Detroit Electric electric sportscar made in England

One of U.S automotive companies, Detroit Electric to confirm if they will build their electric sportcar namely SP: 01 in the UK. Detroit Electric claims if SP:01 electric car will be the fastest mass-production version ever created.

As reported by Autocar on Monday, July 7, 2014, according to the results of Detroit Electric testing, shows SP:01 has a maximum speed of up to 249.4 km/h and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds.

The SP:01 prototypes was first introduced last year (2013). Detroit Electric continues to develop a variety of technologies that provide significant changes such as increased aerodynamic as well as comfort and quality of exterior materials. Detroit Electric said that this sportscar will be manufactured at their new plant in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, UK.

This electric-powered sportscar will take the Lotus platform design and went on sale in Europe and Asia by the end of this year. Not only build the sportscars, Detroit Electric is also eager to create an electric powered supercar with a 2 +2 seat configuration. For this supercar, Detroit Electric will work on their homebase, which is Detroit.
