American police are using the muscle cars to pursue speeders

Cars with high performance not only be the richman toy for racing. In the right hands, a high performance car can be a powerful tool to support the law enforcement.

Police in the United States continue to improve the ability of their official cars. Michigan State Police for example, they have explored the procurement of patrol cars with Ford, General Motors, Chrysler to Fiat.

Each manufacturer to introduce  one of their flagship cars, ie the Dodge Charger, Cheverolet Caprice, and the last Ford Taurus. Well, of the three candidates earlier, Ford Taurus has been appointed as the Police Interceptor, for daily police patrol cars in several states. As quoted from USAToday, Ford Taurus will be a patrol car with the best acceleration performance, 0-100 km per hour in 5.7 seconds.

Ford Taurus acceleration is better than the other candidates, such as the Chevrolet Caprice that takes 6.11 seconds and Dodge Charger with 6.05 seconds. Taurus agile performance comes from a turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 engine.

Meanwhile, on the other tests the Chevrolet Caprice became the fastest service vehicles, by relying on the 6.0 liter V8 engine. While Dodge Charger patrol car became the candidate with the best braking distances, only 37.55 meters from a speed of 100 km per hour until it stops.
