Sightings of a mysterious light on Mars

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) robotic rover, Curiosity sends back amazing images of Mars. In the form of sightings bright flash of light in the distance taken on April 2 and April 3, 2014. Such images led to speculation on Earth. Some people even expect it as a UFO, which deals with life outside the human planet.

However, NASA scientists have a different opinion. "One possibility, flashes of light that is reflected from the surface of the stone. When these images are taken every day, the sun is in the same direction as the bright spot, in the west and northwest rover and relatively low in the sky," said Justin Maki , leader of Curiosity's camera mechanics, as quoted from SPACE.com on Wednesday, April 9, 2014.

"The rover scientists also see the possibility that it could be a bright spot is the sunlight that reaches the CCD (charge-coupled device) camera directly on the vent on the camera body, which never happened before in the Curiosity rover and the other is on Mars - when the sunlight that comes relatively parallel to the camera."

There is also the possibility of light caused by the impact of cosmic rays on the camera movement. However, whatever the cause, it is not a rare phenomenon. "Of the thousands of images that we receive from Curiosity, we saw some photos with the light sightings every week.

Two black-and-white photographs taken from the right side of the navigation camera shows the Curiosity small flashes of light shimmering in the distance, in front of a crater that dominates the horizon. UFO fans reacted by announcing that it was possible evidence of life on Mars.

"An artificial light show this week from NASA photograph, which shows a flash of light ... up from the ground." Scott Waring wrote in UFO Sightings Daily reported on Monday, April 7, 2014 last. "Shows there is intelligent life in the basement that uses light as what we do." Waring has found another oddity in the photograph Curiosity, for example, last December he pointed to the appearance of 'rat Mars' lied in between two rocks.

What is believed to mice Mars turns an example of a psychological phenomenon called Pareidolia, which refers to the tendency of the human brain to see familiar shapes in a vague or random images. Another example of pareidolia is the famous 'face on Mars' supposedly visible in pictures taken by NASA's Viking 1 orbiter in 1976. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SPACE]
