KIA Luxury sedan

KIA Motors Corp. wants to change their image as a manufacturer of cheap vehicles in the United States and brought the newest luxury sedan, K900.

"Our hope with this step is so customers know that we are different from the brand that they think a few years ago," said Michael Sprague, KIA Executive Vice President for Sales and Marketing in the United States, as quoted from Reuters.


Sprague was speaking at the Automotive Press Association in Detroit on Thursday. He also argued K900 was among BMW 5 Series and BMW 7 series and subsequent luxury models of KIA is Cadenza.

Meanwhile Jack Nerad, an analyst of Kelley Blue Book, the industry consulting firm says not sure K900 will be successful in the United States such as in South Korea. In his home country, K900 named K9.

"People buy luxury cars for prestige car brand in addition to excellence, that will make KIA will be difficult against Mercedes-Benz or BMW or Audi," said Nerad.

In KIA official website, K900 luxury sedan mentioned using a V8 engine that produces around 420 hp of power or a V6 engine capable of producing 311 hp of power. 

Furthermore the tires which used on the K900 V8 will use 19-inch alloy wheels with tires of 245/45R-19 in front and 275/40R-19 rear. There are 16 lights LED adaptive headlights on the K900 V8 series. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | KIA | REUTERS]
