, Tononi said that the study was "elegant and powerful" as well as confirming the view that as long as this can only be proven in animals. He also emphasized, "Sleep is important. One reason is that it allows the brain to learn new things, store and organize the existing memory." *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE GUARDIAN]

From Russia with a Custom Café Racer

A Russian biker named Sam Maksimovsky seems so obsessed with the café racer classic style. These changes are visible in the figure of his 'Caff36' bike that is built using a base of 1976 Honda CB500T.
The custom café racer bike called Caff36 was built of 1976 Honda CB500T by 36 Customs. (Picture form: http://adf.ly/1dQG6F)
He entrusted the modification work of his CB500T motorcycle to a modification workshop named 36 Customs, where the process took almost eleven months.

First work that is targeting the framework sector in which to make the café racer typical riding position, the workshop should be cut and reposition the frame making it more compact and lightweight. Then, they make a simply short seater, and formed the rear section like a wasp tail that is the hallmark of café racer style.

The next step which is to beautify the engine of CB500T with a touch of polish and paint, so it could give a dramatic effects on this old Honda motorcycle. To use a simple custom exhaust system with its silincer angle rather looked up.

For the legs also did not escape of changes, using the wheels and width tread tires also became the bike trademark. Furthermore, the finishing touch aka paint job, the CB500T café racer custom bike got the 'bursts' of white with transverse lines in black (thick) and red (thin) blends nicely with chrome accents.
We thought, course that's a good looking café racer motorcycle. The prove is when the motorcycle participated in the Moscow Custom & Tuning Show 2013 held at Crocus Expo (MOTOPARK 2013) and won a prize in the category of 'Best Metric Project'.
